Translated for Borderland Beat from a Notinfomex article by Otis B Fly-Wheel
He was identified as Venancio Soberanis Pantoja, a youngster who was thrown to crocodiles in Larazo Cardenas, after being tortured and executed.
The body was on the point of being completely devoured by the crocodiles in the Santa Anna bar. However tourists and locals reported the situation to authorities, then elements of civil protection among others, attended the site and managed to snatch the body from the jaws of the reptiles.
The situation occurred around Midday just at the height of the bridge of Santa Ana, in the Boulevard of the Municipality of Lazaro Cardenas. The police suspect the killer or killers threw the body off the viaduct, and subsequently the reptiles ate his left leg.( Otis : id say that is his right leg )
Local officials, Military and bystanders fashioned a noose to recover the victim from the grasp of the reptiles, who hours later was identified as Venancio Soberanis Pantoja, 20 years of age, it was noted that his hands were tied behind his back with yellow cord, and his head had severe injuries.
Removal of the body |
Police sources claim that he was tortured before being thrown into the crocodile reserve. An agent of the PGR, was informed of the incident and has started criminal investigative proceedings. Later the remains of the unfortunate young man were transferred to the Morgue where an autopsy could be carried out to reveal the cause of death.

DeleteDamn, they got that from Goodfellas but instead of throwing the guy to a lion in the zoo, they threw him in with a crocodile. NICE!!! Can any one imagine if the guy was tied n still alive :) well thats what he gets if he played with the wrong crowd.
ReplyDeleteSo... it was nothing like Goodfellas

Deleteif we put crocodiles in the river the barbaric animals will make them into cowboy boots and belts to wear once they climb the border wall!
ReplyDeleteI dont think that the crocs want cowboy boots or belts made out of narcos. The leather is too soft.

DeleteLmao.
This quote from the article beggars belief " it was noted that his hands were tied behind his back with yellow cord , and his head had severe injuries". He was tortured , excuted , thrown off a viaduct then half eaten by crocodiles , did they expect they would find just a band aid on his ass ? Id say their injury list might be missing a few items , like all of the flesh removed off his right leg for one.
ReplyDeleteI think there was an error in the article...the right leg was in all probability gnawed on by the crocs. But who knows..
DeleteAny idea who he was and why it happened?
ReplyDeleteWas this young man connected to gangs, drugs or cartels?
ReplyDeleteTime will tell , the showy nature of it , the failure to dispose of the body , this isn't hardcore cartel behaviour. This smacks of someone trying to make a name , a low level player wanting to get some kudos. The deceased could be anybody, I checked three different articles none mentioned him in respect to having antecedents, so that information isn't out there right now.
ReplyDeleteBut he pissed off somebody.
if mexicans could be as creative with improving their country as they are with killing people...
ReplyDeleteDo not go too far... We have worse in the US. The fact that is hidden information, does not make the US a better country.
DeleteHow about a story about Pemex stations shorting gas all over Sonora and Chihuahua Why do the people stand it?.
ReplyDeletePemex stations do that everywhere in Mexico. It's a monopoly and behaves accordingly.
DeleteNow would be a great time to ask all those stupid tourist "Are they enjoying their vacations?" and "Why the heck did they go there in the first place?" Soon things like this will be a regular tourist attraction. The government will do nothing. Ask the Mayor how he got there, chances are they will know.
ReplyDeleteYeah,go ask them,take a clipboard with you?
DeleteYou never here of follow up stories on these vicitims, to see if they were actually criminals
ReplyDeleteThe mexican government feels its not important for you to know like how we never know what happens to all those people who are jailed
Deletecheck out the valley central link the reader sent in above, gator warnings posted along bravo (rio grande)
ReplyDeletepauly boy run the drug trade in mexico
