Life in prison
Dámaso López Núñez,
"El Licenciado" the man who got El Chapo out of prison in his laundry
cart escape has been sentenced today to life in the federal court of
Alexandria, Virginia, after pleading guilty.
López Núñez apologized to
the people of the United States in his court statement.
His pre-sentencing
report recommending life was filed on Wednesday.
In his previous plea agreement he was given a
possible offer of a three level down grade.
[Both documents are posted below]
On its face the life
sentence mean just that, that the 51 year old will leave prison in a pine box.
Chapo
Trial
This becomes relevant
and interesting when connecting to the Chapo trial. López Núñez was expected to be a strong
cooperative witness against his former boss.
So now what? If this is really the deal, then why expose him
to harm in prison by testifying? Well….what
if this is a ploy? He can now testify
before jurors and declare that he was there for the right reasons. That he didn’t get a free pass, he received a
life sentence. That would give great
credibility to his testimony.
Then after the trial
his sentence could be adjusted.
Impossible? Nope, it has happened
before.
The life without parole
prison sentence, for AFO cartel leader Francisco Javier Arellano Félix, was
reduced to 23 1/2 years because he’s provided crucial information to the
government that has led to prosecutions in the U.S. and Mexico, according to
federal court records.
Cooperation
Judge Larry Burns, of San
Diego District Court, said prosecutors had outlined Arellano’s “extensive
post-sentencing cooperation,” providing information on both cartel figures and
the public officials who worked with them on both sides of the border.
In the case of Dámaso
López Núñez, who knows. Possibly inside
a document filed right after his sentencing hearing today, would provide some
answers.
But that document,
Docket 40, is sealed.
Damn, I didn't know you could still reduce your sentence after it was already given to you. At least not in a case like this one (life in prison).
ReplyDeleteHe's definitely going to spill the beans.
Smart move actually...i wonder how the defense is going to counter..i know how i would. but not sure if would not be allowed in
DeleteA Rule 35 motion is a motion filed by a prosecutor under the authority granted by Rule 35(b) of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure. It asks a court to reduce a previously-imposed sentence based on "substantial assistance" by a defendant provided after sentencing.
DeleteI guess Chapo’s defense could explain the Tigrillo precedent but it’s all just postulating so the jury will take it with a big grain of salt.
DeleteClever indeed. Good post. Staying tuned...
ReplyDeleteCanadian girl
He was a traitor. He betrayed El Senor Chapo los menores and killed my brother in arms El Bravo.
ReplyDeleteSICARIO 006
Guzmanes killed bravo. Youre losing credibility bro. I thought you were legit.
DeleteOh honey don't take it personally.
DeleteCanadian girl
Yea ok! Like chapo never betrayed Anybody lol
DeleteThis highly trained Keyboard Warrior has a unhealthy obsession with the Guzman family. If anyone actually thinks 006 is legit I can’t help but laugh.
DeleteEl Bravo is rolling in his grave having 006 claim that they were brothers in arms.
DeleteChivis they are saying 3 of the prosecutors from the Chapo case where at the sentence hearing in the front row.
ReplyDeleteMica
the plot thickens Mica...
DeleteThere's no plot or chess game here. They are all heading to Florence for life. The chapo trial is just a public display to punish someone for America's drug problem. Once your flown north on that DEA leer jet, the fat lady has sung...
DeleteAnd the loser turned himself into us authorities!
ReplyDeleteWrong. That was his son
DeleteThat was Mini his son that turned himself in.
DeleteAgreed to be extradicted.
DeleteHe’s probably willing to take life so long as his son and family get off free.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it was worth it in the end. He’s gonna die in prison and his family can never go back to their home state without getting murdered.
If they raise their offsprings in the US then its a win imho
DeleteNot everyone want to live in US. There are many Mexicans living well that like living in Mexico. Life is not all about work there. I know I go often
DeleteThis is a good chess game. Chapo could get out of check mate.for a little while at least. Interesting!

Chapo's cooked on his name alone. They don't need damaso's testimony. So nieve to think chapo will get a fair trial. He's public enemy #1 in a country ravaged by a heroin epidemic. And every juror there knows exactly who he is. If anything, this damask sentencing should just solidify that if u are a Mexican cartel member extradited to the US, it's OVER for u.end if story...
ReplyDeleteHarm in prison??? WTF LOL he is going Supermax. Way to dangerous for gen pop in any prison he is going the admin route to ADX where PeeWee Guzman will be joining very him shortly.
ReplyDeleteOoh not so fast my friend. Remember a criminal by the name of whitey bulger? He was as high if not a higher regarded criminal turned "informant, or snitch". Somehow he was beaten to death with padlocks and socks just weeks ago. No one is ever 100 percent safe inside.

It’s nice to see he doesn’t have that crazy looking chinstrap on his face anymore. That American federal diet does wonders. - Sol Prendido
ReplyDeleteYa....he looks like a tweaker...He like the yayo, or crystal?
Deletethe on the video was his brother adolfo. not damaso
DeleteGrandeRojo I’d say yayo. Them being older gentlemen they’re more likely to powder up than resort to meth. That’s what I think. - Sol Prendido
Delete6:03 Damn my trivia is really bad then. - Sol Prendido
DeleteWhy bother to cooperate? Is the life sentence before he cooperates?
ReplyDeleteAUSA James Trump, any relation to the president of USA?
ReplyDeleteHave they found bravos killers he was a good hombre
ReplyDeleteBetter than cholo Ivan
DeleteLic killed him when chapo got busted in Maza
DeleteAny one know what happen on chino anthrax I seen he plead guilty but I can't find nothing 9n his sentencing or what happen to him... did he turn infirmant??
ReplyDelete@5:27PM EXACTLY!! justice.gov said he was getting sentenced october 16 2015 and that was in
Deletemay 2015. and no more reports after may 2015????
San Diego MCC, He is in protective custody.
DeleteHe's in jail right now. California, I think.
DeleteYeah wonder if he testifies against chapo
DeleteHe isn't snitching - fearful for his family in Sinaloa.
ReplyDeleteThey left sinaloa when the guzmans started throwing their relatives out of planes over their own houses.
Delete8:22 Yup i remember that
DeleteBBC coverage of Chapo trial and WOD
ReplyDeletehttps://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-46378685/mexico-s-drug-war-has-the-tide-been-turned
The US Government knows what it’s doing either scare Damaso into saying whatever they want since it will look good in his part and then reduce his sentence or like the post said make his statement more Creditable and then reduce his sentence but no one will be doing life besides job no once snitches for free in the world man come on!!!! It’s all a game and chapo knows it there trying to get everything out the way so the day if he ever does end up in Parison mayo wont get extradited
ReplyDeleteAnother man betrayed by the dirty sleazy Guzmanes after all he did for them. He had a big part breaking chapo out and stayed loyal until they stole the plaza he kept for them.
ReplyDeleteEl lic got greedy you can tell you got your info from the chapo Series
DeleteIt’s funny how you keep saying Chapo a snitch but other people testifying in court but no it’s still Chapo LOL
DeleteTrue damazos did all chapos dirty work and got bad rep for controlling areas that Chapo wanted and at the end Ivan literally kicked damazo in the ass and told him he needed all his plazas and turned mayos people on them
DeleteWhat plazas did damazo had?
Delete242 navolato, elDorado, bcs
DeleteEl chapo this is exactly whats going to happen to your ass. Both of this fucks are going to be in florence col. Hope they stab them both so the taxpayers dont pay for this bullshit.
ReplyDelete7:03 that's sad wishing death on the next man. .You don't even know these people... I wouldn't wish death or prison to my enemy. .. You need counseling and medical attention.. Good thing that hate is a disease and it's curable.. 😂
Delete9:49 am i kind of agree with you about wishing death on someone you dont really know but i think you are going tooooo far saying you wouldnt wish death or prison for your enemies...You must have play enemies or simply people who disagree with you because if you had enemies trying to murder you and you didnt want them dead for whatever strange,You should at least want them imprisoned so you could feel a little safer. You need counseling because your heart is way to kind..Your Family should fear as long as you are head of household. You sound like you have 0 backbone..
Delete9:49 you sound like a Bernie Sanders fan. Sappy comment, enjoy your bubble.
DeleteThis made me think of Nicky Barnes...
ReplyDeleteAfter Barnes cooperated with the government by working as an informant, Rudolph Giuliani sought a reversal of Barnes' life sentence. Eventually, Barnes was resentenced to 35 years.
Anyone who read the title was like no way this trial is in Mexico, he would of got like 1 year if this trial was mexico
ReplyDeleteIs what it is el rucko fue bueno con si jente El Chapo no te acupa te entrega
ReplyDeleteOhh America how u make sure to seriously fuk anyone into who won't play ball with you
ReplyDeleteI think lics sentence is a point of reference for the jury...if this guy who wasnt near Mochomo's level as far as product and profits or experience, gets life how can you not convict chapo? shit life seems easy compared with how much more crime has been committed JGL than this rookie. I wouldn't brag that America forces em to play ball. if u wanna use a sports analogy u could say that the U.S. is forcing them to play but the U.S. is trying to throw the pigskin around and it's like they dont know the game is futbol not football. I wonder if they realize that they safe kept chente for 9yrs in Chicago and it looks like they're gonna let him go home only to become a bigger and better trafficker than chapo ever was.
DeleteFrankTheTank
which leads to a more interesting question...if mayo is the puppet master it looks like he is. where does that leave the chapitos? I'm sure they dont like the fact that mayo threw his compadre under the bus to get back chente. but mayo is the one keeping them alive at the moment. Anyone wanna place any bets how long they live after papi's sentencing? I give em about 1 to 6 months.
DeleteFrankTheTank
@11:50 Mayo threw no one under the bus. These guys know what they are getting into and that anyone caught will cooperate. Just look at the Arellano brothers where one of them literally told the other one to plead guilty because he was gonna testify against him if he chose to go to trial. Chapo’s blaming mayo as we speak while on trial, this is how it goes they all know that
