The arrest warrant, completed by a Public Ministry, was issued based on criminal case 127-2018 because Rosalinda González Valencia had not been brought to justice. She was reportedly on probation on bail and had not appeared to sign with the appropriate authority. La Jefa had been detained in May 2018, as reported by Borderland Beat, by agents of the Armed Navy in a luxury apartment located in a residential area of ​​the municipality of Zapopan, in Jalisco, but was released a few months later after paying a guarantee of 1.5 million pesos.

The court issued an order to link the proceedings against González Valencia in relation to the crime of operations with resources of illicit origin in the modalities of acquiring, concealing, and transferring within the national territory. The authorities have identified her not only as the wife of Mencho but as the administrator of the cartel, the head of the payroll, and the head of contracts.
