Mexican authorities have promised to ensure that next year's presidential elections are not undermined by drug-related violence.
The pledge follows the release of an audio recording containing threats by an alleged drug trafficker to people voting in recent state elections in Michoacan.
Al Jazeera's Franc Contreras reports from Mexico City.

Anule the election, send drones, soldados dont wait go after them , its a shame the army cant use all their toys ,cause these jotos like to hide behind honest citizens.
ReplyDeleteTail wagging the dog in Mexico, whats new? Remember the police chiefs interview"we expect our officers to shake people down, but not get out of hand". Crime ,all crime not just drugs, Must be controlled, Mexico society has a abnormally high involvement and TOLERANCE for criminal behavior. Its always been that way and Mexican people have yet to really demand change.
ReplyDeleteMexico being fucked by Mexicans. So what else is new? So, they have this guy's name, they probably know where he is, so why is he not in jail? When is Mexico going to either clean house or stop acting like the honest people run things?
