The incident took place in the municipality of Colón, 20 minutes from Querétaro, where about 200 members of the Mexican Navy and Army conducted an operation, which lasted for 24 hours, in order to locate the Michoacán capo and included the searching of dozens of homes; Joaquín López Dóriga, a columnist for Milenio, announced on his Twitter page.

Kike Plancarte was identified by the Attorney General of Mexico as one of the main leaders of the Knights Templar, along with Servando Gomez "La Tuta".
He was accused of organized crime, drug crimes, kidnappings, murder, and robbery. The PGR offered a reward of 10 million pesos for information leading to his location.

The body was
airlifted to the facilities of the 17th Military Zone located in Querétaro.

proceeded to conduct forensic test to confirm the identity of the person
Fingerprint tests were made on both hands; they
compared images in order to confirm features
The results of
the forensic tests used confirm that the person killed was Enrique Plancarte

It was reported
earlier that Federal Police arrested Samuel “N”, an alleged operator of Enrique
“Kike” Plancarte who was in charge of transferring drugs into the United States,
in Apatzingán, Michoacán.
The alleged drug
trafficker offered a million dollars to let him free, the National Comission of
Security (CNS) reported.
In a statement,
the federal agency reported that the arrest of Samuel “N”, 32 years old, was
made during a patrol of deterrence, prevention, and surveillance in the village
known as Las Tinajas, in the municipality of Apatzingán, where federal forces
arrested the armed man and “verbally offered a million dollars to set him free”.
Samuel “N” was
traveling in a 2014 truck, where inside lay a high caliber weapon, 29
cartridges, an additional 30 were also seized, and 36,640 pesos in cash.
The detainee claimed
that he “developed his criminal activity in the transfer of drugs into the
United States under the orders of a person named Enrique Plancarte Solís”.
In an additional
operation in the municipality of Zamora, Michoacán, Marco Antonio “N”, 26, was also
detained. He was responsible for monitoring
two properties that were used as storage for storing stolen fuel.

But Castillo added that prosecutors plan to also charge him with ordering the killing of the mayor of the nearby town of Tanhuato, Gustavo Garibay.
