CJNGs Split With Sinaloa and the Possible Fallout

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat
I have long thought "what if"...what if Letra and CJNG created an alliance. Stranger things have happened and from a tactical move it makes sense.  Presently, as it is, no one can oust Sinaloa from their position of most powerful organized criminal group in Mexico..but with these two brutal groups together it more than levels the playing field. Add a few other allied groups and hell will truly come to Mexico.  Below is a Video released today about the subject of Sinaloa and CJNG.  I have written an overview of the report below which goes with the video.

A report from Stratfor  reveals that the Jalisco Cartel New Generation (CJNG) has begun conflict  against their ex ally;  LA Corona the allied group of the Sinaloa Cartel as well as the Knights Templar and the Gulf Cartel.
The CJNG is becoming  one of the most powerful organizations of organized crime in Mexico, with their operations  now extending to several Mexican states.
During the second half of 2011 and up to 2012, the CJNG dominated criminal enterprises in Jalisco, defending the interests of the Sinaloa Cartel and fighting the incursion of their rivals, so this rupture is a significant hit to the Sinaloa federation.
The state of Jalisco specifically in the Metropolitan area of Guadalajara has long been a strategic base for the operations of Mexican organized crime. It performs as a transportation center for  drug traffickers.
The Mexican cartels also use the mountain and rural zones of the state for the production of illegal drugs. Guadalajara is still fundamental for the operations of the Sinaloa Cartel so the confrontations with the CJNG will continue, either by them (Sinaloa Cartel) or by their allies such as CDG and Knights Templar.
This new conflict between La Corona and the CJNG, brings the question to mind ; what will be the role of the zetas in this rupture.
The state of Jalisco began to experience an increase in the levels of violence in 2011 when the zetas began to make an incursion in CJNG territory. Although up to date the zetas have maintain with a minor criminal organization known as La Resistencia, which was formed from the old Milenio Cartel,  the zetas could pact an alliance with the CJNG, join efforts to maintain  many other cartels that seek support in Jalisco.

An alliance with CJNG would be an important hit for the Sinaloa Cartel, CDG and the Knight Templar, the main rivals of the zetas in their strong plazas northeast of Mexico.
However, nothing suggests an alliance between the CJNG and the zetas will be imminent although it is a possibility.
Even if the Zetas continue independently or if they pact an alliance with one of the other groups in the state, violence will not decrease in the state due to the conflict that now exists between CJNG and the Knight Templar, CDG, the Coroneles and the Sinaloa Cartel.
In case the Zetas continue to be independent and decide to continue with the fighting in Jalisco, violence will probably intensify. This is according to an analysis of the Intelligence Agency Stratfor titled “Mexico Security Memo: A new conflict in Jalisco State".
(Though this is a new video report it begins with footage from last year of the group)

  1. Thank you for article...El Moca predicted this, in his interview, says Mencho went power mad, extorted and kidnapping, and that's when the banners went up signed by Sinaloa, which was probably Los Coronels, saying they don't respect extortion.

I think I have everything straight in the region now....for the moment. I wonder what kind of deal they had for awhile, because they were frontlining Sinaloa flag with force for awhile...

  2. So the rumors of CJNG resluting to exorting folks and doing other shady things other then move weight may hold some truth to it and being unproductive to Chapo and his group. Rumors were that they weren't together and a few guys here have posted remarks in that regard.

CJNG and the Z's coming together would be such a weird move but as the report says it there have been weirder shifts in the narco game.

    Never ending alliances.
No one truely owns Jalisco and that could be said for alot of territories in Mex.

    1. Its all about the Benjamins. Everyone else is a foot soldier only people on top getting paid .nacho was getting big himself and felt he didnt have to follow orders since he was a made man so they took him out when you become a threat to the people that made you such as golfos creating the zetas you gotta go the problem with the golfos was they let the z get to big they should have had a leash on em now that they created a monster they cant be controlled . Who knows what cjng next move is everybodys got to watch their backs now its anybody game.

    you mean alliance? not truce.
But when CJNG were with CDS they WORKED for them, like independent contractors to be enforcers. Whoever CDS told them to kill on their behalf they went after. See?
Now they are not working for them and are open to work for others, most likely those enemies of CDS as no love was loss.

No alliance last forever. and remember who letra was with? YUP CDG...

Its a sick game full of deceit, paranoia, deception, greed...etc etc. Ill be honest drug trafficing doesnt bother me as much as the kidnapping, extortion, and killing of innocents. Absolute power corrupts absolutely!

I guess its like the price is right game show whoever has the winning bid wins the pot.its a shame some people can be bought so easily.they should just have a damn auction and highest bidder wins the territory on a timed lease and then have another one when the lease is up and maybe nobody would die thats innocent caught in the crossfire. Just an idea

  17. CJNG allied with Los Zetas?????.....why not, could happen, but what of the Mata Zetas? are they a separate organisation within CJNG?

  18. @ 7:51PM

Ok have you heard the new rule? Each time some one says I am a hugger of any cartel they have to send me 100USD for my foundation.... :)

Seriously at least you were sorta polite. Here is the truth. Each day I get a couple comments from people that read my truth, opinion or a post authored by others and call me a hugger, or worse of various body parts of Chapo, 40 and before Lazca....even Mochomo and Chapito. Zetas cdg and cds. prob soon CJNG.

You mistake representing news and turn of events for supporting a cartel. That is offensive for I have NEVER said, like many of you, that it is better to have one cartel because they are nicer in some way to the innocents. That is bullshit. They all kidnap, extort, torture and execute. They all have contributed to entrapping Mexico's society by fear, by terror. The have all contributed to the destruction, but more importantly halting the advancement of the society. But some have a PR that woos the hearts and minds of people, and other don't play that game and consider it a wasted effort.

That said, blame? Blame goes to the rule of corruption. Blame goes back to the 1930s when Mexico produced its first "narco President". Blame goes to a government that did not care about the children and young people of the US as they made a deal with the devil to look the other way as they freely trafficked drugs to a nation not their own. Blame goes to the corruption that has permeated every municipality along the frontera, who BTW even the government says is 100% controlled by narcos.

Blame goes to the corruption in the judicial system and absence of anything resembling a system of law and order. and blame goes to the good people of Mexico who sit and wait for "the other guy" to demand change, be change, and continue conducting ethically wrong actions such as selling their vote to the highest bidder, no matter who or what that person is or represents. because "what can I do? I am but one person?"

Blame is a prejudice society that think children with dark skin or living in impoverished standards do not deserve an education or an opportunity, and now that decision gave a giant ass kick to the society that denied them equality. They became narcos, halcones, foot soldiers and more. They became a big part of the nightmare. Org crime is opportunity based, they were given a wide berth to run 1/3 of the country as they please.

If you read the other post I have up about Valor Tamaulipas you will see that it is my conclusion that it is letra that is after the poor guy and his family. I fear his wife or child or him will have an end like Nena.
If you insist on calling me a hugger..
    Call me a child hugger...please

    .....Paz, Chivis

I can always count on you to state the truth and in no way do you ever stoop to the level of glorifying the anomals who are involved in the war. You speak for all the innocents and I am deeply grateful. I love the part where you say call me a child hugger. Bravo. Mexico and the US need more child huggers. I am fortunate in my work to hug many innocents daily and it makes my heart melt. Once again, thanks Chivis. Texas Grandma. Peace to all.

To turn a blind eye for a fast buck where it will harm other's is plain selfish.
And then we have the other problem where the Cartels are doing whatever they want, yes as you say
they are all killing Mexico and its peoples, there is no good cartel....they are all bad as you pointed out...some folks here cannot get to grips with that quite yet, why?.
Keep up the great work Chivis..You Child Hugger!

  40. All of these people are criminals and should be eradicated from this planet! El Chapo is a disgusting man, all of these drug lords are disgusting!

    ReplyDelete
  41. The whole reason cjng and el chapo split was because of Chapos fear of the jalisco cartel becoming more powerful than him. Its someting that hes done with all his allies. For el chapo to not turn on his allies he has to be completely sure they are extremely loyal to him.

Heres a true story, el chapo allowed the kt to come into Guadalajara via la corona. They set up mencho and failed. What was the outcome? The forced exodus of the sinaloa people from jalisco. The problem is that chapo didnt do it earlier. Now the people that back mencho are pissed. Hence why the increase of violence in sinalo and tijuana.

    ReplyDelete
  42. At the end someone is going to get fucked over. Just How El CHAPO did with Los Beltran. He saw los beltrans were the top dogs so he betrayed them to be the big dog. And just how El Chapo killed Nacho Coronel (R.I.P) he saw he was getting big, he was controlling Jalisco not even El mayo zambada controls a state, he controls half of culiacan. Pero each Cartel is fighting for the same thing Money & Territory.

    ReplyDelete
  43. All these cartels have three things in mind...money,power,and respect.

These wars and territory fights will never end. Just new leaders will take the wheel. They might change the name and the rules but they will still be there. Chapo doesnt really care anymore he's just cruising through life now and is waiting for his time to come and pass it on to his sons. Same with Mayo. And as far as the alliances is just to get through territories with a little more protection.
