The United States has spent more than $1 billion supporting a war on drug cartels in Mexico.
But as US president Barack Obama heads to Mexico, the situation is still so desperate in some areas that local media are afraid to talk about it.Al Jazeera's Adam Raney reports from Reynosa in Mexico, near the US border.
Obama should put all that money back into the U.S. economy because You're never going to win the war against the drug cartels.
ReplyDeleteIts not the drugs that are causing all the problems in mexico/michuacan ,the real proble is lack of origens meaning the modern cualture that erasing what zapata fought for lan and rights of campesinos ,all this is being for gotten whit our people leaving to usa for a better living and what was strongly fought from there ancestor is being for gotte ,we as mexicanos need to look where we. came from to know where we are going .The last words of wise men where perdono al que roba al que mata, porque quiza`lo hacen por nesesidad, pero al traidor jamas.
DeleteWe need to go back to the begening campesinos
ATTE:-X- 559

ReplyDeleteI YOU have money in the bank, SAVINGS, take a look at what happened in Cyprus and CONSIDER removing YOUR hard earned Cash from banks BEFORE almost half of YOUR SAVINGS are STOLEN FROM YOU under the guise of "We have to Save Our Country From Total Collapse!!"
And you think or believe that 'your savings' are 'in.sured' when a BIG ECONOMICAL CRISIS IS DECLARED ? !!! IF ONLY!!

If Obama interrupted the flow of drugs he'd lose: (a) major contributors and (b) most of his voter base
ReplyDeleteWe're talking Chicago thug here, for heavens sake.. Have you ever heard of organised crime or drug addicts voting conservative, come on.
You don't even know what the fuck you are saying do you? Lol
DeleteThis report sadly underscores what is common knowledge for Mexican people. A reality that the governments of both USA and Mexico try to quash bc of investment, tourism dollars, and the specture of anarchy or rebellion if the populace loses all hope. Cartels don't like body counts of their own dead so they can claim victory over rivals even if they are getting their ass kicked. Perception vs reality. Morbid platonic duality.
ReplyDeleteThat's ok the USA can give Mexico some more billions all they do is just ask the fed to print some more and the stupid cartels are killings each other for it. Para pendejo no se estubia
ReplyDeleteEstuDia .. pendejo
Deletei went to visit last month ....and organized crime tried to extorsion me and my family.. almost in front of the soldiers that are stationed there at the bridge..man thers no law in that city... Very unsafe place to go. Mexico is screwd!!!!

We help train the military, training isn't free.
DeleteThe state will never win against the organization of CDG. Every time you cut our head 5 more will grow. The more you fight the stronger we will get. Traitors from the family, the state will always be the same as us. We will only learn more, and soon the name which you think when you hear drug group will be etched on a stone. The state has been proficient with their strategy, but we are no longer ignorant.
ReplyDeleteCDG El Cartel Mas GRANDE

Maybe not.but god will have the last laugh with his wrath on all the evildoings

ReplyDeleteThe war on drugs supports many industries in the US. Police, prison bureaucracy would be take a hard hit if legalized.
ReplyDeleteThey call it a war so deploy some heavy military units then and finish this. They can hunt down and kill Bin Laden in Pakistan, they can send troops to Syria, they can drone the hell out of pretty much everything they see as a threat abroad, but they can`t get rid of some drug gangsters right next door in Mexico? Sure they are hard, some are psychotic too, but they are still just humans and I`m supposed to belive that the mighty US of A with all its military power just can`t do anything about this. They could probably whipe out 50% of those bastards in a week if they put some force behind the effort.
ReplyDeleteObama should sponsor Mexican media on a no cure, no pay-basis on cartel war reporting
ReplyDeleteNWO COMING TO A CITY NEAR YOU
ReplyDeleteBorderland Beat exagerrate. Milenio and other mexican outlets deliver plenty of info about the drug war. Even BB use some of the info from the media.
ReplyDeleteBB acting like a drama queen, but this is OK with me :-)
@Anonymous May 2, 2013 at 7:32 PM: you lose hope too much. as long as obama was focused on decreasing national guard units, there will be a less chance for those cartels to slip pass.

F*&% all thay sheee. Build.a bigger fence, add a moat with gators, set up snipers, put land mines in the desert, deport all the ones here already, uplift their anchor babies too and tell them they can come back when they're adults. Times are gettimg tough! Tough times call for tough measures.

DeleteI love Mexico!!! The citizens of Mexico look out for each while the American citizens depend on the government to protect and.help them survive. lol
ReplyDeleteMexican citizens do what needs to be done either farming, washing cars or cleaning houses.
Americans want the easy way out welfare or workers comp..
Almost accurate, agree like 85%, 90%.
DeleteViva La Mexico!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan we safely presume those 1 billion are to support the drug war not to help the government fight them; fast and furious and all those other operations...
ReplyDeleteATTE:XUNMEJORMEXICO
You wrote: "The citizens of Mexico look out for each"... and... "Mexican citizens do what needs to be done." Well if this is the case then the Mexican citizens have failed miserably. Mexico is a disaster. We Americans don't expect our Government to take care of us, we expect our Government to provide security from criminals and insure that justice is served in order to maintain a safe orderly society. No, our Government is not perfect, but at least it can perform this basic function fairly well.
ReplyDeleteAmerican citizens do not have to look out for each other as much. They are better off financially. But when money or donations are needed try it here in Mexico where I live now. It does not work so well. But get donations for a cause in the USA and the money comes pouring in. The Mexican people have no choice as the government really leaves them on there own. But they complain about that and always say look at the USA and how the government takes care of them there. So it is not they would not like it. In fact many go to the USA for those reasons. I live in Mexico and have for a long time. I know what I am talking about because I have lived in both places. You are right. The Mexicans are good people! Just like anywhere, the good ones that is. The poorer ones more so then the rich ones from what I can see. The poorer ones will give you the shirt off their back. You said it they do what needs to be done. Farming, washing cars, cleaning houses, selling drugs, extorsion, kidnappings and more. They even take over whole towns from the good Mexican people. You just described many countries. I thought workmans compensation was something I paid into with my own money. I am sure people will never get what they have paid into it. It is just an insurance policy and it is not something that pays forever. It has it's limits. You paint with a very broad brush and even all Mexicans do not think like you.
ReplyDeleteYeah people go to Mexico for a better pay not for government protection.
DeleteAmericans are not financially better if u factor the cost of living..like I said even with the money u make in the USA people still need welfare to survive. jobless workers at are in all time high and welfare recipients is at an all time high. like I said Americans depend on government for the easy way out.
You speak alot of sense. It's kind of hard for donations to come pouring in when you(generally speaking) and your countrymen(most of them) are having a hard time supporting themselves and theirs. There's good people and bad people on both sides of the border. Desperate times and situations have been known through out history to bring out the most unpleasent behavior and conduct from the most pleasent of men. And this is not the exception.

ReplyDeleteIf youre in Texas, no way that anyone, regardless of race, got a $900.00 fine and 45 days for a THIRD DUI - our district attorney in Austin, is cooling HER heals in the Travis County lock-up on her first DUI, right now (by the way, she's white). No license and no insurance - you should be fined, regardless of your race. In San Antonio - which is 90% hispanic and ran by hispanics, including SAPD - you would have been arrested and jailed, and your vehicle impounded for no license or even no insurance, so spare us the race excuse. As for your tats and the Aryians tats, they are nothing but BUST ME FOR SOMETHING signs, after all, you were both in the same line and court.
Anon 9;20 pm "Salva" Said "Obama should put all that money back into the U.S. economy."
ReplyDeleteNo cash money was given to the Mexicans, the 1.5 billion was equipment and training. The equipment was in perfect working conditions but it was not new. To training of the Mexican personal was done in the same facilities used by the U.S. personal.
I don't know why people continue to think that U.S give Mexico cash or something like that.
Don't worry the antichrist and one world government will control everyone and put an end to organized crime.
ReplyDeleteThat's the whole idea with the RFID chip. All cash will be eliminated. All transactions will be done electronically. All illegal transactions will not be done.
DeleteZ is 6th letter of Cyrillic/Greek alphabet
Z is 26th letter of Latín alphabet
6 & 2 6s equals
Get your facts right about the RFID chip. You are talking like any woman complaining in front of the the domestic violence department supervisor.
DeleteMexico needs to scrap it's constitution and base the new one on English Common Law and jettison the old Spanish era Napolanic Law. Napolianic Law fosters corruption and stunts judicial systems. If Mexico had real press freedoms and a strong judicary, then it would have effective law enforcement.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, because the US isnt one of the most corrupt nations in the world.
Delete@12:07 you sheep. It's that attitude that lets bad prevail. "God" has never stopped evil in it's path. You yourself have to do something.
ReplyDeleteI go to El Paso to shop. Everything is much cheaper there. I am not just talking a little bit. The prices here in the Wal_Mart and the Home Depot could cause your head to turn around twice. Imagine a 5 quart bottle of mobile 1 synthetic oil at $69 in the Wal-Mart here in Chihuahua, and the same bottle at $26.50 in El Paso. Gas is real close ion price now. House prices are even up to par with El Paso. Utilities are high here. Cell phone prices are a joke. Milk is about $4 per gallon. I was shocked to see the new Costco here kept prices real. I hope that keeps true. People by used cars in El Paso and sell them here because car prices are rediculous. The only thing that is cheaper is rent, labor and construction. That is why you see 3 generations and full grown adults living in the same house. It is not because that want to do this. It is that have not much choice unless they do not care. My wife's mother is very poor. People are starving here. I really still have a tough time understanding how they make it. Most have no car insurance, and many do not have a car. The buses are so full of people and there are so many because people cannot afford a cheap one. Go to the little pueblos like I do everyday. There teeth gone, and many are in dire need of dental care. It is a hard thing to look at. You have no idea! They would not need welfare if they lived in a 30'by 15'home. My wife was living with her moter and two kids in what look like a chicken coop when I met her. There were 5 beds set up in the middle of what was supposed to be the living room. I have spent many months helping the poor here with no income. I know Mexico and it's people pretty well. I make good money but I have an education and there is plenty to be made. But an education is hard to get even if you want one here. People with money get special favors in the schools even if their kids are not the brightest.
ReplyDeleteYou're a good man. If there were more people like you, things would be better off. My respect and best wishes to you and yours....and thank you.

Thats a sad thing bro,to think how much better it could be without rampant corruption.Mexico could be so much more, you know that more than most? Some are almost starving?Unbelievable,is it any wonder you have so many kids going the wrong way.It puts me in mind of the 14 year kid sicario"i wanted to buy a washing machine for my mum"then he was found murdered. At least you see it and feel it,and actually try and help some, unlike some.Doesn't Mexico have 13 of the richest men on the planet?Madness, complete madness.I,m not a bleeding heart, but i do believe in spreading wealth as flatly as you can.
Reporters get their sons killed in Mexico

RITZAU
Two prominent Mexican journalists from the nordmexicanske city of Chihuahua have lost their sons.
The two young men were gunned down in the street, said a spokesman from the state prosecutor.
At the same time tells the police that they have found seven bodies in a suburb of Mexico City, the news agency Reuters.
Were chased through the streets
Alfredo Paramo, 20, and Diego Paramo, 21, was shot and killed in Chihuahua after being chased through the streets by armed men in a car, said Carlos Gonzalez from the prosecution.
One of those killed is the son of the famous Mexican financial journalist David Paramo, who is also a TV host and columnist, while the other had killed the editor of the newspaper El Paso, Martha Gonzalez, as a father.
"We still do not know what they were doing. But the killings have probably nothing to do with their parents' professional activities, "said Carlos Gonzalez.
Often targets for drug cartels
Mexican journalists are often the target of drug cartels, which punishes journalists to describe their activities.
25 journalists are believed to have been killed in the Central American country since 1992.
Another recent crime in Mexico took place on Sunday morning in a suburb of Mexico City, where police found seven bodies in a car. There were seven men, who had all been shot.
Police have identified three of the men, whose ages vary from 14 to 42 years.
