The Attorney General for the Republic (PGR) confirmed that Gonzalo Ceresano Escribano, alias “Z-18” and/or “El Cuije”, was detained in Peubla (located to the east of Mexico City and west of the port of Veracruz). He is considered to be one of the founding members of “Los Zetas” and boss of the plaza in Puebla.
According to information obtained from unofficial sources, the arrest of “Z-18” happened around noon this past Friday in the Plaza Las Fuentes hotel, located on Hermanos Serdán boulevard .
There were no major obstacles in the operation, the arrest went down peacefully and was conducted by local PGR authorities in Puebla. The warrant was issued for involvement in the business of kidnapping.
The narcotrafficker is considered one of the most sought after criminals by the PGR in the state of Jalisco.
According to his personal history. Gonzalo Ceresano Escribano, was originally a member of the Mexican armed forces since 9/1/92.
On May 1rst, 1999, he was dishonorably discharged for desertion, according to the files from the Secretary of National Defense.
