Veracruz: 47 more skulls unearthed in mass graves

Chivis for Borderland Beat

The Sánchez Pérez family (above) disappeared in September 2016, while attending the Beer Festival, now six months later their remains were discovered  in one of the dozens of  clandestine graves, also known as "narco fosas"  in Alvarado, Veracruz. Narcofosas are mass graves used by cartels to dispose of bodies.

On Sunday,  the Attorney General's Office confirmed that the Queretanos were found, buried in one of the graves in Arbolillo, Alvarado, along with at least 44 more bodies.

As of now only 6 persons have been identified from the remains unearthed.

Veracruz is notorious for its narcofosas, with thousands of bodies being discovered in the past decade.  More than any other state in Mexico. Funding allocated by the federal government to Veracruz for DNA data cataloguing, was allegedly pilfered, during the corrupt administration of Javier Duarte.  There are only 276 DNA results, instead of the thousands that should be in the data bank.

  4. Duartes in competence should not surprise anyone. He along with his wife should be dumped there. Not buried, no mercy nor leniency . Same as all those responsible for such activities.
Not the first and definitely will not be the last. Unfortunately Mexico has been plagued with rampant corruption and violence.
    Condolences

  5. Is the middle photo John Travolta? Kidding aside, someone should put Duarte and his ugly wife in prison forever for all the crimes they have committed.

    3. Only the government can get away with such atrocities. How can god let so many innocents die at the hands of a few bad apples! Gente que no debe nada....fuck every single government in power, fuck every single law enforcement agency, fuck every single politician of any kind.....we all had our chance to stand with the good Doctor and we let it slip. Don't think another opportunity like that will come around soon. RIP to all the innocents that have and will be affected by the Mexican narco government.

    6. These murderes are all state sponsored terrorism, remember the millions of dollars Arturo Bermudez, chief in charge of SSP de Estado de veracruz made and his real estate investments all over the state and the US? Everybody has to earn his share, and kick some upstairs, much of it to epn who3nde his deaf ears to all the complaints about the abuses in veracruz, where the zetas, the army, marinas, police corporations and the politicians have been untouchable all their motherfacking lives, no human rights organizations need bother thank you.

  7. Truly no disrespect here, but it appears all of Mexico is becoming notorious for clandestine graves. These things are popping up quicker than palm trees. Very disturbing. Soon it will be off to the next discovery. Prayers for the innocent.

    1. Just think about all of the ones that haven't been "discovered".

This kind of stuff not only sickens me but leaves me almost hopeless. Who is worse, the monsters or the ones who let them run free?

May the innocent rest in peace and the wicked burn for eternity.

Igual paso en colombia, "la Macarena" clandestine grave outside a colombia military base.
Same thing in guatemala, inside the school of the americas campus.
In chile, people still find victims of the "Caravana de la Muerte" of "augusto" pinochet, 47 years after the "expedited trials" turned murdering...

You have got to stop blaming Mexicos ills on the past, like 200 years ago,it makes you look slightly fucked in the head,we know you dont mind that, but we can also smell your hate and racism a mile away mills, try and look to the future, every country has bad pasts, even mexico.

    1. Does the death penalty work in the US ?
I'm in favor of the death penalty especially for multiple murderers, killer pedos, but it doesn't stop shit..
It does get rid of shit permanently, but stopping murder from happening etc,it don't work..
It never will cause murder and violence is in our nature, specially us dudes.

    2. Death penalties in mexico????? a shit ton of innocent men will die. The police here do not "investigate" thoroughly enough for that. people here in mexico will tell you the police look for scapegoats most of the time and not the criminals.

    3. @ 6:26 pm.....ain't that the truth!! Nice one.

    4. 6:26 exactly. The narco government will just be killing inocentes

    5. The Death Penalty exists in mexico, these clandestine mass graves are proof, it may be "extrajudicial", but it is the normal thing for sicarios of the new Oligarch Dictatorships around the world, they always take care of leaving a chance for plausible deniability wherever they go doing their crimes around the world, always blame the moslem, mexicans, arabs, terroristas or this or that narco...

  15. My question is who's finding these narcos fosas? Who's snitching. I would hire an investigation team here from thu U.S an intervene in this bs. I'm sorry but I'm convince thu people behind this is thu government that hire low life scum bags to do thu dirty work. Mexico isn't a bad place its just thu people running that ant worth a fuck. There's hope for mexico an with so much technology an improvement. Its just gonna get better. Another 20 yrs from now corruption will drop an everybody will be lock up paying for life sentence. Thu system is just gonna get stricter.

  16. Wow disappeared from a beer festival? There's more to this story. Maybe the father stop paying protection money on his business? Or maybe someone wanted the daughter and the parents got in the way?
