Petronilo Moreno
Flores, aka "El Panilo", was arrested in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, in an
operation carried out by elements of the Mexican Army. He was a "Most Wanted" by the Mexican federal government,
The operation was
carried out in the residential Paseo Fractionation, in the northwest of the
City.
According to witnesses,
it was around 6:30 am today when Army elements arrived in the area in vehicles

one of the priority objectives of the federal government, Tamaulipas and Texas.
No shots were reported
in the area and so far it is unknown if there were more people detained.
He is the leader of the CDG Scorpions group of Gulf in Reynosa,
the most violent city in Tamaulipas, where the plaza is in a long dispute with Zetas CDN. "El Panilo" is a credited with being responsible for the violence generated, in the municipalities of Rio Bravo,
Reynosa and Matamoros, due to the warring he has entered into with the Northeast Cartel, for the control of the plazas.

His death was falsely
reported in January of this year, after
his group attacked elements of SEDENA in the Colonia Nuevo Reynosa.

DeleteSad how greediness works. As a cartel, it would be MUCH more efficient and Much profitable, and LESS watching ovet your back if they worked together . This must be the worse cartel to work for in terms of longevity .And the one making the least amount of money .They should just separate and call themselves by other names, only considering that they kill their own members . I understand that these are different factions but they still are CDG. I guess greediness is the new money for them.

ReplyDeleteI've been coming to matamoros on the weekends for the past month and it's been quiet. You don't see convoys of military or police. But last night I woke up to loud cars or trucks speeding down the street. I wonder if panilo hiding out in matamoros was the reason it was quiet for so long...I guess they can check his picture off on the bill board at check point.
