Mexican Army rescues 165 migrants in Tamaulipas

A total of 165 migrants from central and south America were rescued Monday by a Mexican Army unit in the northern Mexican state of Tamaulipas, according to Mexican news and official sources.
A news account in Milenio news daily of a press conference conducted by the Mexican Secreteria de Gobierno (SEGOB) or interior ministry said a Mexican Army road patrol was dispatched to Diaz Ordaz municipality Monday on an anonymous tip about the presence of armed suspects in the area.
On arriving in the area, a lone armed suspect was observed, who then tried to escape only to be detained at the scene.
The migrants, among them 77 Salvadorans, 50 Guatemalans 23 Hondurans, 14 Mexicans and one Indian, had been kidnapped and were being held captive in a safe house in Las Fuentes colony.Included in that number were 20 children and two pregnant women.
The kidnappers had forced their captives to call home and demand ransom while they were at the safe house. According to the report, migrants were afraid they would eventually be turned over to local drug cartels gangs that likely operate in the area.
The fear is well founded. Three years ago 72 migrants from central and south American were massacred by a local Los Zetas group in San Fernando when some of the migrants refused to give ransom. That murder was a precursor to an even more gruesome mass murder which took place over six months ending in June, 2011 which took the lives of 193 in San Fernando municipality. The San Fernando mass murder is one of the worst is Mexican history.
One suspect was detained at the scene, identified as Juan Cortez Arrez.
The Mexican government plans to move the migrants to a holding facility in central Mexico.

ReplyDeleteok, now this is actual news. some of your countrymen are some really nasty people, private citizens keeping hoards of people couped up like that, totally undercuts human rights.. when you have shit like this pop up it diminishes any criticisms you may have of other counties.

ReplyDeleteHahaha..I guess not everyone understands your humor!
DeleteWow mass shooting mass killing and now mass kidnapping its like the the government of Mexico don't even care anymore we all know the story the Mexican police stumble upon it from a tip, a tip my ass, they were driving through the neighbor hood and found the house just by "dumb luck" that's how Mexicans work in Mexico justice 101 "dumb luck"
ReplyDeleteKnowing Mexico this Juan Cortez Arrez probably won't even go to jail.
ReplyDeleteIf this story was North of the Rio Bravo it would be on every media outlet 24 hours a day all week for three months. Then a Hollywood movie would follow. Plus , book deals, interviews. But , it happened in Mexico.
ReplyDeleteAsk yourself this. How many of the pregnant women were impregnated by the captors ?
How many of the women were raped ? How many men were raped ?
Lets never forget the San Fernando Massacre !!!!
BB , Thanks for getting the news out !!!!
ReplyDeleteCould BB repost/refresh the Missing Marine Story again ? Thanks !!!
Thank god this didn't turn out like the San Fernando massacre...Z40 dissolving kids alive in acid for no reason...
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to hear any follow up on this if they question the guy they detained. Hopefully he says more than "I needed money to feed my family".
Does anyone know what they might do with the migrants after they take them to the holding facility? Hopefully they don't just turn them over to a cartel after all...I've met police officers in Tamaulipas before, and I can imagine their saying something like "We had to give these migrants back to Los Zetas, because we found no physical evidence that they were not the cartel's property."
ReplyDeleteThe people that dont pay up get their organs sold by people that are in that busness or they are often force to become sicarios without any training force into their battles or drug mulers
DeleteWow someone has to up the ante after the 49 bodies last year 172 is quite a jump but what the heck they only migrants when will they stop 250? 500? 1000?
ReplyDeleteI got two guns one for you and the other one for the fucking cartels big boy
ReplyDeleteThis is a sad story that the cartels are doing this am about to cry
ReplyDeleteIm just glad they didnt make it across the border into the US.
ReplyDeleteTrue!!!!..we wouldn't want them selling fruit or flowers off the freeways to make ends meat, while you're begging for money with a sign.
DeleteThats true. I always see Anglos, whites asking for handouts by Seven Eleven. From what i seen hispanics always working doin sumthin for a lil cash.
DeleteThis is very true I shit u not I just passes by walmart and I saw to white ladys with a cardbord box that said homeless please help. Atleast hispanics work
DeleteYeah these 165 didn't make it but 1000's of others do every other day u freaking BOZO!!! Haha!
DeleteI'm just sad they didn't make it across the border to the US. Because unlike some people I have both a heart and a soul.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they can interview some of the captives on live TV, rather than just taking the word of the corrupt military guys on what happened.

ReplyDeleteI agree. I keep hearing this "I needed money to feed my family" excuse. It's infuriating when guys justify things like MURDER that way. If you've committed a crime, at least have the decency to take responsibility for it, rather than trying to get people's sympathy because you're a 'family man'.
I honestly think the crime scene would be different if more Mexican people were responsible about having kids, instead of having as many as possible as young as possible. Those kids make up the majority of drug traffickers.
@ 10:02 please you probably shit yourself if u ever use them guns
ReplyDelete11:56 am,you're quite the humanitarian.I bet you're handing out sandwiches along the border when you're not posting dumb comments online .

The problem here in Michoacan where I live, and I think everywhere in Mexico, is that couples have kids when they're so young that they don't yet have maturity. They don't think how hard will it be to raise many children, and their parents tell them they have no honour unless they have many children and marry rich husband.
Then they reach age 20 and see cannot support their children, but they think it is someone else's fault. Then the husband goes into crime because he is desperate. The children are neglected because with so many children and so little money. They get into crime when they are then very young too.
I am mother in Michoacan, I got married at 30 and had two children at 33. My family is very stable and happy, and I owe it to waiting until I was ready. I recommend it! :)

ReplyDeleteYes, actually, I do send bread and food to Mexico almost daily. I also give to the orphans in Mexico and have been doing this for decades. I don't just type comments here. I take this drug war seriously because I've lost innocent people due to it. Even though I am angry, I still pray for even the criminals that God my put love back in their hearts and for the people that they continue to let Mexico know that this is unacceptable.
ReplyDelete"The Zetas were Armed wing of CDG they only fought and CDG made the negotiation so when they broke they had to start making money somehow
