Two men were attempting to rob a house but, resisting the assault, the man of Swiss origin and his wife were attacked with a knife; he died, she was taken to the hospital seriously wounded. The events occurred this morning at the Club Deportivo de Acapulco Fraccionamiento.
The morning of Thursday, in a presumed assault, a man originally from Switzerland was killed with a knife and his wife was seriously injured , in the Sports Club of Acapulco. Before 6 o'clock in the morning, a call to the 911 emergency service, alerted the authorities of what happened.
The events took place on Roca Sola Street in the Club Deportivo district , when apparently two men went into the house with the intention of stealing, and when they resisted, the couple was attacked with a knife .
According to testimonies gathered, the victims were on vacation in Acapulco and apparently the motive for the crime was the attempted robbery.
The 84-year-old man is originally from Switzerland and died from injuries caused by a sharp-cutting weapon. The wife of the deceased was seriously injured and taken to a private hospital for medical attention, including surgery.
The man of Swiss nationality was identified as Rene 'N', 84 years old; his 71-year-old wife, Mercedes' N, was taken to a hospital where she underwent surgery, as she had wounds on her face, hands, neck and left side.
The motive was apparently robbery and the weapons were knives, this photo tells the story.

Went there in 2016 with my girl who was raised there. So beautiful and so dangerous. Definitely would not feel safe there. A lot of random violence all over the place. Much better place when the Beltran Leyva were in control.

DeleteI agree with you. I've been going for 27yrs. I now still go like one time per year as I truly enjoy my time there and all the nostalgia, but it sucks knowing how bad it's become and how out of control. This is directly in the tourist zone. All those bars along the strip are mostly closed now, empty or filled with low lives on the weekend, not like it used to be. Still the best weather and views in the world. If you stay at your hotel and rarely go out at night, I'd consider it a safe destination...The more you go out and about the higher the risks. It bad, but shouldn't be compared to Syria.
DeleteAbout 11:00 A.M Friday,in Acapulco, at The Mega Comercial in the Diamante (Diamond) area, my buddy heard automatic gun fire. He said he heard about seven shots. He assumed a robbery was taking place. He did not stick around to investigate. Everyone scrambled to get out of there.

DeleteIronically not too much but my friends with villas for rent can’t even get them rented for New Years. You can buy places with a view for cheap though and rehab but I wouldn’t live there. I have friends that live winters there. They love it but definitely don’t feel safe like before. Luckily they are In Highrise buildings with security and others around.

CAN NOT convince them of reality, they don't want to know, don't want to see, and will NOT believe what I tell them until they see it for themselves. DeleteThanks @4:30 It is always an adventure in Mexico, but I am going to a very rural area where I know 4 generations of the familias......and last year was the first was the first time I have missed in 32 YEARS.....due to all kinds of craziness; so, if you can only can only imagine ! I shall try to stay in contact when possible and will surely have somme adventures to report !!
