"La Linea" and "Los Zetas" alliance announced in Parral, Chihuahua.
The city of Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, awoke Thursday morning to the presence of a "narco" banner and grafitti announcing the long rumored alliance between two of bloodiest criminal organizations in Mexico: La Linea and Los Zetas.
Both carried the same message to the Army and the population of Parral: Congratulations 42nd military zone for fighting el Chapo's people. In less than 15 days Parral is ours. Sincerely, La Linea and Z (Los Zetas).
The marriage of convenience between the money from the drugs and trafficking routes of Vicente Carrillo Fuentes and La Linea and the weapons and fighters of Los Zetas has seldom been overt, likely due to the discipline that Vicente Carrillo exerts over his organization and the parts of Chihuahua under his control, which are being disputed by the Sinaloa cartel.
In a video recently posted on Borderland Beat, a member of the Sinaloa Cartel under interrogation by members of La Linea reveals that state and municipal authorities in Parral are on the payroll of the Sinaloa cartel.

The reference to the Army refers to the division of forces across 12 regional commands that control 45 military zones. The 42nd military zone is headquartered in Hidalgo del Parral.

This won't end well. Zeta's and Linea? I wonder if it's a true partnership, or if La Linea has been absorbed by the Zeta's, like the Beltran Leyva's were.
ReplyDeletez will go down its only a matter of time
ReplyDeleteZetas seem to be taking over everywhere. Lord have mercy on those that live in their territory
ReplyDelete@ 6:16 and @ 6:29. Which is it? I read BB almost daily and am still surprised that half of the people who comment on here say the Z's are falling quickly and will be wiped out by the alliances of the other major cartels (CDS and CDG). The other half of the people talk about how the Z's are getting stronger. My question to anyone is this: Are the Z's growing and expanding OR are they being pushed out by others?
ReplyDeleteDesperate attempt of la linea...
ReplyDeleteShows how weak la linea is they go to the zetas for help lol
ReplyDeleteThis is good news their allies now, its only a matter of time before they back stab-each other and start killing one another...
ReplyDelete"keep your friends close, and your enemies closer!"...
@ anon 7:33
ReplyDeleteSadly, Z's are getting stronger. It is not "just a matter of time" til la compania is gone....
This is not some recent thing. Z has been growing for several years expanding in all directions. Even being the military's absolute focus, they continue their wars with everyone. I am wondering about Sinaloa. That Plaza is on fire and they don't seemed to be protecting it well. I wonder if the smaller cartels smell blood and are moving in on them. And it seems that every report about the CDG and Zetas present that CDG is winning but I am not at all sold on this. Zetas are like ants, they just keep coming. There has to be some strong financial and political backers behind them. And the La Linea has stood their ground for years. Just about the time everyone writes them off, they stomp the hell out of the other cartel. No one is going down anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Zetas just keep getting stronger and stronger. CDS and CDG hostly can't do anything to stop them. Sinaloa and Golfo have tried to take them out but it only backfires on them. Zetas just seem to be taking over their terretories example: (Durango, Nayarit, Tamaulipas)
ReplyDeleteF###ing Punks. A hot bullet to the head will cure them of thier life in gangs and crime!!
ReplyDeleteWorthless traitors!!
ive lived in Juarez, i know this "alliance" is not new. El Viceroy has been having zetas as personal guards for years. it was only a matter of time before they came to Chihuahua to keep La Linea from seizing control of the plaza to Sinaloa.
ReplyDeleteI can only see bad things for CDS, they are infighting in Durango (M's vs Flacos ppl), beside having the zetas coming in to the urban areas of durango (I have family there also and have visited many times).
Z are probably gonna take tamaulipas soon also.
The once Federacion de Carteles Unidos (CDS, CDG, FM) is fracturing, FM is no more, theyre also infighting LFM vs Caballeros Temp. im not sure sinaloa will be able to help out CDG anymore, cuz of their problems.
just a thought...i know im all over the place with this...i in no way prefer on cartel over the other...many of my friends have died in the hands of diff cartels, and for no fault of their own.

@11:59am
ReplyDeleteI agree, this is not new news.
CDG has most of Tamualipas and are in Nuevo Leon, Veracruz, Coahuila, Tabasco SLP destroying the vermin.
ReplyDeleteLa LETRA GRANDE en expancion, son como las pilaz energizer SISGUEN Y SIGUEN Y SIGUEN
ReplyDeleteHope they dont take parral, I go thru there when I go to mexico. El flacos base is supposed to b outa parral. Flaco from la gente nueva. Im not sure about southetn chiuahua but in northern dgo close to parral there are alot of cds people. Real strong hold. When cds first started fighting juarez, alot of people switched from la linea to zetas in dgo.
ReplyDeleteWhether or not people 'knew' this before, it's news because it's been announced, that is the new thing we are seeing, not rumors of an alliance between VCF and Zeta's, but actual proof of an alliance.
ReplyDeleteMilitary strategists move the people out covertly, quietly... then show your might ... drop a couple of strategically placed bombs. Take 'em out with the force that will have them thinkin twice about these declarations and alliances.
ReplyDeleteWhat is better, anyway--citizens massacared piecemeal while the cartel gangs strut their might--or a few possible casualities while the enemy is taken out--forcefully and completely? What is better--towns like Miguel Aleman, Mier and others abandoned, shot up and burned out--or military might taking the town and enemy out--with an eventual chance to rebuild free of these murderers? Why drag out agonizing heartbreak and hardships when you can give people a real chance at freedom as these thugs are systematically taken out. I believe they will run for the hills--scared, defeated, and maybe to the lions den.
lol are you seriously recommending the military/government destroy entire towns of people with missiles? All your posts are about violence or killing the narcos, maybe you are missing something in this saga.
ReplyDelete@ J
ReplyDeleteWithout a powerful show of military force, do you think the cat and mouse game is going to stop? While everyone continues to live in fear. The cartels really believe they have the upper hand.
Perhaps you did not read very carefully. I said evacuate the people 1st.
@J
ReplyDeleteWithout an overwhelming, powerful show of military force, do you actually think this cat and mouse game is going to stop? Did you read what I wrote carefully? I said covertly, quietly evacuate the people first. And I think this tit for tat gives the cartel/thugs the feeling of invinciability.
Research the military strategies in other countries which have led to a successful outcome. I believe this type of thing must be acted upon quickly and decisively OR you will have continued piecemeal slaughter.
It may seem like I am only for violence, but then you have selectively missed my posts regarding concern for innocent civilians. That they live in an atmosphere of fear cannot continue indefinately. (Reread the post written by a Reynosean as an open letter to Pres Calderon.) People are begging for something different to happen to alay the fears and danger to all.
So, how does a country act decisively to eradicate the enemy of the people who are terrorizing them? That is a question that needs to be explored thoroughly.
Notice I pose many of my statements in the form of questions. Meaning, if you have a better idea, I'm all ears!
@ Layla2...I don't think any of this will ever end without the government allowing the cartels to fight until they make a truce.
ReplyDeleteThis is so much bigger than the military winning a small battle in a small town. This is more about local and state government versus federal and military. It is about political parties jockeying for power in the next election. It is about huge wealth and their pawns.
TRC
Whats up with spray painting Brick walls. Leaving thier mark like a cat spraying an area that does not belong to them. Is it in the Mexican "Culture" or wha? These people should be dealt with harshly for spraying paint on the wall of that business!! F###ing slobs!! They have that crap on thier own bedroom walls!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are the same people who never flush the tolet and they think its funny to fart at the dinner table and laugh when the neighbors complain of the smell and noise from thier homes.
@Layla...I have 2 graduate degrees and when I hear the 2 buzz words, research and outcomes, my radar comes out because usually someone is over playing an opinion. I love the research saying, "if you torture numbers long enough, they will say anything you want them to."
ReplyDeleteIf clear decisive military action is so successful, why were the US outcomes so poor and costly in Iraq and Afghanistan?
TRC
After the initial clear and decisive force with which we went into Afghanistan and Iraq, the US govt tempered our military mission with concern with providing democracy and humanitarian aide to the enemy. This behavior essentially tied the hands of our military, prevented them from engaging high-priority targets like power stations and instead had them engaging in cultural relations with a country we were at war with. Slow suicide if you ask me...
ReplyDeleteNow we are in a quagmire that has dragged on for ten years with no end in sight, while our military keep coming home in body bags and we rack up a staggering debt. Is this a way to end a war? Do you think we would have defeated the Natzi's and Japanese during WWII by fighting in this manner?
Do you see a similarity in our engagement in Iraq/Afghanistan and how Mexico is fighting the cartel terrorists? I do.
Im a soldier and i know the type of training Lazcano and Z-40 have and i hate to tell all of you but the Zetas are going to come out on top. Its simple math trained or untrained. If it seems that Chapo Guzman is getting weak and people are leaving him its because Calderon is on his way out and Lazcano already has his hands on Mexicos new President. Once Calderon is out Chapo will have no more protection from the government. Two of his commando groups just left Chapo to go to the other side. The Zetas will take over there just taking a little at a time till there man takes Calderon's place.

ReplyDeleteYour a blow hard!!!
The amount of speculation in this blog is laughable. First of all history: el viceroy inherited a all of his brother's territory, intel, connections and especially money, quietly becoming a billionaire 50 times over while still moving dope and slowly adding to his coffers for a decade before this war broke in 2008. Second: the strategic alliance between lazca and viceroy was a result of the betrayal chapo commited against viceroy and the separation of the zetas from the gulf cartel as result of the gulfs alliance with chapo brokered by el azul, read the real investigative 1st hand Mexican reporting not skewed 2nd hand poorly translated american journalism. Third and last the only opinion that follows some commonsense train of thought is the soldier's prognostication. I have never benefited from any cartel, hence i do not support any cartel, but betrayal is basically what raised hell in Juarez and now hell will spred south across the nation and Culiacan will eventually experience what Juarez has seen for three years running.
ReplyDeleteDFL, I THINK IT SHAMEFUL THAT YOU PUT EVERYTHING IN CAPS. YOU ARE GIVING HISPANICS A BAD NAME HERE ON THIS BLOG. NOT THAT ANYBODY REALLY THINKS THAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY HISPANIC. LMAO AT THE THOUGHT OF IT....

Buela.
ReplyDeleteI am suprised at your very ignorant racist comments. Of all the cartel groupies that write on this blog i thought you were one of the more sensible, i see that i am wrong and that you have the simple minded mentality that people like Ardent have.
It sounds like it really bothers you that i am hispanic but seem "white" to you. Well the fact is that i am hispanic and if i do not seem dumb enough to you to be such then it is you who is stupid and racist. If you belive that talent destroying other peoples property is best done by hispanics, then your just a regular dumb ass who gives our race a bad name. It is shameful all the negative statistics that the hispanics are a big part of. Unemployment, dope dealers child pregantcies, murder, graffting, being the largest population on welfare, test scores in schools, drop out rates, obesity rates the largest prison population the trash filled yards and broken down cars, etc. etc. etc.
Agreeing with idiots only makes you small and your words comical!!
the only thing i say is that you guys who hate zetas are always talking crap why dont you talk crap about the LFM CDS AND CDG ALLIANCE ?? LA LINIA AND Z HAVE TO FIGHT TO THE END CDG IS THE WEAKEST LINK HERE THEY WHENT TO CHAPO FOR HELP TO WIPE OUT A CARTEL THAT THEY GAVE BIRTH TO PUSSYS
