| A large operation by the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) was carried out this Thursday, January 20, in an exclusive neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. |
At approximately 4:00AM, it was reported that a large number of elements, vehicles, and helicopter gunships from Sedena were guarding the Marina Vallarta subdivision. Reports on social networks described the site as a "war zone" due to the heavy mobilization of the Army.
“It looks like a war zone...and even more so here with the Navy...helicopters hovering from 3:00AM and already landed inside the golf course, soldiers from the Navy at the airport. Local and state police,” wrote a neighbor in the area on Twitter.

The event occurred in the streets of Gaviotas and Pelícanos in the Marina Vallarta subdivision, in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, where some 150 Army troops showed up, according to the versions, to surround a luxurious residence. Unofficially, it was said that an alleged high-ranking drug trafficker related to the CJNG was arrested. From the golf course, the detainee was transferred to the nearby airport in a UH-60 Blackhawk or MI-8 helicopter and then flown to Mexico City.
Given the secrecy of the federal authorities, no details about the operation have been released. However, the alleged arrest of at least one person has emerged, as well as the alleged seizure of a luxury car (a BMW X5) and a residence.
According to reports, the elements of the Sedena guarding the place pointed out to those who were curious that they could not record or take pictures with their cell phones. They mentioned "superior orders" and emphasized that they were not authorized to report what happened.
While the operation was underway, a military plane from Islas Marias carrying high-level military officials flew to the Jalisco mainland. The aircraft, a Bombardier DHC-202-Q-8 is used exclusively to transport high-ranking military personnel and has a capacity of 36 people.

ReplyDeleteSuch intense incidents weren't that rampant in PV. However, I do recall hearing the gunshots from Distrito 5 all the way to my Marina condo when Aristoteles Sandoval was assassinated.
I was watching the Selena documentary on Netflix when I thought I heard fireworks. I rem looking at the time and it was 1:40am, and I thought to myself- who's this genius blasting fireworks this late?!
In the morning, my friend who lived at the high rise across from Distrito 5, messaged me and told me there was a shooting.
When she sent me the article, it mentioned the shooting at occurred at 1:40am...it all made sense as I realized those pops weren't fireworks after all lol

ReplyDeleteEl sospechoso, detenido tras un dispositivo realizado por agentes del Ejército, ocurrió en las calles de Gaviotas y Pelícano en el fraccionamiento Marina Vallarta, según las versiones, para rodear una lujosa residencia.
Según los primeros reportes, el detenido se desempeñaba como el operador del CJNG en la zona. En noviembre de 2021, se dio a conocer que tanto el Fresa como el 010, entregaron despensas a la población de Tuxpan, en la entidad federativa de Nayarit.
También se informó que en este operativo era buscado el Mencho, quien fuera policía en el sur del estado de Sinaloa y pasó de liderar un grupo local inicialmente aliado del Cártel de Sinaloa, a encabezar a uno de los principales distribuidores de drogas sintéticas del continente, de acuerdo con reportes de Estados Unidos.
We are seeing some conflicting reports on who it is. Saying its a CJNG leader named "Don Carlos", some identify as El Fresa of Nayarit.....La Fresa Jose Alfredo is of La Familia Michoacana so they might have mixed up their research.
