The war for local-drug trafficking has started in Sinaloa between Ivan and Alfredo Guzman against Damaso and his soon "Mini Lic" Lopez.
Firefight where 1 Marine was killed in Culiacan |
Everything started in Navolato, Sinaloa, where after the arrest of "El Chapo" Guzman in Mazatlan, Damaso made an alliance with Cesar Carrillo, brother of the "Señor de los Cielos" and enemy of "Chapo" Guzman.
Ivan and Alfredo were not very happy with the alliance, however after several meetings, Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada convince them that all types of "peace making deals" were good.
Even with the new alliance, smalls clashes were still ongoing. A few months later after the last capture of "El Chapo", he had already divided the local drug sale Plaza in Mazatlan between his sons and his Compadre Damaso Lopez El Lic, then the sons of "El Chapo" made a truce with H-9 and H-2, of the Plaza of Nayarit, who are native of Mazatlan and who in the last months have been gaining ground with an alliance with Rene de la Cruz and Chonecas del aval.
According to Damaso, the truce between the sons of El Chapo and H-9 and H-2, consisted in "fucking him over", however the old wolf Damaso hold his laugh. His Compadre Guzman was already detained, why he shouldn't attack the inexperience sons of his Compadre who were doing things wrong?
He was detained, yes, but in Mexico a lot of his friends and enemies wanted to kill "El Chapo's" sons, however Damaso didn't do anything to them because he was scared of his Compadre, who was powerful free or incarcerated in Mexico, but everything changed when he was extradited .
El "Chapo" Guzman does not represent anything anymore. The Mafia perceives him as a dead man in the United States and the moment that Damaso has been waiting has arrived and he exploded like a bomb.
In the "drug houses" of Culiacan, for example in Colonia Libertad, Wisaches, Toledo, and others... the armed clashes had already being ongoing for 4 days, with 3 strong firefights reported, and two Mexican marines have been killed in action. One strong firefight in Imala were 6 Mexican marines were killed, another firefight in Colonia Villas del Real were 4 Marines died and 5 civilians were executed, also 15 "levantados (kidnapped)", 4 of them were kidnapped after leaving the Serie del Caribe (baseball tournament un Culiacan).... 18 dead bodies have been found and a lot of disappearances.
a Convoy of Federal police in Imala 5 days ago |
It is rumored that among the disappeared people, "El Javi" personnel of Damaso Lopez is included. This is just the beginning. We will share more information in the following days.
Chapito Isidro going to to have full control after all this is over
ReplyDeleteHis enemies are wiping themselves out, he's saving 💲 on bullets.
DeleteYa que los sacaron a patadas de Monterrey se fue huyendo el ogt.
DeleteIf it is El Mamason Sr y el Mamason jr vs los chapitos, WHY are the marinas and soldiers and poolesias getting killed?
DeleteAfter all they don't get involved in the crap when the bullets are flying, smells like friendly fire is taking care of the mexican governmet melitary farces, making them look stupid or impotent, to further "General Zaius" goals of sending bad hombres to mexico, "AND TAKE THE OIL"
La Chapa Chila tá escondida, porque tan cabrones los putazos y las extradiciones, se le acabaron los güebos a la chapa chila...
Delete10:45; Isidro is not going to last and certainly not el Lic. Time has proven that the type of narcos that gangbangers and fans of publicity loving thugs say they "have respect" have a career span of months and years at best. The Mexican government, USA Government and citizens of Mexico do not tolerate these terrorist over the long run.
DeleteThe funny thing is, EL TRUMPO & the DC CARTEL. will decide who runs things now.
DeleteChapo isidro has lasted and will eventually reign sinaloa
DeleteThis guys are trained militarys they even taking out marines sinaloas are some real sicarios no wonder mencho is scared to take over sinaloa he will be sent back to Michiaocan in a body bag
ReplyDeleteGood evening Officer one day it only takes time right. It's not ecomically viable to take over another state,it costs to much money and people. Your father's know this very well. It's best to buy the people and let the locals run their nation while you just manage it.
DeleteHas a outside cartel like Zetas or MF ever taken over sinaloa? I know Zetas took full control of Michoacan for a couple of years
DeleteI can tell mencho doesn't want anything to do with sinaloa he scared
DeleteNow that your idol chapita is gone for ever you have to find someone else to bow down to. Let the dogs kill each other less trash in the world.
DeleteI don't think Mencho is scared of anything. Just because he doesn't mess with an enemy stronghold it doesn't mean doodoo. You don't become head of a cartel being scared.
DeleteThe state of Sinaloa is not worth fighting for if you aren't from there. There is much more profitable states to produce or stash your drugs. Sinaloa is only good for having pretty girls with fake parts and narco corridos.
Delete3:17...are you really that clueless?
DeleteHe doesn't know that Mazatlan is an important Plaza it has a port
DeleteAnd to answer your question no, no outside cartel has ever taken over Sinaloa, it's too important.
DeleteComo los perros de cadena
ReplyDeleteComanche contra comanche
Se Van a tumbaron bastante gente
De ambos lados muy valientes
Las bajas son de esperarse
Son muy bravos los sinaloenses
Valen verga tus pendejadas
DeleteLa mencha no le tiene respeto ni miedo a ningun cabrón, lo que la mencha si tiene es precausion', y muncha muncha...
DeleteEl mencho va ser tregua con damaso
DeleteSe soltó el perro encadenao.
DeleteChapo has no chance vs mencho never had never will
ReplyDeleteDo you know how to read chapo and Cjng are not even in this so ???
DeleteMencho took over sinaloa
Delete8:58 el chapo snitched troll is not worth much commenting,
Deletebut some of youses like you, make it worth his while for him by eating all his bait, hook, line, and sinker...
Take an aspirin and don't do it again.
Wow how are so many marines getting killed? Is it because the sicarios have superior fire power? Or were they ambushed or something? If the US does send Mexico aid hopefully they send armored vehicles with turrets.
ReplyDeleteNah, it's called a ambush. Even the best special force units in the world have lost men to an inferior adversary because of a decently planned ambush. The element of surprise is the key. The Zetas were good at it back in the day. CJNG has done the most damage to the military in the last few years with their ambushes.
DeleteJust like how talibans would ambush coalition troops in A'stan. Nothing new in the book, why so surprised?
DeleteMexico needs the CIA and DEA to stop playing proxy wars on Mexican people. But seen this new administration I really doubt any change soon.
@3:50pm
DeleteThe CIA and DEA along with the Mexican Authorities have a "hand and glove relationship."
They both utliIze each other for their agendas.
3:17 Can you reference any source to back up your implied claim that the CIA has more than a passing interest in Mexico? CIA is involved in geopolitical and intelligence gathering issues that involve national security and threat issues. The "CIA" gets thrown around a lot here but 99% don't know anything about it.
Delete9:12 google: "drugs, guns and gangs, the CIA's best friends"
Delete11:04PM
DeleteThanks, I'll look it up.
I never liked Gerardo Ortiz's song anyway.
ReplyDeleteI often wonder (with no disrespect intended) how many folks/actual cartel literate people that comment on here have legitimate proof of what BB posts(which is an honor for someone like myself to be able to enjoy this type of journalism) or if the commenters are just "fueling the hysteria" I am writing a paper for school about Mexican cartels and I would do a damn backflip if I could actually get some authentic Intel lol.
ReplyDeleteThis has been going on for generations the folklore of certain events. It creates a murkiness or confusion which often helps cover up the real story. As an outsider u have to do ur own research and connect the dots
DeleteThat is so hard living in a state like South Dakota lol
DeleteI am an american citizen who worked in rural GRO (east of Ig) for 3 years. The village changed bad-people ownership 4 times in that 3 years. I am aware of plenty from that time to know that what is posted here is the real deal. The real scary thing to me is how much goes on that is never reported. I give a standing ovation to what the people with this website do. For some extra points look up when the bad people give everyone in a rural mountain community 24 hours to leave...
DeleteStart with registering so people can pm you Mr Anonymous Dork!
DeleteHey South Dakota Kid - the material on Borderland Beat is mostly translations of media reports in Mexico. (and they do a damn good job of it, thanks BB!) They always include the original source so you should be able to quote that in any school paper or for that matter, media report.
DeleteHere's another website that has lots of background information on cartels, a respectable source that's often quoted in the mainstream media (which is NOT covering the recent violence in Sinaloa at all) http://www.insightcrime.org/news-briefs/conflict-sinaloa-cartel-spike-western-mexico-violence
The New Yorker is an impeccable source of information. You can read 10 articles a month free. http://www.newyorker.com/search?q=drug+cartels
The LA Times used to have pretty good Latin American coverage, but not so much anymore.
Reuters and the BBC sometimes have good coverage of the drug cartels, although it's generally pretty broad.
I'd encourage you to read the books of Charles Bowden (who is often mentioned on BB) perhaps the most known and respected writer about drugs/corruption/etc. in Mexico and especially on the US/Mexico border.
Vice also produces some good material on Mexico and the drug trade. Here's a recent article about Sinaloa
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/inside-mexicos-cartel-territory
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/a-brief-history-of-the-relationship-between-mexican-drug-cartels-and-the-catholic-church
These sources should be totally acceptable for your school paper. Good luck and vaya con dios
3:06 Got some good solid intel for you . I been living almost 6 decades and watching drug dealers and druggies most of it . There is no honor among thieves . They can talk all this shit about honor and respect until their blue in the face . In the criminal world , when it comes down to the nut cut'n , you better be holdin the knife . These people testify against their closest allies to help their own cause . A recent murder trial were there were three involved here in Texas showed where one testified against his father and uncle . That's pretty must standard in these things . My tip to you is , study it write about it but don't get in it . It will bring you way more grief that the rewards you are after .
Delete4:08 MAN, YOU OLD, OLD, OLD, OLD! OLD GEEZER.
DeleteI don't dispute anything BB posts, but then again They are not going to jeopardize their safety for a lousy school paper lol. I wouldn't either.
ReplyDelete"El Senor de las Tanquetas" H9 aka "El Katch" es gente de los Beltran Leyvas
ReplyDeleteEra ya son independientes desque que callo el h1 hector beltran leyva
DeleteThis is all the works of Paco Cerda. He's taking control of the power vacuum in Sinaloa. With El Mayo's blessing, Paco will unleash his beast enforcer, Felix Grizzaffi on those who oppose El Mayo and the Guzman brothers.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the street prices per gram for drugs in say Sinaloa for coke and how pure is it.
ReplyDeletefree n 100% if u let them tell it
DeleteCrickets...
DeleteWhy don't you go to Sinaloa and ask them yourself.
Delete@10:23 lol exactly 🤐
DeleteThe price of heroin in Atlanta is 120 a gram... I know you didn't ask about that but as a consumer of cartel products I wanted to share with you how much money I give to Mexican cartels daily. My money has indirectly caused the death of Mexicana infortunately.
DeleteMazatlan 500 pesos for 3 grams in bars and taxi and it has been very bad since Ivan started distributing after Chapos first arrest. Locals can buy 1/2 kilo $2800-$3000 USD right now
Delete1253: I don't wish a heroin addiction on anyone. Best of luck to you as you combat that demon. :-(
Delete5:19 heroin "addiction" is not an addiction,
DeleteThe Queen is a blessing once found,
it is a pity you can't get it pure and uncut anque te mate.
--Mejor chingate la pura baking soda en pura agua y no andes toda cursienta como la seta chorrienta...
As stated before. Takeover is indefinitely. Alliances and backing for a ghost to reign in . Chapo created all this chaos and now his sons are vulnerable. What gets me though is that this Damasco character who was a government officer and aided chapos first escape to proceed as a fugitive for his actions and never be detained by government. As though impunity was awarded to freely excercise in criminal activities. How corrupt and low the government is.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless heads will continue to roll. El mayo is best to let it be. Can't stop the wheel that has been activated
It's amazing the level of impunity in Mexico, it never ceases to amaze me. I can't see something like that happening in the US, law enforcement here regularly goes after Mafia figures.
Deletehave you heard of chicago or detroit people get shot and killed every day we just dont hear about it
DeleteIt does happen very frequently in the US but there's not a corresponding blog to put up all the atrocities. That type of news is sort of kept on the down low in regional news outlets.
DeleteGuys I am not a conspiracy theorist but do you notice a pattern?
ReplyDeleteExtradition of leader to USA = Cartel Split a manner that forever fractures the organization.
This is CIA and DEA all over.
Any bets, the hit on Chapo kids was to keep them from cooperating or snitching to get a deal, leverage, or negotiation for their pops? Or pops, negotiating a deal where his sons are protected?
Or
Maybe the US and Mexican governments let Damaso know that he is now their favorite..... And it would be his turn to shine.
But let me give you an example:
Osiel gets extradited CDG splits into a bunch of cells
Zetas are now like 3 different groups
Alfredo Beltran Leyva gets pinched BLO goes to war.....then Barbie splits.... Then the whole thing fractures.
In Michoacan it was the same thing with La Familia, CT, auto defenses Viagras and now a whole bunch of groups
Guerrero Free for all, hard to keep track and women and babies getting cutting up
The concept of "divide and conquer" is a very Caucasian Anglo Saxon one. Not trying to race bait or be a conspiracy..... Look at US foreign policy, MO is the same... Cause internal strife, cause split, both sides turn guns on each other and de-stabilize the region. Middle East just an example.......
The US has pretty muched milked and got all they can get out the Guzman Loera's perhaps they have a new rooster in this fight?
Changing subjects slightly I read that Mayo was with them when an attempted hit took place, if that is the case wouldn't it have been an attempted hit on Mayo as well???
So it would be Chapo's sons and the Zambada's vs. Damaso?
Or just Chapo's sons vs Damaso
Either way this is the beginning of the end for the Glory days of Sinaloa...... I hope it's not, not because I care about a drug cartel but because we already saw what happens when a place gets destabilized. Look at Guerrero, look at Michoacan, look at Tamualipas.
You my friend sound like you have some sense and havent been using the same form of media to gather info
DeleteExcellent post. Saudi Arabia ties with US main function is instability within tribes and countries in Middle East for control. Same analogy can be implemented in MX
DeleteDamaso ain't nothing but a loser and a traitor that can't win no battle
DeleteThe US does not profit from the drug war. We spend billions of dollars a year on this fight and we don't get a return on our investment by capturing a capo and taking his cars and houses.
DeleteThe US has been pursuing the "Take down the kingpin" strategy since the days of Colombian cartels. It's long been known that cutting off the head of an organization results in the balkanization of the cartel into many micro trafficking groups. Whether that's a good thing or not is up for debate because it certainly increases the level of violence but it also weakens the cartels to the point where they will never pull off the kind of BS Escobar did in Colombia.
I hope that I am wrong, every time this happens with splits and fractures the whole region goes to hell, and the quality of life for the populace diminishes as well as safety, no one is safe, especially the innocent civilians that don't have dog in this fight.
Delete@1:00PM - are you serious? Get your head out of the sand. The US, corporations, private jails and prisons, government employment, technology companies, the largest government agencies and our top big to fail banks profit immensely from the drug war and have since the Roosevelts were smuggling opium into China. Wake up! Open your eyes! The drug war is 100% agenda driven and has been in the US since they learned how much power it afforded government from England.
Delete@ 1:00pm
DeleteHistory would beg to differ, who cut the head off of Ollie North??
Also as I type this the Mexican Marines just Killed el H2 in Nayarit. Mexican government takes out the H's and Damaso takes out Chapitos??
Game of thrones?
Or was I notfar off earlier in saying that Damaso is now the USA's and Mexico's favorite Narco. He better enjoy it while it lasts because like all the ones before him, he too will have a "shelf life" before the DEA and Mexican authorities milk him for what they can, then he will get either the Arturo Beltran Treatment or the Extradite to US treatment. Depending on how well he plays ball... With his handlers in DC and Mexico City.
11:14 - your exactly right about Damaso's shelf life. The successful and smart ones are the people you don't hear about and self publicizing themselves as bad asses. CDS loves the Mencho's of the world - shooting down helicopters with RPG's and mutilating innocents because it takes the attention and heat off their efficiently operating exporting and laundering machine!
DeleteYou my friend were worth the read. Great job !! Very well put together.
DeleteAmerican government officers spend the american people's money and credit cards in wars for profit for their billionaire friends' benefit.
DeleteLater their billionaire friends reward the US government officers with millions of dollars in jobs and benefits, and they keep plundering the american treasury and the US credit cards property of the american people, behind their backs...
Mad Dog Mattis is one of them, dick cheney, oliver north, John poindexter...
Last I heard Cesar was the son not brother of Carrillo. I doubt he would trust anyone from cds though.
ReplyDeleteDoes it really matter? Do u really know? Cuz i may have heard it was his nephew. Carrillo's r Don Neto's people thats for sure. His network has been at it for a very long time.
DeleteEl licensiado is not just anyone he's a strong leader and business man with too much power looks like chapo allowed Damaso to hold too much power for too long.
DeleteDamaso lost in baja against mayitos he ain't taking nothing
DeleteLAST I HEARD HIS SON IS DEP
Deletewhos H9 and H2?
ReplyDeleteH2 controls Nayarit for Beltran Leyvas .H9 is his nephew (H9 was with Gente Nueva then he switched sides)
DeleteEx beltranes from Mazatlan who have operations goig in Nayarit traffiking drugs and selling illegal iron to china.
DeleteThats why this year in ciudad juarez alot of executions are going on. I think for the month of January there has been 62 homicides.
ReplyDeleteNavolato is home to the carillos..
ReplyDeleteSay what you want about El Chapo but is pretty obvious he was the rock that kept CDS together now that he is gone things are falling apart and CDS will never be the same. Too much infighting...
ReplyDelete8:46 yea the infighting ...... love it . It looks bright for Sinaloa . They got they rock in jail . He will finish his live sentence much earlier than many . The tense little crybaby wont live very long . The criminal are killing each other and they are going to have hell getting their shit into the usa
DeletePrices on all the drugs just went, in the words of "fat joe" all the way up

DeleteEl Barbas
Someone will have to bleat about Trump ?
ReplyDeleteWe can can make a wish ( foundation) to let all these criminals kill each other. But we have to stick to reality being that The Wish Foundation would not accept such a request. So all we can hope for is order and tranquility. Drug trafficking will continue but misery can be hindered
ReplyDeleteWord on the street here in Culiacan is that Damaso (Mini Lic)Lopez Jr just got taken out about an hour ago.Got it from a very credible source that's connected to Damaso people...shit is really gonna get crazy in Sinaloa!!!
ReplyDeleteHeads are rolling!!!!!!! Time for everyone bunker up it's going to be a long thaw.
DeleteThere is a lot of people saying that..don't know if it's a rumor or not
DeleteDangies that sucks I had just sent a friend request to him on instagram
DeleteHe just posted on Instagram 20 min. ago.
DeleteElaborate!
DeleteCan't be lying his sources well connected
DeleteAnybody with minilics insta share it please thank you compadres!
DeleteSo if el javi was picked up that means el guayaba aint that far behind right?
ReplyDeleteEl mini lic posting up pictures of whats been happening so it is damaso v chapos i hope videos gets uploaded n everything inbetween
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you guys have been keeping up with this drug war. From what I can see they should have never let chapó extradition he kept the playground leveled now everyone wants his spot and the people of Mexico will be the victims
ReplyDelete1. Damaso helped Chapo escape to then infiltrate CDS.
ReplyDelete2. Damaso starts snitching and killing for Mexican government. Results:
a. Chapo captured and extradited.
b. Damaso attacks Mayo/Chapitos, only a mexican government plant would have the tanatas to do that.
What a plan.
That plan would have been under 3 presidents who none belong to the same party. Mexico can't organize shit that good!
DeleteFree El Chapo and bring peace to el triangulo dorado!
ReplyDeleteIf Mini Lic got hit, the war will go deep! Possibly the Mexican military will take them all out!

ReplyDeleteChapo snitched
ReplyDeleteLOL what again?
DeleteThat would be pretty awesome if it were true!!. Lil punk needs to get delt with
ReplyDeleteSo far this is the current alliance:
ReplyDeleteDamazo, RCQ, Isidros
Supported by: CJNG, La Linia.
Vs
Mayos, Chapos,
Supported by: H's.
Now who do the Beltranes side with?
Plus all those independents from Sonora, Durango, and Colima?
What about the big crime families of Sinaloa who lay low, who do they side with?
The outcome of this old fued brewing in the past 2 years will bring alot of death to these regions.
Will CDG, Z (what ever is left of them) CDN, and the smaller groups side or support one side or the other? Causing more proxy wars in other states?
-Confuscious
3:43; That might make a good novel but there's no truth to the so-called "current alliance" you describe. It's actually even absurd...you've listed neophytes that American news consumers think are big shit just b/c the Mexican news has publicized them to shine light away from the people really pulling the strings.
DeleteNo groups have more money and power in Mexico than the Carrilo family and the 10-20 families that control Sinaloa Federation (to include Mayo). The "Beltranes" gang has always worked with Isidro, Guasave thugs and Mazatlecos since the split in 2008.
Cabellero Mocorito
You give these thugs more credit than they deserve. They are ego maniacs that don't have the intelligence to forge strong alliances...anyway if you knew what you were representing like its a fact you would know that Isidro has been with Beltran for years.
DeleteAl ultimo salen sobrando las disque familias, cuando Papi Sam los manda llamar asta los mas pesados se arrodillan. Como tu papi chapo Caballero.

Alot of statements in that movie are true. Remember how it says every ten years or so a war happens to sort things out. Last one was 2008 its now 2017. ;)
DeleteReports in Nayarit say H2 died in a clash with a military helicopter.
ReplyDeleteH2 just got taken out by a marine helicopter in Tepic, the capital of Nayarit. H2 was Tepic plaza boss...

ReplyDeleteSome crazy stuff going on. Post claims H2 is dead.
Damn all this shit going down because CHAPO IS GONE... HE WAS THE MAIN GUY. I never really thought he was till now
ReplyDelete11:45pm- He was never the main guy. The main guy is and always will be Mayo Zambada. The problem here is nobody likes Ivan Guzman. Ivan has had problems with Chino Antrax, Damasos for a while. Recently Ivan was on his way with a convoy of people to Tacuichamona a ranch near El Salado and El Alamo (Mayo home turf) to kill Guti one of Mayos people because he had something against him and Mayo told him to turn the fuck around or he was going to take him out. This is stuff we never hear about but it happened. Also, Ivan is abusing his "power" by increasing rates on all drug transactions even if his product isn't involved in the deal. This especially angered Damaso and was basically the last straw hence the shootouts that have been happening lately. I highly doubt Ivan gets killed just because Mayo is going to step in amd make this war go away.
Delete11:45pm, you have very accurate information and know the landscape very well
Delete11:45 Sabes lo que otros no. cuidado paisano.
DeletePutos Chapatistas!
ReplyDeleteLOS H made a video of them taking out chapos in mazatlan they cant be with chapos. this seems to be chapos using there pool and taking over the game. like if that letter was code to unleash hell
