A leader of the Los
Aztecas gang was killed with a knife during a fight that took place inside
CERESO 3 in Ciudad Juarez, the State Attorney's Office said. Four additional
men were injured.
The victim was identified
by the Special Prosecutor's Office, as Daniel Calderón Queen, 36, a member of the Los Aztecas gang.
The deceased was involved
in the aggravated homicide of 8 men and 3 women, on August 3 at a safe house in
the Praderas de los Oasis neighborhood in Ciudad Juarez.
The prison clash occurred in a
corridor inside the CERESO, between gang members of Los Aztecas and Artistas Asesinos.
The official report
indicated: "around 8:20 hours this Wednesday, August 22, there was a
notice of a fight in the corridor of the area that connects to the hospital,
when inmates who went to the hearing were confronted."
In addition, in the
preliminary report, it is made known that four people were injured , which were attended by the medical staff of the Penitentiary
Center, but Daniel Calderón Queen lost his life while receiving medical
attention in a hospital.
