2010 compact Zeta "Monstruo" found in Jalisco
After the recent confrontation between the Zetas and the Carteles Unidos in Florencia de Benito Juarez, Zacatecas, the Mexican Army began operations throughout the state and in Jalisco.
In the municipality of Santa María de los Ángeles, Jalisco they located several vehicles said to have been used in recent battles, including what appears to be a compact version of the 2010 Zeta Monstruo.
The compact steel armored Monster 2010 has a top speed of 80 kph and presented the traditional side hatches as well as a modernized gun turret design. Although the vehicle was found in Jalisco, it is said to have been made in Tamaulipas and transported to Zacatecas were it was donated to a local Zeta cell. Reports indicate that the 2010 compact version of was the prototype for the 2011 design.
The vehicle, which could hold up to ten passengers, has four wheel drive, a tow hitch for transport, armor covered wheels, a stereo system, and satellite communication equipment.
Just a few weeks ago the Mexican Army located the 2011 Zeta Monster in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas.

All it needs are some 20 inch chrome rims and a sticker on the back with somebody's last name.
ReplyDeleteI guess the point of these is to engage the enemy, not the military, I don't see how much of a use they would be against military equipment and armored vehicles.
ReplyDeleteKinda bizarre trend, I wonder if it will catch on other groups as other have, special forces groups, insignia bearing vests, interrogation videos.
This piece of crap wouldn't stand a chance against a .50 barrett with rafous rounds.

wow it shows the weakness of the sorry ass police to allow this type of shit to simply roll down the streets mexico is going no were real fast
ReplyDeleteStereo system? Are they listening to those "banned" narcocorridos when they're terrorizing the town?
ReplyDelete@ 9:09 PM Do you think all 12 of the on duty police officers should show up to battle them with 6 38 specials and 35 bullets. These small towns don't have many police and most share their weapons. They are so out matched, they have no business responding unless they have a death wish. A lot of the time, they attack the police station first to send the message to stay inside.
ReplyDeleteThis is a bad mofo'er whe it comes in contact with SUV that are armoured as well. This will roll to the front of a line and unleash hell. It is not meant to attack the military. This is for other cartels only and it is the M1 as far as cartels are concerned. Armoured Escalades fall to the side of this. That much weight and speed presents a huge problem for ordinary armor. This could destroya series of armor if it had ben deployed incorrectly. I have not seen a test as to what an RPG or AT-4 or LAW would do to this. I imagine a LAW or AT-4 would kill it. RPG's are not accurate and will bounce off shit. Since these vehicles are becoming more common, you might expect to see more seizures of anti-tank capable munitions. Inevitably, the response will be use of weapons above the presented threat and these weapons will be captured in areas where vehicles like this are known to operate. It is not out of th question to see entire families who are crouching in a home getting greased by a wayward RPG that had bent up fins. If this esculates to the use of anti-tank weapons in the streets, what can possibly be done?
ReplyDeleteThat thing looks insane.guessing it doesn't have a prius engine.I love how it has a stereo system, they need their tunes for the brawl
ReplyDeletecant wait to see what the guys on Top Gear will say about this "mexican tank" :)
ReplyDeleteHaa Haa so it's alright to just drive around looking for trouble in this piece of crap!"
ReplyDelete@ J I don't think the cartels go out there and try to engage in a shootout with the military, they avoid the military at all costs but sometimes they run into a military troops or somebody tips off the military. The real question is why do the municipal police/ministerial or state police rarely engage the cartels in shootouts. I've been to Mexico and the military or the federal police are scary as hell, you have to be really brave to engage the military.
ReplyDeletesomeday those pinche indio Engineers will
ReplyDeleteoutsource their designs to China and get back some real blueprints, this is comical on so many levels, im thinking that turret is actually the stove vent for Maruchan.
What U guys fail to understand is these so call idiots are actually progressing in this, considering the evolution of this contraptions they are quite advance, in the fact that most countries rely on major weapon manufactures to provide them with their tactical equipment, of which is mostly takes them years to develop... on a side note what catches my imagination is the front stabilizer this contraption has on the front bumper, what would you need a stabilizer for? Rocket launcher?
ReplyDeleteguy above... you are so fucking right....
ReplyDelete@May 22, 2011 8:04 PM You don't really have to be brave to engage the military, just high on cocaine.
ReplyDeleteThese guys are CLOWNS, Payasos! Mad max Beyond Thunderdome. Sinaloa Cartel Members do the same thing, but their Trucks are More low key. Sinaloa Trk doors open up vertically within an armored skin. This is a crude form of re-enforcment.
