El Toro and burned out bus
Federal Forces elements killed Juan Manuel Loaiza Salinas alias "El Toro" (CDG) and "Pancho" Carreón (Zeta) during an operation that triggered the burning of trucks, homes and some businesses.

At 2:30 today, elements of the Navy began a series of operations where the leader of the criminal group operating on this border was killed during the fighting.

Throughout the city were recorded blockades and burning vehicles, as a result of the death of "El Toro " and "Pancho" Carreón.

Pancho Carreon
The government of Tamaulipas announced the death of 'El Toro' and 'Pancho' Carreón during a confrontation in Reynosa.

In his Twitter account, the state government published: 'In Tamaulipas, Federal Forces confirm that after fighting with criminals, the delinquents 'El Toro' and 'Pancho' Carreon (sic) died.

In Tamaulipas, Federal Forces confirm that after confrontations with criminals, the delinquents "El Toro" and "Pancho" Carreon died.
08:34 - 22 Apr 2017

One of the dead, Francisco Carreón, 'Pancho Carreón', was identified by authorities as leader of a cell of the self-styled 'Cartel de los Zetas Vieja Escuela'.

Julián Loisa Salinas, better known as 'El Toro', was designated as head of the Gulf cartel in Reynosa.  Attempts by the police to capture him on several occasions led to several clashes with the criminal organization.

State Police spokesman said bullet "penetrated his brain"
The AP reported in a story published in the Ledger-Enquirer that the two were killed this morning but in separate confrontations.  The AP story said .  Julian Loisa Salinas, better known as "Comandante Toro," was killed in the border city of Reynosa, across the border from McAllen, Texas and that the leader of the rival "Zetas" cartel in the Tamaulipas state capital of Ciudad Victoria was killed in a similar shootout further south. He was tentatively identified as Francisco "Pancho" Carreon.

The authorities said that people of Loisa Salinas burned the vehicles and blocked roads in Reynosa in an unsuccessful attempt to escape justice.

In a second tweet, they reaffirmed that both men were key targets for the state and that they would not give rise to delinquency.

'Two key targets were shot down last night at #Reynosa and state center.   gobtam and Fuerzas Federales will not give a halt to fighting crime,' they said.

In another tweet, the authorities asked the population to be careful, as they will continue to carry out operations against criminal groups.

In social networks, several of the residents reported closing in the streets and burning cars and shops. Several maquiladoras informed their workers that they did not go to the labor centers because they were blocked with public transport trucks that were stolen by criminal groups to make barricades.

To safeguard the road safety between Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, the Neolean prosecutor, Bernardo González Garza, explained that an operation is being implemented in the region.

'Yesterday we started an operation towards Reynosa and Laredo, taking care of both directions of the highway and to the limits of Nuevo Leon. We have knowledge of events in Tamaulipas', explained in interview in MILENIO Television.

González detailed that this is a support to the security work carried out by the Tamaulipan government.

'Beyond the risk situations, we gladly support state security tasks and have people very prepared,' he said.

    1. Capturing was not an option as he was probably going to talk about how he paid marines money for protection. Similar to what Coss did.

      Delete
    2. People saying that these guys where going to talk about corruption and what not give too much credit to these two low lifes. They were definitely connected to some extent but it taked real power like the one Chapo, the Carrillos and even the Beltranes had in the past to corrupt Marines among other forces!

      Delete
    3. EXACTLY RIGHT!!!
All the explanations have their roots in the corruption of the mexican political, economic and military elite.

      Delete
    4. 9:14 low life or not Toro in the past paid marines for protection a million or two that's not even a question. You prolly never even been to Mexico. You know why they started switching the military from state to state more often? They know they start getting paid by the maña sooner or later. That's why they brought in marines from Chiapas to Reynosa not to long ago

      Peace!!

      Delete
    5. 9:14; Your exactly right. These two scumbags together couldn't pool enough resources to corrupt the marines. Chapo couldn't bribe them both times they caught him and there is no way either of these little fish in a northeastern pond of Mexico could have corrupted las Marines.

7:45am; Grouping las Marines with "the military" in Mexico shows a level of cluelessness that speaks for itself. Thats like comparing these dead low lifes with a Mayo, Azul, Mochomo - two totally different worlds. You obviously haven't spent any time in Mexico!

    8. 2:57 check out the audio recording on mundo narco where toro tells a marine about them betraying him after all the millions they took. Then come back and tell me who is clueless. Did you not ever hear about Coss bribing her the marina also then they turned on him?? I'm from control tamps that's a cdg battlefield I go Mexico every weekend

    10. @5:35, 3:44; Taking something as fact that a thieving, kidnapping, extorting criminal claimed while trying to save his ass isn't exactly good source material. Rather that's a true recording or not anything Toro claims, and claims under duress isn't exactly credible information...LOL

      Delete
    11. 5:35; why does a recording with a non-Tamps accent make it authentic? That rationale is almost as ludicrous as claiming something is true just b/c a a criminal says it is...as 11:41 pointed out. Slow down, take a breath and put the meth pipe down!

      Delete
    12. 11:41 does someone have to draw a map for you?? You act like Mexico isn't know for its corruption. Just listen to the recording the marine is talking about betillo toros nephew saying he wants him(probably to arrest him to show some progress) and then he says things will get renewed when you turn him. He even mentions him by his code meaning he's dealt with them before. I can even hear wero cleofas on the damn radio. But hey go rely on whatever credible information you have

      Delete
    13. @4:36 I am sure 11:41 knows that Mexico is know for it's corruption. I for one don't have any doubts that Toro was paying for protection. But that doesn't make the recording true. Neither does your claim that recognize Cleofas voice on the radio. You would have to be a very close friend of his for that to be true. As many shootouts that Toro has had with police and military that recording could have been made at any one of them. 11;41 specifically said he did not know if the recording was true or not.

I have not listened to the recording because I would not grace CDN with my presence. They are known to have used photos of crime scenes from 2 years ago and posted them as photos of a current crime scene. They have been known to make up stories. What I know about the recording is from comments posted here. No one as yet has given any other source than CDN. I find it strange that if the recording is true that no other major media in Mexico has picked it up (as far as I know). I don't know if it is a true recording of what happened or not, but it will be take more than CDN for me to decide that it is credible.

    15. 8:14 there are several recordings on YouTube where cleofas talking on the radio the one with chiricuas and another video as well. And please tell me when has any media from Mexico EVER picked up anything about corruption involving cartels????? And it's almost a fact every cartel has paid someone for protection when have you heard of it on the news or media?

      Delete
    16. 9:21; when has Mexican media ever picked up Mexican cartel corruption? That's a slam on the hundreds of murdered reporters that lost their lives providing news about cartel corruption. Open your literary world; Zeta, El Debate, Noroeste, even La Nota Roja and as a reader of several sources of Mexican media I can assure there are still today many brave reporters risking their lives daily reporting on cartel corruption. Like some commenters above I do not attribute much if any truth to narco mantas or what criminals might claim.

      Delete
    17. 4:57 yes these brave reporters have been murdered but mostly have been killed because they expose the actual leaders, capos or criminal group not exactly because of corruption.

      Delete
    18. 4:57; What????? Did you read what you wrote before hitting publish? So now cartel leaders are 1) credible sources to site as fact (they always state truth except only when they say they will release and not kill a family's member as long as victims family pays ransom) and 2) criminal groups are not exactly corruption!?!?! That's incredibly stupid to even suggest!

Has this really degraded into a conversation suggesting that criminals are honest source for information, and most disgusting and disrespectful; that Mexicos brave reporters are being minimized for taking on the Mexicos real cartel - PRI and the 80-90 families that run Mexican business, politics, and drug trade.

Miroslava Breach was just shot in front of her children for exposing the leading mayor candidate in Chihuahua supported by PRI was just the new inexperienced corrupt puppet of PRI, and had it not been for Sra Breach PRI would have stolen how many more millions on the backs of the people instead of serving the people!

73-year-old Maximino Rodriguez Palacios was just murdered this month after reporting on state and local corupcion in La Paz - and he's the fourth reporter murdered in six weeks reporting on corupcion in local, state and federal gob.

Five brace reporters exposed that members of the Mexico Senate bought 10 Harley-Davidson motorcycles at a cost of 2.12 million Mexican pesos, or about US$130,000, in order to serve their constituents better.
Senators spent 43,800 pesos on 210 bottles of wine, or US$2,700 in a four-month period.
One senator bought a loaded Yukon Denali SUV for 890,000 pesos, or US$60,000, for the use of an obscure agency whose purpose is to "do studies to help the Congress make decisions." Obviously the senator declined to discuss.

This is the most devolved and crazy pieces of fantasy by cartel fans I have hoped I would never see! God help us

    19. It is disgusting reading stupid Americans write like they know like an expert what living in Mexico is like. I think there are many people that want to, and are even jealous they are not narcos. To me it seems apparent when people who do not read our news say reporters do "not exactly" report on corruption, or to say "capos or criminal gropus are not exactly" corrupt. And for the naco who is saying las marines are corrupt because a terrorist in our country said something to be true. Our country is not perfect but to put dishonor on the heros of Las Marinas because your drug hero made a claim - that is just bad manners. I don't like the term "ugly american" that I hear many Americans describe of tourists when they come here, but what I have read today is ugly american and completely of dishonor to too many reporters that have been killed, beaten, and given terror just because the try to deliver truth to our society in the periodicos.

    2. In culiacan, sinaloa, most insurance companies broke and are actually not really wanting to insure anymore. My parents got a grand cherokee stolen in badiraguato like 4 years ago, luckily we're from the area so we knew some 'people' and they reported it through their radios and we got it back in less than 45 minutes. Things worked in favor there also because of the mountainous region there means significantly less traffic, people recognize cars and outsiders a bit more but lets say things did not end well for those guys because stealing is not accepted because of laws imposed by....unfortunately my aunt got her brand new honda accord stolen in the city of culiacan about 2 weeks ago (both at gun point) and there was no way to get it back in a city with non-stop traffic and non-law-abiding drivers out there hahaha. Insurance told her that an average of 37 cars are stolen daily, just in the city of culiacan! ...i had justt said in the pancho chimal funeral article when somebody stated that tamaulipas had more marine killings/ambushes than in sinaloa which they bragged about, stating 'facts'...i stated that these guys CDG and Z were dumbasses because they only thought about their current escape situation of cartel bosses and they kill soldiers which brings a thirst for revenge from other marine/goverment officials. which in turn bring more heat to the region, making it harder for them to keep operating consistently and lowkey. Thats why in sinaloa they dont do that often, only took less than 4 days or so to prove my point.
Anyway Hope u find it interesting.

    9. I said, that in badiraguato(sierras) they stole a grand cherokee (truck), and that in culiacan (city) they stole a brand new white accord (car). Tegoripa is a long way up the sierras, and those roads can get ugly, i know that, maybe thats why you would make the claim that a car is useless, one of my parents are from El rincon de los montes badiraguato and the other from batopito badiraguato so we barely even need a truck because thats at the entrance of badiraguato, your all the way up badiraguato basically. Furthest ive gone is surutato and i guess you could say you would need a truck, we went in a caravan in quads and razors with a few trucks behind us. Theres a lot of dirt roads but theres a lot of pavement now too. By the way, not everybody in sinaloa is from a rancho/sierras that would oblige everyone in to need a truck) Of course everybody loves to show off their badd ass trucks obviously thats what everybody that has money or wish they had money wants and loves but theres a lot of cars too , only a few ranchos maybe like yours all the way up and near surutato where you FOR REAL need a truck to get into. But in that case SAY: "In tegoripa, where im from they wouldnt bother stealing a brand new accord, because they would be useless on those sierra/rocky/deformed roadways" and not "in sinaloa they wouldnt bother". Sinaloa has a lott of pavement/city terrain that thieves would love to drive recklessly on in stolen cars because even if they crash a brand new car or gov'mt takes it away, who gives a f*** they stole it! $0 put of their pocket. And even non-paved roads in ranchos that are definitely still car-accessible. Not long ago i saw someone from our ranch in a badass luxury car (obviously cant get too specific) in non-paved roads and you know la raza doesnt give a F*** he was busting donuts and burning out and everything on those roads just for all of us there including himself to get a laugh out of it. My grandparents over there drive around in a lincoln town car super slow lol(theyr like 90) and it doesnt seem to stop them from getting anywhere they wanna go...but then again, at that age they dont feel the need to go many places obviously. (All this writing just because you tried to make me look like an idiot paisano, but your choice of words as proven were not well thought out)

Military persistence paid off. Wish the rest of the country had the same military presence and persistence to combat these criminals.
Nevertheless it's a win for the citizens!
    For now that is!

  51. In Mexico the cartel that stays at the top for a brief moment is the one that has the govt. on their side. The cartel that is being persecuted the least is CJNG. You don't see the military or the Marina roaming the state of Jalisco like you do in Michoacan. Even with roughly half of the Templarios switching sides & joining the CJNG they still can't take over Michoacan. Even the groups that are openly affiliated to CJNG are scared to claim Jalisco, that's why you never see a narcomanta or narcomensaje next to a decapitated body with their signature .Los Viagras/Nueva Familia Mich. & the true remaining Templarios kicking CJNG's ass even when the Jaliscos have the help of the govt. Now that's what I call real sicarios real soldiers -straight killers. As powerful as Mencho is he can't step in Michoacan.Yes Mencho is on top right now but as we've seen with Chapo sooner or later some other group will take that spot.

The reason I think he may have been driving is the driver would probably be the last one out and by then the Marines were shooting back and one of them was a good shot and shot him in the temple.
