"The Hummer" Gets 35 Year Sentence

AP

MEXICO CITY –  A judge in Mexico sentenced a founding member of the Zetas drug cartel to 35 years in prison for kidnapping and organized crime activity, prosecutors announced Thursday.

Zetas lieutenant Jaime Gonzalez Duran was known as "The Hummer" before he was arrested in the northern city of Reynosa in 2008. Prosecutors had called the army deserter one of Mexico's most dangerous criminal suspects.

The Attorney General's Office said that Gonzalez Duran had previously been sentenced to 16 1/2 years for money laundering and another 21 years for weapons possession.
At the time of his arrest, authorities found a cache of 540 rifles, 165 grenades, 500,000 rounds of ammunition and 14 sticks of TNT in Reynosa believed to have been linked to him.

To confront continued drug cartel violence, the federal government has said the key is to clean up and professionalize Mexico's often antiquated, poorly equipped and corrupt state and local police.

However, the federal government reported Thursday that only about 25 percent of Mexico's 430,000 local and state police have been subjected to background and vetting tests.
The country also has about 57,000 federal police who have already been vetted.

The government says it will distribute 17.3 billion pesos ($137 million) to local forces this year, if they participate by carrying out tests for commanding officers.

Four states have already reached full background testing requirements; the other 17 states are expected to do so by January 2013.

  1. I'm assuming an ”army deserter” is like going AWOL. is there punishment for that?

  2. I hope someone vets the vetters' not to mention the mother humping vetters'.

I think I read on BB that 14 of the of the states are not under full government control. Some of the commanders there must have been vetted by the gangs. Its vet counter vet. Once everyone is vetted they can hide in the forts and get vetting check ups.

The security companies must be licking their lips at the 137 million. Things will get better now, eh? Cha Ching.

  4. Seems at least in the case of Gonzalez-Duran, the system in Mexico worked. He received more time than his former boss, Osiel Cardenas-Guillen did in the USA.

  10. WTF??? Mexico needs the death penalty so bad, not as a deterrent (you cant deter crackheads)but just to eliminate the garbage they arrest. This pendejo will be out in no time.

  11. For the love of all things Mexican, execute these fuckers!!!!!!! Mexico can never say they want this problem to go away with the half ass attempts at stoping it. You cant fight AK's with Nerf guns and prisons where you can get prostitutes delivered. When is Mexico going to elect a non-Mexian to fix this?

Or ..... do the civilian death penalty stone them to death trap them pick up their weapons and kill them. Is better to die by your feet then to live all your life at your knees.

  19. Mexican legal system or lack there of is a fucking JOKE. If it was not so. so. SO SERIOUS it would be funny! This piece of shit is guilty of crimes similar to HITLER! He has engaged in TREASONOUS ACTS against MEXICO! It would take many pages to list ALL OF THE CRIMES that he is guilty of and yet he only receives 35 years? He is responsible for the deaths of many, many people for crying out loud! He will be back on the streets in no time with Mexicos poor prison system which allows these scum bags to just walk right out the doors!

Mexico needs to grow some nuts on its balls and implement A PUBLIC DEATH PENALTY WHICH IS TELEVISED FOR THE ENTIRE COUNTRY TO SEE! There is no way a scum bag such as this should ever escape anything less than a legally sanctioned sentence of death! When is Mexico going to GET REAL!

  20. This Hummer Vato should have been given Lead to the Head Treatment. If the shot is properly placed it completely cures that person of his life of Crime forever. He is no longer a threat to others or himself. It works very, very well and its a better treatment than a Mexican Prison for even one day!!! LOLOL!!! A GOOD ZETA IS A DEAD ZETA!!

  23. If saw him killing somebody would u testify? If Mexican law id a joke, why is he in prison? 8:40 r u dumb? Of course going AWOL is punishible in any country. Death penalty? Wont make a difference these animals face it every day and don't get discouraged. American army jajaja u would have a Catholic jihad on u hands u will unite them too attack American army. Not to mention noncriminal mexicans who have a deep rooted hate towards American gvt. Not american people.maybe if addicts would cut down. It would help some. Marina is whooping ass on N.L and Tamaulipas death sentence on the battlefield is fine with me. A lot of comments here sound like the ugly American tourist always complaining whithout having an understanding on that country or maybe looking at u r own countries flaws. If ur against America u r a terrorist. Look is mexicans killing mexicans. They are not invading another's country there are not dropping bombs on weddings. They are not giving. The coke away they sell it and addicts buy it. So stop the stupid habit of generalizing everything and everyone.8 :40 if u are so ashamed of ur country mexico stop saying ur mexican cause u shame us MALINCHE. American army needs a rest from protecting and dying for rich jews and billionaire arabs money and monarch dictatorships. Shit Dick CHANEY LOVED U GUYS U MADE HIM A BILLIONAIRE. 27. Its funny how everyone always saying 40 ratted them out?Why the fuck would 40,be rattin his best people out,and then have to fill a vacant spot again.By all means,if the prick gets to be a liability, some of these people get put into position because they are capable of doing the job,so why would he then give them up?Rumor and bullshit, you can put people in their place by a couple of warnings, not gettin them lifed up and snitching on you,or better still, disappear them and they aint tellin nothing. All this "40 snitched on em"doesn't make any sense.

    1. Well L-40 isn't military trained and a lot of these guys were higher up than him, Hummer & Mamito & Lucky were all original Zetas. Sitching on these guys and Lazca clears his way to the top. If L-40 wants to lead Zetas he has toclear out all the original Zetas (except maybe Taliban). I don't know that it's true, but it does have a logic.

  28. March 16, 2012 5:12 PM You make some interesting points in a bigger bigger picture type way - Mexico and its grip on america is extremely entrenched - this shit can. not. be. stopped.

Jaime gonzalez was my favorite of all the drug traffickers this dude was combat elite that is just so crazy

  29. Hummer is going to a Maximum Security prison where there haven't been any big time jailbreaks since Chapo. People keep talking about Zetas can break anyone out but they tried to break the former head of CGD out & failed back when they were still Gulf. Hummer won't get out till he is very old, if ever. All those other jailbreaks were at lesser facilities.

  30. How the native Mexicans can support such a corrupt country is unbelievable. Had the judge been directly affected by this assclown, I wonder if the sentence would've been harsher. This is ridiculous it's almost comedic.

Bitch and whine all you want about the US.
The fact remains that Mexico is killing itself, there is no comparison between the US and Mexico.Every country on this planet has murders, and you can pick facts till it makes you feel better. Here is a fact,35 bodies dumped on a city highway, mass graves being found all the time, videos depicting be-headings,dismemberment,the murder of authority,on and on.There is no comparison.Mexico is corrupt from top to bottom, and people like you only make it worse,by idiotic nationalism.Grow up pendejo.
