The Carrillo
Fuentes drug-trafficking organization, with its enforcement arm La Línea, is
moving to regain the El Paso-Juárez corridor from the Sinaloa cartel, whose
power in Juarez is eroding quickly, according to a terrorism and security analyst
from the Texas-based private intelligence firm Stratfor
We began
seeing the weakening of the Sinaloa cartel and the strengthening of the VCF
(Vicente Carrillo Fuentes) cartel and La Línea in Juárez because of the help of
Los Zetas cartel since the end of last year," Stratfor's vice president of
Tactical Intelligence, Scott Stewart, said.
Stewart was
one of the speakers at the second day of the U.S.-México Border Security
Summit. Wednesday's conference was at the Doubletree Hotel in Downtown El Paso.
The Juárez
Chapter of ASIS International, an organization that provides private security
services to businesses all over the world, organized the two-day summit to
promote the El Paso-Juárez region to chief security officers and
representatives of U.S. manufacturing companies.
During his
presentation of "The Border Potential Treats: Intelligence," Stewart
gave an update on the trends and dynamics of the major drug cartels in México,
including the Sinaloa cartel, the Zetas, Jalisco Nueva Generación, the Gulf
cartel, the Knights Templar and the Beltrán Leyva organization.
The Sinaloa
cartel, which battles for turf with the Carrillo-Fuentes drug-trafficking
organization, leaving more than 10,000 dead in Juárez since 2007, still
controls almost all Chihuahua state.
However, Los
Zetas, which are the second largest drug-trafficking organization in México and
the Sinaloa cartel's biggest rival, has begun to help the Carrillo Fuentes
cartel in moving illegal drugs around the El Paso-Juárez border in an attempt
to regain control of this plaza, Stewart said.
He said that
it is unknown how long the Sinaloa cartel is going to resist, but so far this
year there has not been a considerable increase of violence in Juárez like in
the past years.
"We
think it is because the Sinaloa cartel's control over Juárez is eroding
quickly," he said.
Stewart
explained the Sinaloa cartel was hit hard with the killing in December of
Gonzalo "El Macho Prieto" Inzuza, who was believed to be one of the
chief cartel leaders. It was also impacted by the arrests in January of
enforcer José Rodrigo Aréchiga Gamboa "El Chino Antrax" and
ultimately the capture in February of the cartel's leader Joaquín "El
Chapo" Guzmán.
"Once
those guys are out of the picture it makes it more difficult for the Sinaloa
cartel to project military power, so we think that is what is helping to keep
down the violence," he said.
He predicts
that the murder rate in México will continue decreasing and the overall
violence will not increase significantly in the next months. However, there
could be spikes of increased levels of violence in the states of Chihuahua,
Sinaloa, Sonora and Baja California as the Sinaloa cartel tries to maintain
control.

How about Tamaulipas? You havnt talk about whats really going down there... 128 people dead just over the weekend. Come on chivis, get it together and informe this people. The have the right to know what's really happening back in mexico, specially the ones that have family down there
ReplyDeleteFunny how i replied here but my comment wasnt approved ;)
DeleteChapo looks tired in this picture. Look at his eyes...its as if he is projecting relief. Relieved that all the hiding, lying, murdering, power struggles, mayhem, paranoia, distrust, greed, etc.. is finally giving his Soul a rest. May The Creator of The Universe touch his Spirit and bring him to repentence. "Peace, be still and know that I AM The LORD."
ReplyDeleteArmageddon is coming when the true God cleans the earth.its very close
DeleteI don't care bout any cartel but if a cartel was losing a plaza then wouldn't that mean the violence would greatly increase?? I doubt the Sinaloa cartel would just hand them the plaza without a fight so why would the decrease n violence mean they are losing their territory? I thought the zetas where dwindling in power so what I'm starting to understand is that nobody knows what the fuck their talking bout
ReplyDeleteI live here in Juarez. The killings are picking up. The word has spread around to be home before 6 pm because there are new people showing up in parts of the city. I only pray that my family stays safe. I work in El Paso but my wife and 3 kids live in Juarez. We are in the process of moving them over to the US. But it cost us alot of money to make the move. Here in my neighborhood there have been 3 murders in two weeks. We here gun shots everynight. I'm always scared when I go to work in el Paso while I'm driving to the bridge.
Deletestratfor has been proven time and time again to be completely and utterly fucking clueless about cartel activities in mexico.
ReplyDeletethey get their talking points from washington.
thats true.every time they say something its bullshit

DeleteTHE PROBLEM IS DRUG ADDICTION.. MAYBE IF THE U.S.A RAN MORE CHANNELS ON T.V.. PEOPLE WOULDNT BE SO IN TO DRUGS.. HAHAHA
ReplyDeleteThis is nothing new. Bloggers have been saying this for months. Sinaloa huggers don't want to admit the lost power of the Federation. They can't fight BLO, Zetas, AF and CF and not lose territory. It will just get worst for the Federation. Down goes the champ. And the new champion is.......only time will tell.
ReplyDelete^^^he said bloggers have been saying it lol its like saying well i saw it on tv do its true lol
Deletewill its not the templers
Deletetold ya from the beginning......juarez cartel was not gonna be stopped....mu opinion, even tougher than la linea have been barrio aztecas-aztecas...you all can say what ya want, but thanks to the aztecas, juarez cartel did not lose chihuahua during the time the goverment backed up chapo...but the mexican political group PAN,ARE OVER and done with...back is the pri....BACK IS THE JUAREZ CARTEL IN CONROL...BUT THANKS TO THEM AZTECAS....STATING FACTS...THATS IT...NOT ONE SIDED OPNIONS....
ReplyDeleteThe aztecas are probably the biggest thieves of drugs from the vcf cartel. All the pieces of shit in one team lets c how this eorks put longterm wise
DeleteIf I recall correctly, Stratfor has a history of misjudging situations and making premature declarations. Take this with a grain of salt.

And this is where the true danger lays. In their ability to work so cohesively with other criminal organizations.
@236 The American mafia? Hahaha WTF is that?

ReplyDeleteI have lived all over Mexico and now in Chihuahua. Drugs are rampant here and sold in many more locations then I saw in the USA. So what country do you live in that it is drug free? Even the poorest people use cocaine here in Mexico. Marijuana is very common here. The USA just buys more of everything and at higher prices. But Mexico easily rivals the USA in percentage of people that use drugs, from what I see on the streets and living here for many years. If a person wants to use drugs that is his business. I never use them because I have no desire.
You're lying so bad nobody in mexico uses coke they use meth. Trust me everybody already knows white people use more drugs than any other race its a statistical fact.
DeleteYou lying piece of shit! lol
Delete@April 19, 2014 at 3:16 PM
DeleteShow these statistics....u r an idiot. ...go to a mexican club and see how much coke gets used....mexico is no different than the usa when it comes to drug use....there is just more money in the USA

ReplyDeletePlease dont say traffic. ive seen that a thousand times. Im asking in borderland beats comments section because you guys know the deal.
Give me some good choices. Dont give me crappy b movies. I want cartel movies properly done. so i can download them illegally. make sure they have subtitles.
El Infierno
DeleteSAvages
DeleteMovies, no. Novelas Colombianas, yes. Cartel De Los Sapos, Las Muñecas De La Mafia, El Patron Del Mal (Pablo Escobar story), Las Mariposas etc. From Caracol Television. I suggest reading the books first, try Amazon. If you live close to Mexico, go to Sanborn's or Libreria Ghandi.
DeleteBrokeback mountain pendejo.
DeleteEl infierno really good and blow also really good... Enjoy
DeleteEl inferno. Anybody think that movie shows what its really like in Mexico? Or is it too Hollywood?
DeleteOldies but goodies: La banda del carro rojo , Contrabando y Traicion, 30 segundos para morir, Camelia La Texana,
DeleteHahaha brokeback mountain
DeleteGive "Alias El Mexicano" a whirl, anyway. It's a really good book & much better production than "El Patron Del Mal" or "El Cartel De Los Sapos," which is the worst, yet.

BRING ME THE HEAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA
Now la linea is my favorite cartel. They are now my hommies. Wats up now chappo nut huggers ?
ReplyDeleteOh no!! Your on their side. Whatever will we do now. Im scared. Ha!!
DeleteHow can the Juarez cartel be gaining strength when the only way they can move dope around Juarez is with Los Zetas holding their hand?
ReplyDeleteYour an idiot that knows nothing Vicente CARILLO FUENTES has BILLIONS by zetas helping them out it only means the Juarez Cartel payed money so zetas could send sicarios to back up any of their. Interest. Just how BLO did in Sinaloa. Zetas have the sicarios and the capos have the money. This doesn't mean zetas move in to become plaza bosses, the plaza bosses remain CDJ.
Deletebecause CDS and Zetas are the strongest cartels in Mx so you're either allied with one or the other or you get wiped out simple as that
DeleteThats true and los zetas rarely move anything same with the juarez cartel they mainly kidnap and extort
DeleteThe military was holding the midget's hand.

ReplyDelete@11:57 its how it goes down, the government/media isn't going to reveal the truth, either because of corruption or fear. Plus for the last ten years these monsters been running around murdering each other senselessly, at a rate never before seen. By now killing is all they are good at.
ReplyDeleteJuarez has never been in complete control of cds,la linea was always active, and so were los aztecas. The zetas are more intrested in coahilua than chih, remember the saying"the enemy of my enemy is my friend"keep in mind dat cds had the federal governnment on their side, had as allies cdg to fight zetas and they still couldnt win,now that the arrangements with fed gov is done, cds will reap what its sowed!! Not a hugger just stating probable scenarios, only those in da mix know for sure!!

"Another setback for the autodefensas was the arrest of Enrique Hernández Saucedo, the autodefensa leader of the town of Yurécuaro, who is accused of participating in the murder of the mayor of Tanhuato. According to autodefensa leaders, these are also trumped-up charges--they suspect Hernández Saucedo is currently being held incommunicado because he intercepted Templario payrolls containing the names of state senators and town mayors throughout Michoacán.
ReplyDeleteOn April 14, the Attorney General's Office formally accused 17 autodefensas from Yurécuaro of terrorist activities. This sets a serious and alarming precedent since it's the first time that these accusations are brought against autodefensa groups."
Mora and the others, still in jail.
It will be interesting to see how Mayo and Azul (along with others) manage CDS after the arrest of Chapo and the increase in rivals attacking their turf. This year will either see the start of the end of CDS and the rise of lots of smaller groups that will take their place or if the CDS leaders do it right, the cartel can take full control of Juarez and other major plazas and perhaps even take over some of the Zetas turf. Also with the highly possible decline of Knights Templar CDS should take control of their turf and remaining people like they did with the Milenio Cartel and it majorly boosted their strength.
ReplyDeleteHave no fear the Avengers are here

Im from el paso but most of my family is from juarez. the true story goes like this, la linea is in chihuahua city but los aztecas are the ones running cd juarez. Sinaloa are on the ranchos on the outskirts if juarez. The valley of juarez is what is heating up due to los aztecas taking out cds. Zetas are no where in juarez. Zetas are in southern chihuahua assisting la linea on the border of chihuahua and sinaloa. the state of Chihuahua is pretty much divided between juarez cartel and Sinaloa cartel. But you have alot of cds fighting against cds in chihuahua making it easy for the juarez cartel to clean them up. The federation is divided now and some are even making alliances with the juarez cartel
ReplyDeleteIm no expert but it seems everyone has a crazy theory. Is it possible that Mayo, with his historical ties, has partnered with Juarez? Much of the beef stemmed from chapo/bravo taking out rodolfo and invading juarez. With chapo gone and mayo all about making money and keeping peace wouldnt this be possible? All the players who calentaron plaza in juarez are gone. Maybe mayo brokered a partnership for everyone to make more cash

ReplyDeleteIf any of this is factual from these fools,it will be by pure luck.
And thats a bullshit fact, no one in mexico my ass?? Hmm sounds ethnocentric to me, so if I go drive around to every methadone clinic in my town I will see mostly white people? And all the white guys drive into mexico go into the barrios and colonias to get their hard earned drugs?? I tend to believe that every race uses drugs, some places more, some places less. Why not sell drugs on both sides of the border if people will buy them? That sounds more likely to me...
ReplyDeleteI know this may be totally off subject, but, right after ol chappy got yanked, supposedly he was talki g all sorts of shit, the thing I am wondering about is when he copped to like 2 or 3 thousand murders, whaa.. that he himself did or that he sanctioned? I havent seen much about it..
ReplyDeleteThat was fake
DeleteNada cambia el cartel de sinaloa sigue igual nomas deferente generacion
ReplyDeleteEl cartel de sinaloa ya no existe
DeleteI dont rewlly know of any straight up cartel movies in english, I mean yeah some have elements of cartels written into the story, usually the only mention of cartels is just that, its usually someone says "were the" or, "its the cartel" probablyend of watch makes mention of the sinaloa cartel and some interesting footage of psuedo d.e.a secret footage, it looks pretty realistic the way they showed the human trafficking safehouse etc, i would buy those cheesy mexican cartel movies in the 5 dollar bin at wal mart if they had subtitles, I mean "gringo" movies have subtitles for the spanish speaking crowd
ReplyDeleten my opinion if some of the mexican movies based on cartel gossip and stories would add subtitles for english audiences we could enjoy them too, and if its a good flick, its a good flick

DeleteThe juarez cartel never lost there territory in juarez. The only turf they lost to cds is the valle de juarez. But the city belongs to the juarez cartel thanks to the aztecas who never gave up.
