Seventeen inmates tunneled their way out of a prison in the Mexican border city of Reynosa, authorities in the northern state of Tamaulipas said Wednesday.
The prison warden and eight guards are being questioned by prosecutors on suspicion of complicity in the jailbreak, the state Public Safety Office said.
The absence of the 17 escapees was noted Tuesday and the prison immediately activated the standard protocol in such cases, conducting a head count and search under the supervision of an agent from the federal Attorney General’s Office.
Authorities soon determined that the inmates escaped through a tunnel leading from the prison laundry, the Tamaulipas state government said.
Federal police and army troops were dispatched to reinforce security at the prison in Reynosa, a city just across the border from McAllen, Texas.

What? That's fucking ridiculous..tunneling your way out of a prison, what is this a fucking cartoon? Geeesus! I got a word for you "inside job!" There is no way in hell..inmates are going to be able to construct a tunnel without prison officials knowing about it! It's their job for christ sake..let me guess the chief response from the prison officials being questioned is.."yo no se.."
ReplyDelete500 tally bans tunneled out of prison right under the noses of the US army...what do you expect from Mexico..it is amazing it was only 15...i guess the rest didn't have the mordida and so had to stay in jail
ReplyDeleteThe tunnel for the tally bans was made from the outside and the prison was under the control and supervision of Afghans, not Americans.

ReplyDeleteLOL, you stole my comment..obviously the 2nd poster didn't do his homework or get his facts straight. Plus, we are talkin bout Mexico, which I would think their prison sysyem would be just a tad bit more evolved then the Afghans. No offense 'lito brito' I rather enjoy it when you go 'head to head' with your nemesis 'tar-dent.' lol
hahaha...yep, lito brito is at it again - skewing facts as part of an anti-US agenda. And yet sometimes the comments are well thought out and insightful....not this time though.
ReplyDeleteirregardless of how the tunnel was made, and us the Americans did have ultimate supervision, even the the grunts may have been Afgans 500 please a prison is a prison the sear number is ridiculous..no matter what....
