According to information published by Zeta Magazine
(Diario Zeta) Beto Cervantes, the lead singer of the norteña group, “Explosión
Norteña”, was killed this morning in Baja California.
Zeta reported that the singer was murdered in the
“Playas de Rosarito”, on the Artículo 125 and
Michoacán streets, in the colonia Constitución.
Eyewitnesses report, that the victim managed to take
control of one of his attackers weapon, however during the struggle the gun
fired and he was killed.
In November 2006, Beto Cervantes and two other men
were shot outside the offices of the group in the division “el fraccionamiento
Guaycura”.
In November 2007, he was arrested while in the
restaurant Mariscos Godoy in a federal operation, from which Raidel López
Uriarte “El Muletas”, escaped. López
Uriarte was presumed to be an operator for the Arellano Félix cartel.
Just a few days ago the singer/group leader, had
returned to the stage after his release.

When Beto was arrested when he was with el muletas they still where clicked up with the Arellanos. Tijuana loved Beto, all his songs where strictly Arellano corridos... I believe aquiles had something to do with it since the latest corridos of explosion talk about killing the traitors.

Walk into any Mexican dancehall and in between songs people send song requests or saludos ( shout outs ) on scraps of paper to the band. Just about every singer reads aloud the publics request. And therein lies the problem 4 many. If someone sends a saludo and someone else disapproves people get bent out of shape because their enemies are being praised. Once everyone is either drunk or high on something the gladiator in them bubbles up 2 the surface. Granted that there are many patrons that just wanna have a good time.
