DD: As regular readers of Borderland Beat know we do not normally (I don't remember the last time we did) promote commercial or even philanthropic projects. But this one hit a nerve. Helping kids that have suffered and been traumatized because of the extreme violence occurring in parts of their country seems like a worth while project.

I AM SAD. I do not care about anything today |
T he new #Hearts4Kids T-shirt campaign builds on Enrique’s 2015
partnership with Save the Children to provide immediate relief to
children after a natural disaster. The new T-shirt campaign will help
children who face extremely frightening events and devastating tragedy
recover emotionally and thrive for years to come. Eleven dollars ($11)
from the sale of each T-shirt will go to Save the Children’s Healing and
Education through the Arts or HEART program in Mexico.
HEART uses the arts to help children who
experience chronic stress from their life circumstances of poverty and
other distressing events tell their personal, often painful, stories.
Through drawing, dance, drama and other art activities, children learn
how to express their feelings, such as fear, anger and grief, so they
can thrive.
“My heart goes out to kids who live in a state of constant turmoil
and stress,” said Enrique Iglesias. “I feel fortunate to partner with
Save the Children once again to make the world a little better for
children. Just as my compassionate fans have helped before, I am
confident that this new project of love and hope will provide relief to
children who feel disheartened.”
The #Hearts4Kids T-shirt is available for purchase for $27.50 online at www.enriqueiglesias.com and for $35.00 at all U.S. concert venues on his North American tour
this June and September. The T-shirt will range in price at
international concert venues. The new T-shirt is inspired from the
original design, which was a heart drawn by Enrique Iglesias on his
white T-shirt after a drone injured his hand during a concert in 2015.
The new T-shirt is a crew neck with a photo of Enrique at that concert
and is available in black or red with white lettering and image.
We are grateful to Enrique Iglesias and his fans for opening their
hearts to help children living in some of the toughest circumstances in
Mexico," said Maria Josefina Menéndez, country director of Save the
Children in Mexico. “When children bury their emotions, it can delay
their development and affect their mental health. Art can provide a
creative outlet of expression, especially for young children who
struggle to find the words for how they feel.”
Added Menéndez, “We have seen a dramatic change in children once they
share their stories. Their burden is lifted and they can focus on
learning in school.”
Save the Children launched HEART in Mexico in 2016. In year one, HEART
reached nearly 8,000 Mexican children affected by poverty, violence and
migration in five provinces, including Baja California, Chiapas, Mexico
City, Oaxaca and Puebla. The arts-based program is built into existing
curriculums for children at preschools, primary schools, child and youth
centers, and summer programs, as well as migration prevention programs
for teenagers. HEART incorporates local arts traditions and uses locally-sourced art products.
Please, que no pongan a la HIJA DE SU PINCHE MADRE Rosario Robles a colectar los sentabos, se los va a robar como se robó el dinero de los damnificados en veracruz como ministra del combate a la pobreza con epn y javier duarte,

DeleteAll the Kings Horseman n All the Kings Men, couldnt put Mexico together again. Not even Iglesias or The Pope, or the to little Kids that gave there famous speech.
ReplyDeleteWell, with that losing attitude, nothing will change indeed.
DeleteThe reason Mexico will NEVER change is because Mexico NOW consumes ALOT of drugs!
Delete@ 12:03 pm
DeleteLike many countries that consume drugs. It's not the addicts but government who ruins a country.
Mexicos corruption practices has led its country to what it is today.

Beautiful !
ReplyDeleteMany are unfortunate in this world. With poverty, sickness, and traumatic experiences that puts a burden of living. Glad to see such a charity work go for those children who did not ask to be in such a state.
Let's not forget who we truly are; human beings who are compassionate and humble.
I will definitely donate to a worthy cause. Despite some who may think it's a scam. The conception of giving and making a change in ones life should not be overlooked by deception.
Beautiful posting BB

Thanks DD and E 42 ,
DeleteGood deeds will always be rewarded.
A true reward comes from knowing that you made a positive impact for someone in need. That to me is priceless.
DeleteI am truly blessed in family, health and career.

First kill all their parents for bringing them to this world without making themselves millionaires at least,
Delete@To the readers; I am posting some comments that I would normally delete just to show that all the mean spirited people in the world are not just the sicarios of the cartels. Fortunately I think most if not all of them are the same person. He gives himself away in several ways. I delete his crap every day and he is probably one of those who complains the loudest when his comments aren't posted.
DeleteIf all the countries were to put aside 2% of their Gross National revenues to fund such programs. Life would be much more beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's only the humanitarian thing to do.
I:28 more than 2% is spent by the Rich and the Beautiful in programs for the poor that say "ayudate que Dios te ayudará" or in inglish, "raise yourself by your own bootstraps".
DeleteIf only God would help.
ReplyDelete"If only God would help"
Delete12:51 you are ignorant
Tax deduction.
ReplyDeleteFor those scrupulous individuals who prefer to write it off. Rather than truly believe in giving.

Some peoples comments are sick and disrespectful. This is a good thing to be applauded. Anyone, and in anyway, who extend a helping hand to the children of Mexican violence should be thanked for their kindness. So thank you Mr. Iglesias, and many thanks to all those who help, but remain nameless in the news. God bless and help Mexico
Delete4:14 help, and make the accounting public, otherwise, we know what is all about, I seen what happened to St Jude's children's Memorial golf fundrisings, you know?
DeleteAnd don't facking tell me you will report by next fiscal year after the IRS finishes the "audit".
Too many "tax free foundations" are nothing but scams, including the greatest of the biggest billionaires.
Please, post and let people make their own minds up, don't be affraid, nobody will lose one penny over this humble comment.
@5:30PM I posted your "humble comment" to show readers how low some people will stoop to keep other people from trying to help those in real need in Mexico.
Delete10:02 thanks,
DeleteI understand help is needed badly, but I don't understand why there should be so much need for help, unless the powerful chose for it to be like that.
It's pretty amusing to read the article before this, " The infamous La Perra released from prison", to this Enrique Iglesias stuff. What a mixed up country. I never heard of a pop star selling t-shirts while a war rages in their homeland.
ReplyDeleteIt has to feel good for a artist born and raised in Mexico to have a Spanish and American artist do their job for them. It's kinda like a dead beat dad allowing the step dad to raise his child. I'm not judging but step up your Mexican artists, government and professional athletes.
ReplyDeleteEnrique iglesias was born and raised in spain, father Julio is spanish, the mother Isabel Preysler is a socialite from Philipines, the former spanish colony now a US protectorate like mexico, enrique was sent to the US to live in florida for security reasons, it wasn't safe in spain.
DeleteExactly 11:43 Iglesias (born in Spain) is donating money for Mexician children. I was stating that Mexican artists should feel ashamed because a Spanish guy was doing their job for them. By American artist I meant Pitbull but I realized after I reread the article Pitball wasn't involved in donating he was just part of the tour. My mistake sorry. It still doesn't take away my point about Mexican's and their responsibility to take care of Mexico.
DeleteAnything south of Texas is the same country in American eyes. All 3rd world.
DeleteI agree @10:45. Artists, gov, athletes, cops, marines, president, governors, common folk, etc, etc, etc. EVERYBODY.
ReplyDeleteChildren should not be depending on the charity of others, that is an indictment on society for allowing it.
DeleteMexico's Teleton is famous for subsidizing the extravagant way of life of Emilio Azcarraga Jean who steals the money.
Most of the help mexico gets from families on the US subsidizes the governments that steal the money, but we don't stop sending
And trying to help, locally too, without making waves or noises.
5:03 religion is what mexico needs the less, Don Vasco de Quiroga used to confort the Indian slaves in Michoacan after the Conquista de Mexico, about 600 years ago.
ReplyDeleteClearly religion did not work.
Crusades older than that did not help either.
War is not helping anywhere in the world either, mainly because of the "for profit" component.
Alguna otra sugerencia?
