The criminal group of Knights Templar revealed alleged agreements that helped
the PRI recover the state of Michoacán in the elections of November 11,
2011.
Through
various banners placed in Michoacán and Guanajuato, said that the approach was
direct collaborations with Governor Fausto Vallejo.
"The last three generations of leaders have had ties to our organization, the Caballeros Templarios and La Familia Michoacana, the connections must be indirect, but solid." cited the messages addressed to the governor of Michoacan.
"In your case, you know there are important figures of the top level who not only sympathize with us but who have subsisted with us."
The banners asked Governor Vallejo to define his position in the criminal organization.
The banners also blamed the Governor for the recent assassination of the former Mayor of Tiquicheo, [Maria Santos Gorrostieta] which was claimed by the Templarios themselves.
They noted that the commitments made during the election were held with PRI leaders of the campaign, but did not reveal any names.
"We as a group of outlaws were encouraged to show apathy towards the political party PAN by important leaders that we had a mutual coordination with, it was extensive, arduous and especially expensive."
According to these messages broadcasted in various parts of Michoacán, the aim of this strategy was to stop the PAN and assist PRI candidates.
The messages made by the Caballeros Templarios asked Governor Vallejo to repay the favors made during the electoral process.
Also in Guanajuato
Messages also were placed in Guanajuato, in the municipalities of Penjamo, Acambaro Cuerámaro, Jerécuaro, Celaya and Guanajuato.
The criminal organization, Caballeros Templarios stated that they supported, funded and mobilized people from the Vallejo campaign.
"We are doubtful of the commitments made to us by the leaders of the PRI ", stated the message on the banner.
The cartel also noted that it was their duty to assure the PAN party would be defeated in the Michoacán governorship race.
The
narco-banners accused the Vallejo family of sympathizing with the Caballeros Templarios.
The cartel announced that there will be two more releases in banners, demanding that the PRI and the Governor of Michoacan keep their word to the Templarios.
"What is your position before this group officially battles with you?, Unofficially we are waiting for the fruits of our labor from the (PRI) party, which for the moment we do not see. We know that before the media you must appear fair and impartial in fighting us, but we unofficially have NO other choice after these months you been in office.", the Templarios stated in one of their posts.

ReplyDeleteIn my personal opinion, no government local, state or federal should make any type of agreement with any criminal organization. However, if that is the way it works in Mexico so be it. Peace for all.

ReplyDeleteWith out getting too deep into it ill give you a geographic outline. anything north of dolores hidalgo is more than likely Z, south is CT. that zone is where you get fighting between Z and CT. in the southeast Acambaro area is LFM (who retain what it seems somewhat of non-agression with CT). Central and central south into Cuitzeo are CT. penjamo area in west is between Z's, Menchos, and CT who are fighting, commiting crimes and blaming it on eachother(do not travel these roads at night)
reading El Sol del Bajio will get you familiarized with crime in the area.

ReplyDeleteRemember it was just about two weeks ago that an assistant (?) attorney general for the State of Guanajuato was gunned down at 10AM in a major intersection of Leon. This went down right in front of a school with kids seeing the aftermath. Four sicarios were riding 2 motorcycles when they came up and killed him. Most people say the attorney generals office was coming down on the gangs and drug sales.
It's sad but Leon & Guanajuato have been considered pretty safe places but even they may be changing.
I recently met a very nice person from Leon and I'll be vague so as to protect them. Basically this person was telling me a family member was murdered in the last year - the reason was simple extortion. Within the industry in which they worked there is regular shake downs of people in their line of work. This guy didnt want to pay.
In neither of the cases above does anyone expect anything too positive to come from the cops. Again, it is sad but Leon/Guanajuato may be in some trouble. Another rumor I just heard was that there was some new heat between La Familia Michoacan and the Zetas trying to get a foothold. Not a major battle but people are scoping things out as they say.

ReplyDeletein the triangle like Jerecuaro, Acambaro, and Tarandacuao LFM is involved in retail drug sales, extortion, and kidnapping. 23 police in tarandacuao where detained last year for homicide and other crimes while at the service of LFM. 17 in acambaro as well last year were let go. this could have been legit law enforcement clean up or maybe a changing of the guard for the new plaza chief as "El Triste" was captured around the same time. or they could be the sacrificial lambs to keep up the appearance of law enforcement.
my opinion: most would be quick to judge the last two but Guanajuato is rare i guess in Mexico and it could very well be a legit attempt to clean up. Overall in my observations, the police generally do look out for people. And the people generally do trust them to do their jobs (in my municipality of 15,000 people there have been only 3 murders in the last 10 years - all crimes of passion) For example, one thing they do is they escort the buses for night shift women who work in the city factories but live in the country. they've been doing this for many years and people speak positive about it. In my view they are polite, are helpful, dont disrespect people, dont get involved with people, ive never been asked for a mordida, ive never been harassed, and i dont know of anyone who has in that area where im from. And trust me where im from it dont matter who you are people talk shit about you if its deserved. everybody knows everbody so if a cop or official ever did something, people would be talking all kinds of shit. which they do, mostly about the officials, and to their face too! ive seen it.
