“El R2” aka "El Toñin" brother of El Chive takes
control over the region
Elements of Tamaulipas
arrested another of their “targets”, this time it is Silvestre Haro Rodriguez,
alias El Chive, chief of the Gulf Cartel plaza in metropolitan area of Tampico,
Madero and Altamira.
The arrest, along with
his brother Carlos Alberto Alvarez Diaz, known as R5.
The arrest was conducted
yesterday, Friday August 14 at the port
of Tampico, inside a hospital, Hospital Centro Español
de Tampico, located on
Avenida Hidalgo.
El Chive
attempted to bribe the arresting police.
Apparently the arrest
occurred after El Chive accompanied his brother to the hospital, after Carlos suffered
the loss of a hand from the detonation of an explosive device.

Seven rifles with
chargers, five pistols, including one gold-plated, (in photo at left) five grenades, one thousand 873
cartridges and 59 magazines, three radios, three bags, and cell phones.
Also secured were; a
white Buick, a Mercedes Benz SUV with plates of Jalisco, a white truck with Colima
plates and a white GMC pickup.

control over the region , replacing his brother. The transition of power is expected to go
relatively smoothly. Family members as
succession appointments, is a method, planned for and used by cartels, to counter government targeting of capos.
However
there will be an uptick of violence in the short run, in fact a new wave of violence is expected in Tampico
Madero and Altamira, by the Scorpion
group, (el grupo Escorpión) who is rejecting the replacement of Chive with his
brother.
Scorpions
are a power enforcer group, made up of former state and metro police.
The Chive
cell has emassed millions of pesos in
Pemex oil theft.
