Banda norteno singing artist Jesus "El Travieso"
Quintero was reported to have been killed in the community of Tierra Blanca in Culiacan, Sinaloa. He
was just 27 years of age.
The incident was reported at around 1730 hours in the street
Matias Lazcano, near the intersection of Economistas and Sociologos. Police
were called to the scene and arrived at the address 2236 where they were
directed to the body of the victim. The victim was that of a male and was later
identified as Jose de Jesus Quintero Salas, resident of the community of Villa
Universidad.
It soon discovered that the victim was that of the norteno
singer "El Travieso" Quintero who hails from Sinaloa and has had numerous
romantic hits in the Mexican music industry.
According to an unconfirmed source at the scene, the victim
was intercepted by several men inside a vehicle, who blocked his path, while the
victim was walking in the street Matias Lazcano. One of the occupants chased
the victim on foot while armed with a 38 Special handgun. The victim then fled
to his residence and the assailant chased him to the backyard where the victim
was shot several times causing his immediate death. The men then managed to
flee on their vehicle undetected.

I believe that "El Travieso" has some relation to the Caro Quintero clan, through Jose Gil Caro Quintero.

ReplyDeleteIn Mexico, people are murdered for little or no reason at all. Perhaps the singer did not want to sing a song or songs that glorify the drug cartel who was responsible for his murder. Perhaps he was murdered because he didn't want to give his money to beggars (cuota). Some will kill you if you don't hand them your new sneakers, little things like that.
If he was involved in drug dealings of some sort, selling drugs for one clan of criminal,s another clan that found out about it killed him. But in civilized countries THE COMPETITION IS NOT MURDERED as is done in Mexico. In Mexico, a child like mentality exists in those who carry guns and work for criminal organization, they are like high chair tyrants (llorones) who demand things from mommy and if mommy doesn't deliver then the cry baby tries to make the mother pay by driving her nuts and testing her nerves. If the child is old enough he may try plan B and fire a shot of mashed potatoes in mother's face by springing tension on his spoon loaded with a scoop of potatoes and then release the loaded spoon towards mommy's face ... ja ja ja.

Cartel years are shorter than dog years. Look at the age of those dying, 15-30 years old is what you hear most. I would say a cartel year is equivalent to around 5 or 6 calendar years.
