Juan Francisco Carrizales Lara "El 98" captured

Elements of the Marines ( Semar ), captured an alleged leader of a criminal group in Tamaulipas, in a domicile in the Cumbres Quinto Colonia to the west of Monterrey.

During the discrete operation that was carried out Saturday morning, the Marines detained one Juan Francisco Carrizales Lara, known as "El 98", according to a communication given out yesterday night.

Without revealing many details, they only informed that the detained had in his possession four kilograms of marijuana, and AR 15 rifle and a luxury van.

According to the investigation, Carrizales Lara is the regional Plaza boss for the Cartel del Golfo in the cities of Nuevo Laredo, Diaz Ordaz and Rio Bravo.

The Marines used the element of surprise to arrive at a domicile in the fifth sector of the Cumbres Colonia, where a rapid action detained the person already mentioned.

However they did not release details of the street or house number where he was captured. He is now known as the leader of the "Los Metros" faction, who maintain a struggle for these Plazas against another faction known as "Los Ciclones", in the cities of Reynosa, Rio Bravo and Matamoros.

Because of this struggle, recently it has generated a lot of violence in the State of Tamaulipas according to the version given by the authorities. "El 98" was put at the disposition of Seido, where the appropriate investigation will be carried out.

Milenio carries exactly the same information about the arrest.

Borderland Beat forum member Itzli  suggests that he was betrayed by Alberto Martinez Gutierrez, El Guero Cleofas, and that nearly 8 tonnes of marijuana was seized in the operation, not 4 kilos as reported by Valor and Milenio.

    1. m16-a2 is a good weapon if you keep it clean and maintained, but like most modern day rifles, if you dont clear out the fouling, or use non standard Nato 5.56 ammunition for which it was designed you may have problems. The marines have armorers whose job it is to service the rifles, perhaps the problem lies with them.

    2. I've never served with anyone who delegated the cleaning of his sidearm to an armorer or anyone else and wouldn't want to. I've used several versions of M16 (including M16A2) for 17 years and of the hundreds of thousands of rounds I put through I never had round not eject and chamber hot round. I cleaned bolt assembly up to twice a day depending on environment and number of rounds being fired. I can't say same my m9 or m60, but the SAW for putting lead down range and the M16A2 for accuracy and reliability are both good to go!

    4. A2 never jammed on me my man. Keep the ejector lid when not in use and keep dirt out. You're good!

    5. They will be eventually upgraded to the FX-05. That is very similar to the HK G36 but with a different gas system.. So dont you worry about mexican marines. The US has its own war for you to worry about.

    7. Well I did say that the armorers job is to SERVICE the rifles, not clean the rifles! If you shoot a rifle you should clean it after each use.

    8. Those jam with hollow point rounds and when the mags are no good.

    9. 12:17 lol tell that to mexican soldiers. i bet those heavy but extremely reliable G-3 haven't been clean in DECADES and still fire without problem. Something totally alien to AR-15 variant conscripts...

When fat a$$ Cherry's family betrayed and set up El Gringo to get ambush by Mario Pelon, El 98 was so furious that rumor had it that he was going to execute the Leal's with the help of Los Pumas

  5. The Drug Business is a shit business. It is full of betrayal and in fighting. The business seems to be a bunch of cowboys shooting each other. What happened to all the rackets? There seems to be enough business for everybody to make money. What ever happened to having a sit down and working the shit out? Greed, betrayal, in fighting, is making it tough to do business. I guess that's what happens when you get high off your own supply!!

    1. Goes with the territory.Any illegal business is like that, betrayals and infighting.I don't know why you would think otherwise. It's the quality of the people in the business and it attracts morally deficient people who are NOT pillars of the community:selfish people are attracted to it automatically.Looks like this arrest was robbery motivated not getting the bad guys off the street.

    2. Chapo changed the business for the worse. Him along with the Narco Juniors who have no respect for anyone.

    3. My family is from this same region and I agree. I don't understand why can't they come to an agreement. All the old school guys are still in business, but these young, greedy, knuckleheads make it hard to make money. Bunch of amateurs...they're so greedy, they can't even sell the shit cause their prices are outrageous.

      Delete
    4. 9:48 wrong, all the infighting is because the governors sell the "plaza" to multiple cartels, and profit from all the murdering that follows...
--After a while they end up owning the "plaza" and the workers, the new government will usually have sold the plaza to a new cartel...

      Delete
    5. Its become a sh1t business because of the uneducated and moronic Mexicans that are running things. These young thugs are not educated and combine that with greed.... all you have is killing. The people are too stupid to work together to figure out the best routes, the best places to cross the border. How to divide up the border and figure out a way that everyone involved makes a profit. The market is there, the profits are there...its idiots running the show.

    1. Remember that manta Z40 put up saying CDG was finished and how M4 and Gringo were gonna split everything up, it's a little spooky how it all turned out like that, maybe people in the darkside are privy to knowledge of these kinds of things. Or maybe it was obvious? Either way all this fighting is harsh.

  13. All the factions with names like Los this and Los that. A great idea would be for all of them to join under one big cartel called "Loss Cause." So sad that these guys keep coming out of the gutter and destroying their own home land with violence. Sad for the average citizens to have to cope with a life filled with this nonsense. Really only the big leader really profit. The rest are pawns to delay the leader being arrested or killed.

Mandava a su gente ala muerte segura las armas largas con Los pinches cargadores medios llenos. 2. you have to remember that Tamaulipas, Coahuila have virtual news blackouts, the cartels control the local press completely, so the only updates are on social media and yes I'm keeping my eye out for updates.

If you really want to learn more, you should go visit the forum and the thread started by Itzli on the Gulf cartel, that's the best place ive ever seen for updated info on whats happening with Z and CDG

    3. I don't need press or forums yo soy de Control Tamaulipas I know that border town rings bells. Too many gun battles I've witnessed. Back when the military use to raid wichos houses only to find nothing all the shoot outs between xw and the military and marines that was never in the news, those motherfuckers would actually try to shoot down the boludo with RPGs seen the xw-ciclones battle also metros vs ciclones battles.

  17. The Los Zetas are "has beens". They ain't jack anymore. Their brutality brought an end to their short stay at the top. Sinaloa is in charge. Juarez is on a comeback. And the Gulf is getting wiser. The Los Zetas, their days are over.

  21. I wrote a comment last week about a message left in Nuevo Laredo about how the CDG and CDS along with la reina and el mayo on orders of el Chapo were going to clean up Nuevo Laredo of Mugrozos. My buddy that lives in Nuevo Laredo said there has been fun battles every day of last week and a half. Idk why Chivis didn't post it for readers to be aware. It warned for every citizen to not be out in the streets past 12 midnight or they were going to be picked up and torchered to make sure they were not zetas. Also, what faction of CDG is united with CDS and what faction is in Reynosa now ? I hear the metros are no longer there
