Sinaloa cartel loses $15 million to the Mexican Army
Mexico's Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) has announced the seizure of $15,350,000 U.S. currency (more than 125 million pesos), 6 kilograms of cocaine and 4 weapons from a home in Tijuana, Baja California.
In a press conference, Sedena spokesman General Ricardo Trevilla Trejo announced the seizure occurred in the colonia Cumbres de Juárez and that the money, drugs and weapons belonged to the Sinaloa cartel headed by Joaquin "el Chapo" Guzman.
No arrests were mentioned in the press conference.
The seizure was the latest action in the Army's ongoing Operation Zorro, a regional counternarcotics offensive in Baja California and Baja California Sur.
This is the second largest cash seizure by Mexico's Army in its fight against the drug cartels. The Army's largest cash seizure, more than $26 million (U.S.), occurred in September 2008 in Culiacan, Sinaloa.
The Army was also active in Tijuana over the weekend with the seizure of 118 kilograms of cocaine and the arrest of one individual this past Sunday in the Sonora neighborhood.
The cocaine seized also belonged to the Sinaloa cartel, according to Sedena.
According to Sedena analysts, the Sinaloa cartel now dominates the entire Baja California peninsula.
Credit for this seizure and arrest was given to an anonymous tip called in to a Sedena citizen's hotline.
Four other persons were arrested over the weekend by Army troops in Tijuana. At the time of their arrest the individuals had 14 weapons, 10 kilograms of mariguana and 458 grams of crystal meth in their possession.

There IS hope! I am heartened with the info that some anonymous citizen tipped off the authorities.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the "tipping point" is becoming here (TJ) and in places like Nuevo Laredo .... We'll see.
Mexico Watcher
Great, now the citizen that tipped of the home is going to end up dead. Snitching on the narcos in Mexico is like a death sentence. I hope it doesn't happen but idealy someone is pissed they lost this hard cash already smuggled in.
ReplyDelete$15 MILLION IN ONE STASH HOUSE AND OUR GOVERNMENT ONLY WANTS TO PAY $5 MILLION FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO CHAPOS CAPTURE??? IN ORDER FOR CHAPO TO BE CAPTURED IT WOULD HAVE TO BE SOMEBODY CLOSE TO HIM THAT WOULD HAVE TO RAT HIM OUT....AND I'M SURE THAT THE PEOPLE HE SURROUNDS HIMSELF WITH ARE MAKING MORE THAN OUR GOVERNMENT HAS TO OFFER...CRAZY!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo arrests? Looks like a payoff.
ReplyDeleteI thought they seized around $300 million in Mexico city from a Chinese pharmacist who was providing la familia with meth producing chemicals?
ReplyDeleteHeads are going to roll for this one, and I mean literally.
ReplyDeleteDon't believe all you here in the Mexican press. This could be a payoff to Mexican Government officials in the area.
ReplyDeleteN--__--
ReplyDeleteAll we can do is speculate whether this is a sign of war, truth, or a lie to make it seem as if they are working hard. No CAF seizures because Tijuana is Arellano?
That $200 million was PGR/federal police
ReplyDeleteThats alot of money! And here I am unemployed. It makes me sick to see this. I hope you die a slow miserable death Chapo... Im a hater!!! :( I'll be lucky if I find a job that pays around 400 to 500 a week here in Texas. These A holes got millions laying around.
ReplyDelete"Todo por no estudiar"...
Lol nobody is stupid we know thats fake ever since they said Sinaloa never had nothing going like seizures arrests only recently they started doing this sinaloas. 1
ReplyDeleteIt is odd that nobody was arrested. There wasn't anyone guarding the stash house when the police arrived?
ReplyDeleteThis is a payoff to the government to continue the fight against the other cartels from the sinaloa based organization. "pa taparle el ojo al macho" this money will finance the military. Don't believe the media
ReplyDelete15 million cash that only profit from 100 kilos a drop in the bucket enough to get someone killed but not enough for the cartel to loose sleep over plain and simple they have more cash than brains but they do have balls and guns ( thanks ATF)
ReplyDeletethis should read los zetas gain 10 million to carry on
ReplyDeleteyou guys read that they own the entire Baja California peninsula.
ReplyDeleteNovember 22, 2011 12:55 PM What do you mean payoff?
ReplyDeleteIf it is a payoff why go public?
I think the Sinaloans are moving more and bigger shipments across the border, and the CAF people are moving less and smaller work, that's why you see the cds losing more.
ReplyDeleteI am sure once all the reporters were done with there interviews and pictures the money was boxed up and sent back to Chapo for their payoff.
ReplyDeleteNovember 22, 2011 3:26 PM Are you saying El Chapo control Mexico?
ReplyDeleteAccording to FORBES El Chapo has a little more than 1 billion dollars, so I will think if someone will control Mexico it will be Carlos Slim Helu since he has 74 billion dollars.
Was made public to confirm payoff was received and in hands of military
ReplyDeleteThey're Finally announcing their payoffs!
ReplyDelete15 million in tj and the stupid Ice agents playing games at the border checking car after car , 10 minutes after they start the searches everyone knows about it instead of crossing the border they go eat, go to the movies , or just visit family and us the regular people have to be stared down by fresh meat out of the academy carrying there brand new m4 rifles and the full body armor, yes they look really tough ( so they think so) punks with attitudes and badges , all for what for nothing all they do is hassle hard working people and believe me they do hassle people stop using drugs and the cartels die simple as that
ReplyDeleteHighly unlikely that it was a common citizen that tipped them off. CAF is still very active in Tijuana and the word on the street is that they still control TJ. Only smarter than before and under the radar. Chapo IS moving weight through TJ but has been taking heavy losses lately. Maybe he doesn't want to pay plaza anymore? Maybe another war coming? Who knows...
ReplyDeleteAnd were can i find the display with the money :) got my passport ready?
ReplyDeletetip line info is just info.if a informant on the payroll gives a tip he gets 20percent. think about that.
ReplyDeleteThis is NOTHING.
ReplyDeleteJajajajaja mamadas de los militares, dinero para combatir los contras
ReplyDeleteSillas said himself that the afo still have cells and active, but el chapos Aquiles is the man with the money. So cds looks like its doing good. Better to have $ seized then key players and allies in tj.
ReplyDeleteIS IT A PAYMENT ?? SOME ONE ASKED NO,ME
ReplyDeleteWhat is going to take to bring Mexico back to the beautiful festive country with all the Mexican culture that it used to be. It is not only drug cortels Its total lawlisnes and out of control. The Government of Mexico had better get control of their country or the cortel and crime will overthrow the Government.
ReplyDeleteif you have ever had a telcel phone , you will know who the real crook is
ReplyDeleteOr the military probably caught a key member of a cartel and that seized money was a pay off to let'em go, since they have to present something to the media for all their hard work, lol. That was probably a quarter of the money, if they paid for the release of a key member or after all the generals take a cut. Just imagine the money they really seized, but they just report $15 million.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to break it to you guys, this is not the frist time a couple million dollars has been confiscated from CDS in Mexico.
ReplyDelete15 millones de dls. es lo que paga el cds al gobierno de mexico por hecharse a un secretario de gobernacion, asi como lo hizo con mourino. aquella ocasion les decomisaron 26 millones de dls. en culiacan, coincidencia ?????
ReplyDelete40 has personel entering from San Diego and pretty soon watch this plaza get nasty ...right in chapo's new lands. funny thing is nobody noticed what was going on in So.Cal trained by american iraq and afghan vets who took payment ...believe or not Im sure something will prove me right in the news
ReplyDeletequien tiene la culpa de que estes valiendo verga?los traficantes?cut it out, dont blame others for your shortcomings, thats not what real men do.take the bull by the horns & stop hating,it just shows que eres un vale-verga!!
ReplyDeleteFransisco Blake misteriously dies in a plane/helicopter crash(Blake leading the war on drugs, was repping for the mexican goverment),after a supposibly high level CDS member is Captured (Limon,Sanchez, repping the CDS),then out of nowhere CDS looses 15Mil??????
ReplyDeleteIts obvious this is between CDS vs Mexican Goverment, maybe CDS is loosing Political Support??
I might be waaaaay off in trying to connect these events, yet again I might not be so far off.
Why doesn't everyone join Sedena then if they are getting those kind of paydays? Seems like you would want to be on the right side of the law.
ReplyDeleteevery little bit the authorities can do is satisfying to me. now get out there and do it again!!
ReplyDeletechapo donates to charities too, the military foundation
ReplyDeleteIf you want even more confusion, read this week's article in the ZETA weekly newspaper.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.zetatijuana.com/2011/11/23/mas-lugartenientes-de-%E2%80%9Cel-chapo%E2%80%9D/
Apparently, from what I understand, last week's tunnel and drugs were given to El Inge by Sinaloa in order to keep the peace. I mean, kinda makes sense...I guess.
Need to read that translated, but yeah, a lot of good information there. TJ just gets more confusing.
ReplyDeletechump change for the boss and it ain't chapo
