Around 2100 hours on Monday members of the Federal Police and sicarios of the Gulf Cartel engaged in an intense confrontation that occurred in the street Tetela in the neighborhood of Tlaltenango, Cuernavaca, Morelos.
On scene were killed two gunmen, one of them identified as Ulises Martínez González, alias "El Mojo," who was the right arm of Edgar Valdez Villarreal, aka "La Barbie," and was recently positioned to be regional leader of the Gulf Cartel.
Initial reports indicate that in the shooting the sister of El Mojo and another sicario of the Gulf cartel were injured.
El Mojo has been engaged in a long constant struggle with the Beltrán Leyva cartel, and authorities attribute the recent wave of increased violence in recent months in Morelos to that conflict.
However some witnesses say that the men responsible in taking down the leader of the drug organization were not the Federal Police, but they indicate that minutes prior to the deployment of the federal police operation, an armed group of sicarios started the initial confrontation and only after the fact is when police forces arrived to secure the area.
That is great, hopefully the trend continues.

So, the Gulf wants to run the Morelos plaza, and is fighting Beltran Leyva, and whoever else for it? Interesting, I guess this was obvious when they hung up those banners after Scillias son was murdered. I don't think Beltran Leyva's have a chance personally, El Negro and CPS were their front runners til they fell out of favor.
