Canadian executed in Mexico City mall parking structure

Oaxaqueño Borderland Beat

For the third time this year, a Metro Vancouver gangster has been shot to death in Mexico…Jodh Singh Manj, 31, of the United Nations Gang, was gunned down after leaving a gym in a commercial complex in the Mexico City neighborhood of Santa Fe. [Vancouver Sun Update follows analysis below]

Mexico City: Canadian Executed in Shopping Mall Parking Lot

A 30-years-old Canadian citizen was shot dead by unknown assailants in Mexico City on Wednesday afternoon. The incident took place at around 13:00 hrs in the parking lot of the Via Santa Fe shopping mall, located in Mexico City’s Cuajimalpa district, situated some 17 kilometers southwest of the city center. Reportedly, the man was shot while approaching his luxury car.

He was accompanied by his wife, a Colombian citizen, who remained unharmed in the attack. Ten cartridges were found at the crime scene. The victim showed four bullet impacts. It is said that the perpetrator, who allegedly approached his victim without saying a word, was accompanied by another armed man. Both fled on a motorcycle. No arrests have been made yet.
Oaxaqueño Analysis:

So far, no reports on the motive of the attack have been issued. Thus, it can only be speculated about the reason for the execution. According to reports, the victim, who was reportedly executed shortly after leaving the gym, recognized his attacker and subsequently attempted to flee. This would hint towards a personal motive. Taking the modus operandi of the assailants into consideration, the assassination seems to have been planned quite diligently and conducted in a rather professional manner. Thus, it appears plausible the attackers belonged to a criminal group. Given the victims’ luxury car, as well as the apparent circumstance that he had trained in the gym there, it seems plausible he lived in or nearby the exclusive area of Santa Fe. Nevertheless, this is only speculation by me. In August this year, several gunmen shot dead another Canadian in a shopping center in Guadalajara while on of his companions, a Mexican-American citizen, was seriously injured.

Update from Vancouver Sun: Manj was facing charges of conspiracy to import and distribute methamphetamine, ecstasy and pseudoephedrine in Oregon, California, Washington and Canada.

According to U.S. court documents, the charges against Manj were dismissed in February 2017 because the “defendant has not been apprehended, his whereabouts are unknown, and it would be difficult to locate the witnesses and exhibits necessary for successful prosecution of this case.” [QUE?]

One high-profile Hells Angel was posting gleeful comments on his Instagram Wednesday believed to be referencing Manj’s murder. [no name given]

This killing is attempt to change who will supply the dead mans plazas or to stop business for his crime group so other crime group can control and sell to his plazas in Canada.

    7. Thank you for the info from Canadian Girl and everyone. Question, in my small amount of research it appears most org crime and gang activity is on the vancouver side, is that correct? logistically. geographically, and because of maritime access, vancouver is much better for things like trafficking. goes on the toronto side with gangs?

      Delete
    8. Chivis its like this Vancouver is controlled by Asians and bikers to a smaller extent. The big player are in Montreal which is controled by the Italians but not Italian Canadians actual Italians from ndrangheta and sicilian mafia. Italian mafia leaders love Canada same with chinese but they stick to vancouver. The people getting killed in Mex are small time except the guy killed in neuvo vallarta 6 years back. Keep up the good wirk Chivis!!!!

I actually communicated with Kim on another Mexico murder I think it was the Giuseppe murder. She asked people for additional info and photos. I sent good info and non graphic images. She thanked me but never used anything. I thought that was very strange, you ask for something, you get it from a credible news blog and not use it. I thought at the time something else I did not know about was going, on we dream about getting good info.

I would not send her anything in the future.

The Gangsters out blog is a good one but limited. they need to specialize further, i like their list of alike blogs and cutlets. I did not know of most. But I recognized Borderland Beat :) is that how you found us?

    10. Chivis, the crime out of BC is done more frequently by organizations who even handle street level crime, but the organized crime in the Toronto area is more hidden, until you hear of a bust. The crimes in Toronto, specifically violence, is more associated with street gangs. The city is too diverse for one or a couple criminal organizations to control it all, like it happens in Vancouver or Montreal.
Though Van has pacific port access, Ontario has more than adequate land crossings to the US, and port access through Montreal.

      Delete
    11. Although it's more prominent in the Vancouver area, Toronto does have ties with many gangs and cartel coke (mostly Sinaloan I believe). This is due to the city being so huge, proximity to US border, and that Toronto is a transit point for the entire East coast. Although the busiest airport in the country handles small loads from DR, central America, etc, the bigger shipments come via trucks from US. The actual deal with cartel members happens in the US, then the loads are hidden in commercial goods and trucked north to a Toronto distribution hub. From here it branches out to other cities (mostly to the East).

      Delete
    12. Thank you 9:32. I knew that toronto had a nexus to Sinaloa at one point did not know how strong it remains. Also all of the designer mota hydro used to come thru there....seems I recall the hells angels being heavily involved.

    19. Chivis,

In regards to your comment at 8:16am, I believe it is up to Kim's editor to determine what images to use, and what the headline is going to be too. As far as the information goes, if what you provided to her cannot be corroborated, it's most likely not going to be used (possible liability issue?) So please don't take it personally, because it's definitely not.

And Ace, I haven't checked your site yet, but I will say this about Kim: she was the first reporter to make it known that the Red Scorpions were behind the Surrey Six, got an in person interview with notorious gang figure Bal Buttar in 2004, first one to break who was behind the murder of journalist Tara Singh Hayer just to name a few. I've had an issue with Kim in the past, but I'm not going to take away from her that she is an excellent reporter, because she is.

  12. I’m Canadian and all I can say is he had it coming. For those of you that don’t know, the UN gang of Vancouver is just as brutal as any cartel in Mexico but the difference is our systems aren’t as corrupt so they don’t have free reign. The other gang is called the Red Scorpions and they both deal with cartels down south. In 2009 or 2010 there was a bloody bloody turf war between these groups. I believe 30 + murders in the span of a month and a half including an execution massacre of 6 in Vancouver. As soon as I read he was a member of the UN gang, my sympathy was lost.

    ReplyDelete

    1. 9:19 sure as brutal as mexican cartels...come back say that when they kill over 100s+ in lapse of few days (allende),or when they murder 72 inmigrants or when massive clandestine graves are found or when they start chopping up people cutting their intestines out n spread them on the streets or when they start killing politicians....

      Delete
    2. Correction they are NOT as brutal as any cartel, free reign or not. Both are on completely different sides of the spectrum. Please don't try to make the situation sound worst. I never understood why people praise the bad of their city/area they live.It doesn't make any sense. Do you expect us to think your tough because their "as brutal as the cartel" any knowledgeable reader of this site will inform you that is simply not true, as I did. A gang is just that a GANG. Cartels operate with impunity and create evil atrocities.

      Delete
    3. 30 murders in a month, try 30 murders in 24 hours. Can't compare to a cartel. There's gangs in Chicago with higher murder rates. Calm down Hoosier you're completely safe to watch your hockey lmao

      Delete
    4. Try 200 plus murders in 2-3 days..

      Delete
    5. That's just silly. The UN is not as brutal or even as close to any cartels. America is soft compared to Mexico, and Canada is even softer. There are gangs in America with a way higher body count than the UN, it's just that in Canada, its relatively safe, so the few gangs with a little bit of organization that exist, make headlines. Compare Canadian penitentiaries to ones found in America or Mexico, and it will give you a good idea of what kinds of criminals Canada has.
The UN doesn't travel and convoys and target police or military, as the cartels do. How many beheadings have the UN done, how many bodies hanging from bridges, how many bodies turned into acid soup, how many politicians and journalists killed... NONE

    7. All I’m saying is you put these guys down in Mexico and they’re capable of the same type of crimes. Obviously Canada and Mexico are two very different countries so the crime levels are tolerated and prosecuted differently. I haven’t been under a rock I think you have if you don’t know about these gangs.

  15. Excerpt from the Vancuver link posted by @ 6:59

..."Police sources say he maintained links with Mexican cartels to broker bulk cocaine shipments to Canada that would then be sold by the gang.

He was also a suspect in the 2012 murder in Port Moody of Independent Soldier gangster Randy Naicker, although Manj was never charged. Two others linked to the UN earlier pleaded guilty to having roles in the Naicker murder conspiracy.

Police also say Manj’s violent demise in Mexico is likely an indication that B.C.’s bloody gang war between the UN and the Wolf Pack gang coalition has spilled over into that country."

  24. There has been many UN Members getting killed in Mexico in recent years also there enemies the Hells Angels/Wolfpack Alliance..Nabil Akhalil was killed in a Mexican car dealership in Aug. His family in Canada r heavy Cartel connected thru his Sister who is married to a Mexican national & Cartel Capo. Nabils death wud most likely be connected to Jodh Manjs death. There groups have been killing each other for a decade in Canada.. even . Going back to Elliot”Taco”Castenada a Mexican member of the UN. He was there guy on the ground in Mexico, used his Spanish to talk directly with Cartel suppliers... Thomas Gisby was another Heavy Coke Importer with BLO ties.. it’s said that Hell’s Angels/Wolfpack used There Mexicans to put a hit on Gisby, for he was the supplier of the UN/Dhak Gang and therefore killing Gisby wud end there money “war funds”..
Salih Sahbaz was another UN Gang member killed in Sinaloa , months before Thomas Gisby was killed.. Now there’s been 4-5 Hells Angels killed in Mexico in recent years so one can only assume they are atleast loosely connected with the UN murders in Mexico.

    3. Sorry bro but none of those guys are or were Hells Angels members ..and I know this for a fact .. they may have had links and been associates but not members as it states in all the articles .. however theres a BIG difference between associates and links and actually being a member of the Hells Angels MC .. you can actually go to the Hells Angels world web site and there is a list of members that passed away the dates back to the early 1950s and none of the above names are on that list .. but let me say this.. let me give you an example .. let’s say you were a basketball fan and you knew Kobe Bryant for example .. you guys were good friends you guys hung out went A few night clubs see him around town .. sometimes you even play basketball together ..now being that you know Kobe and talk to Kobe and associate with Kobe and have links to Kobe and do all of the above with Kobe does that mean you’re a member of the Los Angels Lakers .. No it doesn’t ..it just means you associate yourself with Kobe and have Links to Kobe .. im just trying to clarify a point here cause in the real world of war ..not just in this article we’re commenting on but in ALL wars ..it’s extremely important to know the difference between associates/links/members in wars like this because the position and importance of the person that is killed will almost ALWAYS determine the RESPONSE .. I’m not saying the 3 guys named above killed in Mexico weren’t important.. I’m just saying they weren’t Hells Angels .. and that’s a fact .. again no disrespect to you .. I do appreciate the feed back .. have a good one fellas
