An American citizen is back with her family after she was reported missing in
Reynosa.
Mexican authorities say seven alleged kidnappers
are behind bars in connection with the case, among them is a 14-year-old
girl.
Tamaulipas officials say the 27-year-old woman was
kidnapped and held for eight days.
Mexican authorities rescued the woman near a
shopping mall in Reynosa on June 9. Officers arrested the abductors as they
tried to collect a ransom for the hostage. No shots were fired in the
operation.
Officials said the teenage girl was in charge of
delivering food to the kidnapping victim.
The woman received medical attention following her
rescue. She was then turned over to her family. The victim's information was not
released.

Seven people are behind bars after authorities rescued an American woman who was kidnapped south of the border in Reynosa.
Tamaulipas state officials confirmed on Friday that the seven were arrested following a special operation to rescue the woman on Monday.
Investigators reported that the 27-year-old American woman was kidnapped on June 1st but held captive eight days with her hands and feet tied.
Federal authorities rescued the woman at a shopping center without a single shot being fired.
Investigators reported that two of the suspects allegedly tried to escape in a truck with two other suspects. The four were identified as:
• Erick Alan García Villarreal, 19
• Jorge Arturo García Correa, 20
• Jesús Antonio Hernández Villanueva, 25
• Gerardo Avila Hernández, 30
• Jorge Arturo García Correa, 20
• Jesús Antonio Hernández Villanueva, 25
• Gerardo Avila Hernández, 30
Authorities investigating the kidnapping ring identified and arrested three more people who worked as caretakers at homes where kidnapping victims were being held:
• Jorge Luis Flores Islas, 18
• Juan Osiel Navarro Alemán, 29 años

DeleteThe situation down in Mexico is very sad.In my opinion the only solution that can fix all this,is to simply boycott Mexico in every aspect.I know it sounds cruel(mainly for the honest hard working people that live there and for the family members that live in the States.)I think boycotting tourism will put pressure on the government to really crack down on the crime down there,instead of doing half-ass jobs or completely ignoring the situation.I know it sounds easier that actually doing it.But there are a lot of people that in complete denial about all this.I myself had a trip planned to go there(business not pleasure)but I chose not to go there.Even though some of my family members did go(example of people in denial).Most people say,that its calm down there and only if you're involved,you are in danger.But like I said,you just never know when you'll get caught in the cross fire.I'm not a coward.But basically how I see it is,I'd rather die for a reason than nothing at all.So yes,boycotting Mexico(in my opinion)is a possible solution.

DeleteWell the problem here is not the mexican people but their fucken corrupt goverment. Allow me to elaborate , mexicans flee mexico cause lack of jobs and cause mexico is a 3 world country right? Among other reasons. Well the problem is the mexican goverment, so maybe taxing pemex with 10 barrels of oil peer illegal immigrant here in USA. And giving mexico an ultimatum either keep your people feed and clothed or you will become another puerto Rico. I guarantee the immigration problem will be fix in 2 years.
DeleteWhen younger and feeling more invincible, I would travel throughout main land Mexico by bus or our own vehicle. We would go all along the coast of Michiocan. Ive had friends get robbed at gun point. Dogs shot at feet, trucks stolen. All along to the present stuff like that would.happen and one would hear about it. The point being seems that social media only speeds up the report and is able to funnel different stories together making what I think has been going on for for time immemorial. It does feel like the last bastion of the wild west.

When there is news of US citizens being missing, killed, or kidnapped, they almost always have a Mexican (spanish) last name. It doesn't say in this case. And based just on the report here, I can't see where there was any particular US influence or involvement. Maybe there was. My guess is the US citizen victims in these cases are either mistaken for Mexican, or are otherwise collateral damage. The fact, if ever uncovered for whatever reason, that a victim is US citizen gets attention. But everyday I see postings on facebook and other places about missing Mexicans and I wonder what is the outcome. I am hearing more of organ harvesting, especially from children. Maybe more Americans will become victims if organ trafficing becomes an expanding activity.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how there are many US citizens living in Mexico and not often are they kidnapped. Yet when one is kidnapped the government forces are quick to act. But if it's a Mexican citizen.. well, good luck. They would rather protect their image to the outside than the inside.
