Sisters of Zetas Leader Z-37 Killed

According to official sources of the Government of Veracruz, two of the seven bodies found inside an incinerated vehicle in the municipality of Venustiano Carranza, Puebla, are Bertha González Pérez and Amada Gonzalez Perez, sisters of Zetas leader, Cirilo Gonzalez Perez, alias "El Puchini" or “Z-37”.

The vehicle was found on the border of the Mexican states of Veracruz and Puebla, Z-37, was arrested on October 30, 2015.

The vehicle, a black Explorer, was registered to Ricardo Curiel Castillo, who had been reported missing since last Saturday.  He, the sisters and four others were travelling in the vehicle when witnesses say the vehicle was stopped by members of the Civil Force on Lazaro Cardenas Blvd. That was the last time any of the seven were seen or heard from.

That same day in Veracruz, authorities discounted the participation of the Civil Force in apprehending the people.  Further noting that they were active in, "collaborating in  an investigation to determine the whereabouts of the missing persons ".

In  2015, Pachuca, Hidalgo, members of the Federal Police arrested Cirilo González Pérez, alias "El Puchini" who is considered the head of assassins of Los Zetas  in the states of Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi and Veracruz, where he was responsible for abductions, extortion and drug distribution.

Cirilo Pérez González 41 years old who within the criminal organization is known by the code name  "Zeta 37" and "El Puchini". He left the army in 1994 and subsequently worked directly with Zetas leaders, Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano and Miguel Angel Trevino Morales.

He was appointed head of several cells operating in Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi, Tamaulipas and Veracruz. In the latter state, the detainee formed a group of gunmen who managed to eliminate opposing groups to expand its presence mainly in the municipalities of Coatzintla, Papantla and Tihuatlán.

Z37 is identified as Perrito de Evelio who honored each anniversary of Lazca’s death

During the investigation it was discovered that the suspect honored each anniversary  of the death of Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano, by organizing religious memorials, gatherings and published obituaries in memory,  using the pseudonym,  "El perrito de Evelio”. Although the effort was widely reported, until now the identity of  Perrito de Evelio was unknown.

Based on the information provided by investigators, it is probably safe to assume Z37 was also the author of a Lazcano memorial flyer left in his strong hold of Poza Rica.  In October it appeared at a church, in the municipality, and along with the usual praise for Lazcano, came words of disgust and outrage at what the cartel had evolved to.

In part the flyer reads:

“If you were alive, you would die of sadness, to see what has happened to the group you formed.These rats have denigrated the group, from those who know what significance it means to be a Zeta.
But I am alive and free to continue your legacy and eliminate this trash.I miss you friend and boss”
