On 22 August, the
director of Tijuana’s municipal police, Mario Martinez, provided crime
statistics for the first seven months of the year.
In the year to July 2018,
violent theft against individuals and businesses decrease by 37%; violent and
non-violent vehicle theft decreased by 11% and 41%, respectively; violent
residential theft decreased by 35%; violent street robberies by 52%; and
overall robberies decreased by 35%.
The apparent decline in these crimes comes
in the context of increasing homicide rates in Tijuana resulting from an
escalating turf war between several organised crime groups including the
Sinaloa Cartel, the Arellano-Félix Cartel, and the Cártel de Jalisco Nueva
Generación (CJNG).

ReplyDeleteThe Balkanization of Mexico goes on unabated until one new organization takes over, even Pope Francisco warned about this.
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting, even more now that cartels do what they once had off limits: innocent people. I wonder if these local cells are keeping these criminals at bay even while they fight eachother, like back when certain crimes where "not allowed" by the cartel in charge of an area and this was throughout Mexico, CDS was known by this the most, as if the cartels where the police and kept the order, it obiously still happened but those caught that had robbed, stole something, or even made a big scene where punished sometimes killed sometimes just beat up. Most likely this is not accurate, just a miserable attempt to water down the fact that Tijuana is on its most violent year.
ReplyDeleteCriminal groups from Tijuana, particulary those from CAF, have taken pride of Tijuana and claimed Tijuana for tijuanenses. Right now Tijuana is the 5th city in the world with the most homicides, and this is attributed to a violent struggle between the Jalisco and Sinaloa cartels, yet in reality here the perpetrators and the victims are people from Tijuana. These are people that are neighbors from eachother (colonias not next door) fighting for street corners, they are killing eachother in the name of some outside groups using them for their benefit. These arent guys that arrive from Jalisco killing guys that arrived from Sinaloa and vice versa, The guys from CTNG and Aquiles could make agreements, each one on their area, put their problems aside and form a federation, 1 cartel made up of these groups each one with their leader that consult eachother in decision making and support eachother, that worked for cds until recently, they can be one cartelna federation and reject both cds and cjng, they really dont need the support from either cartel, sinaloa has fields alot of sierra thats why theyre so rich from the cultivation of marijuana and poppy, tijuana doesnt have that no fields bit doesnt matter because marijuana and heroin are losing money to synthetic drugs whih can be made in warehouses and tj has those, plus caf was at one point really powerful simply by charging anyone that used the border. This way there is no Sinaloa vs Jalisco War in Tijuana, probably even diminish their presence ALOT, since the current members wouldnt be from either cartel anymore, the murder rates have a higher chance to fall. Unfortunately for these guys, most turned from suppliers to consumers, most are tweeked out with no clear thinking and their ego and greed is much higher so IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN
ReplyDelete@3:23 - La pura neta. Same goes for pretty much any other place in Mexico. And ultimately, even the cartel leaders themselves are doing all the dirty work for the corrupt politicians. Triste pero cierto.....

Aquiles is CDS in Tijuana, He answers to Don Mayo who put him there and gave him an army. CAF are the ones who got suckered into a pack with el mencho. They didn’t want to work with CDS after they offered them a deal so they go and become CJNG puppets. Gave them all their routes & connects now they are irrelevant, worst then they were before they made a packed. CDS is going to come out on top and the biggest loser is CAF. Facts!!
Delete5:46 the politicians do not mess with the ship or the cappers in person, they send the municipales, the estatales, the federales, the melitary and other international mercenaries to extort and exploit the narcos through their mini-leaders and leave them alone to kill each other, but you are right to put politicians at the top of the feeding chain.
DeleteSince when is CAF about the people of TJ?? Every single one of these battles is about greed and the guy on top. Also one thing that puts CDS as apples and oranges is that CDS does not focus so much on micro trafficking in Mexico. Don’t get me wrong -Ivan has always been a prick about his dope being sold in Culiacan and Mazatlan whenever his daddy was away; but that was ego more than greed. CDS does make money on H and even mota - and they obviously move the lionshare of crystal and coke. The result of this battle is. CJNG saying your either with or against me and those without the connections to CDS are left out in the cold.
DeleteKeep in mind that unlike microtrafficking the pushing weight like CDS requires a fraction of the people, hence puns for pound (o kilo por kilo) it’s more compartmentalized and involves a few compared to slanging. Two very different biz models.

There was a manta not long ago where la cafetera answered to ctng saying ti is for those from tj and no outsider is gonna control.... But seems like they ended up giving in
