Mexico.- The Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) of Mexico reported today that in coordination with members of the armed forces rescued 39 Cuban migrants , who had been kidnapped by four of their compatriots .
The general director of Control of Previous Inquiries of the PGR, Jorge Nader Kuri, indicated that the rescue was carried out on Thursday night near the resort of Cancun , in the Mexican Caribbean.
The official said that members of the PGR, in coordination with personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) of the National Defense (Sedena): "rescued in Cancun 35 men and 4 women, all of them migrant victims , of Cuban nationality, who It seems they were deprived of their freedom and waiting for a probable payment for their release. "
Nader Kuri explained that the discovery of the people was derived from an anonymous report to which security elements responded, who went to a building in downtown Cancun to verify the situation.
He noted that, in the review, the police heard cries of help, so they entered the place, and, once inside, the victims pointed to four men, of Cuban nationality, as the probable persons responsible for their deprivation of liberty, after which were arrested.
The official explained that when transporting the victims in vehicles for medical attention, a fifth individual, of Mexican nationality, "was pointed out by approximately 30 victims as the one who brought them food, so he was also arrested."
He added that the police found cash in addition to telecommunication equipment and vehicles.
The detainees, together with the insured, were placed at the disposal of the agent of the Public Ministry of the Federation in order to determine their legal status.
Because of its proximity to Cancun , some 300 kilometers away, migrants from Cuba see the Mexican resort as a place to stay or a first step on their long journey to the United States.
So Cuban sequesters were sole culprits? No Mexican criminal organizations to be held accountable?
ReplyDeleteKind of bold for the Cubans to be able to carry out their criminal activities in a country where mexican cartels rule?
Even Cubans are carrying out kidnappings here. They also realize how easy it is to get away with it in Mexico. Well not this time though.
ReplyDeleteWow Cubans come to Mexico to kidnap, there no business in Cuba of kidnapping?
DeleteCubans in Mexico, unheard-of. Perhaps they want to join de Cartels. Trump eliminated free crossings, from Cuba to Florida.
ReplyDeleteCubans have been going to Mexico to get to the United States for decades. Some actually stay in Mexico. - Sol Prendido

DeleteCan’t believe they ratted on the guy from Uber eats! I’m sure Cubans have never heard of it.
ReplyDeleteCuba . If we could normalize relations with them there would be no reason to leave . The problem is the powers that be want things to stay as they are so they can continue power and a lavish life style while the regular person suffers . Fidel promised the opposite and they became strong enough in 1959 to over throw a corrupt government , only replacing it with more corruption . There were gringos that volunteered believing t was a good cause . Only to find out later , it may have become worse .
