"El 80", 44 years old, was once a municipal police officer in Culiacán. He is reported to have become one of the principal operators for the Sinaloa Cartel, working directly under the command of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, alias "El Chapito", a son of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.
He was further said to be the head of the Culiacán plaza following the death of Francisco Torres, alias "El 50", on August 3, 2013 in a shootout in which "El 80" participated (Update: While it was reported at the time and continues to be reported by multiple sources that the "El 50" killed in the shootout was Francisco Torres, Noroeste reports that it was, in fact, Adrián Guardado Salcido that was killed, which conforms with multiple comments below). Initially, it was rumored that "El 80" was among those killed in that operation; it is now being reported that he managed to escape through a tunnel connecting the house to the storm drain. It is worth noting that at the time of his arrest, "El 80" carried a pistol engraved in the memory of "El 50"
It was reported that unofficial information indicated that "El 80" was the person who dictated the rules by which the drug dealers of Culiacán had to follow, as well as being entrusted to order the killing of unauthorized dealers and alleged car robbers who operated without his consent.
Update:
There have been questions regarding the sources of this information and statements that some information is incorrect. I am the first to admit that my knowledge of the Sinaloa Cartel is limited compared to other individuals and hesitated to write this article in the first place, but felt that it should be posted as no other Borderland Beat reporter had addressed this news.As for my sources, the bulk of the article echoed multiple news sources that first reported his arrest, El Debate being a good example. Days later, multiple sources confirmed his arrest and reported the confiscated items, with La Jornada being an example. The story of his participation in the "El 50" shootout in which he escaped through a storm drain was reported by Noroeste. Finally, the pictures and the information on the pistol was reported by Excelsior.
Francisco Torres el 50 isn't dead. The one that died in that shoot out in 2013 was el SONY aka EL 50 two different guys. One works with LOs Torrres and the other with Los Guazman.
ReplyDeleteFransisco torres el 50 is a loser who stays in the mountains . El Sony el 50 was plaza boss of Culiacan and received orders directly from Chapo Guzman.
DeleteEse heroino deve conocer todo los jefes de sinaloa hasta esos ke nadie conose. Le deverian sacar toda la sopa al wey.

DeleteHow do u know its a .45.They look exactly alike except .38 is a little smaller than the .45...genious.
DeleteYes,1 911s and 38 supers look alike. You can't tell just by looking at it
DeleteEl 50 that was killed was not francisco torres. Chapo was also there and escaped thru the tunnels. That house in el vallado is still full of bullet holes
ReplyDeleteJust curious but.. how did you manage to get this photo? Source?
ReplyDeleteFrancisco el 50 Torres is still active. The one killed was Adrian el 50 Guardado also known as el Soni. He was ex military recruited by el Bravo.
ReplyDeleteThe "El 50" engraved pistol is a .45 ACP, not a .38.
ReplyDeleteyes luck guys wish I could afford the guns
DeleteYou cant tell the difference by the pic. The 2 are identical. On difference is the barrel and u can't see that. I would guess it's a 38 by the short trigger. I've owned both.

ReplyDeleteOff this subject, el debate is saying they killed el palancas in los mochis looks like chapo izidros people took him out
ReplyDeleteThey all carry Colt's aka "La Del once" Meaning 1911 Model
ReplyDeleteWhile some do carry .45 ACP most carry the .38super witch happens to be banned in mexico. Its an illegal round, not like these guys care for laws anyway.
Only narco ive seen carry a Glock is la Tuta, in one picture he is carrying a glock not sure if a model 17 or 22 but I was amazed.
Anyways, If I had to rely on a gun for my life like these guys, id carry a glock! Ive owned several model 80 70 Colts and they all had FTF issues, and they usually hate firing hollow points.. I still love them but Id be a little afraid to carry it as my only gun. Now my experiance on glocks, there not good looking but they just fire every single time! From the cheapest reloaded ammo to highend self defense ammo.. Feed them whatever and they will just eat it!
Kill them all n let God sort them out!!
ReplyDeleteBoth the real 50 and 80 are free these are the other fake 50 and 80 wanna be. Los senores estan libres.
