El Mencho: Now Public Enemy #1 in US

The trial of the former leader of the Sinaloa cartel ,   ''El Chapo'' Guzman , opened last Monday in New York City as we all know.  With ''El Chapo'' in trial, ''El Mencho'', becomes the new public enemy number 1 of the United States.

Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, "El Mencho", is 52 years old. Uncontrollable, he has last been seen in Mexico, without further indications of his whereabouts, save rumors of sightings. An ultra violent man, "El Mencho" is responsible for dozens, if not uncountable, murders:

Detained once in 1992 after crossing the border several times using different pseudonyms, "El Mencho" was sentenced to five years in prison, but was released three years later.  Imprisoned in  Texas , he finally returned to his home in Mexico before joining with local police forces in the State of Jalisco.

However, the death of Amado Fuentes , then considered a true drug trafficker, motivated him to join the "other side". Then he committed himself to the side of the Millennium cartel . 

He then married the sister of one of his chiefs and climbed the ladder after the cartel was gradually decimated. The arrests and murders played in their favor and in 2009, the picture evolves to a new dimension. 

According to intelligence reports, he was responsible for a terrorist escalation against the military and police, since 2015, in several Mexican cities and states. He traffics drugs, allegedly from America, Asia, Europe and Africa. Under his command, the CJNG became one of the main criminal organizations in Mexico and one of the most dangerous, making it a strong counterweight in the struggle for the power of local crime with the Sinaloa Cartel, in addition to its fight to the death against his great enemy "Los Zetas" morphing in 2018 to the surviving faction "Cartel del Noreste", the reason why the CJNG is also called "Los Mata Zetas".

The CJNG cartel also has an international presence in Canada, the United States, Argentina, the Netherlands, Ghana, Nigeria, Morocco, Russia, the Balkans, the Middle East, China, South Korea, Germany, Colombia, Peru, Central America, Bolivia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Poland, Australia and Cambodia, which has led to overcome the Sinaloa Cartel in the control of national and international hallucinogen traffic for the first time since its formation.

In 2018, the PGR increased to 30 million Pesos the reward to anyone who provides information that leads to the capture and / or death of "El Mencho", thus becoming the most wanted drug trafficker in Mexico along with Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, leader of the Sinaloa Cartel . The United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) increased the reward for the capture of "El Mencho" from USD $ 6 to USD $ 10 million, in addition to adding him to its list of the most wanted.

Years after  Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's escape from the maximum security prison of  Altiplano, today the capo faces 17 accusations as leader of the Sinaloa Cartel for drug trafficking, homicide, illegal use of firearms, money laundering, in a Court of the United States, which could keep him for life in a super maximum security prison.

Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, "El Mencho", leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), is nowadays without a doubt the most wanted capo by all   authorities, occupying the place which Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán Loera, leader of the cartel of Sinaloa, once held.
