Chetumal, Q Roo: Plane Abandoned with 1.4 Tons of Cocaine

Chetumal, Quintana Roo: The PGR, the Ministry of National Defense and the Federal Police seized an airplane that was abandoned with almost 1.4 tons of cocaine at the Chetumal International Airport 

The delegation of the Attorney General of the Republic in Quintana Roo initiated an investigation folder for crimes against health, according to a statement issued by the federal agency on Tuesday to publicize the finding.

"According to the Approved Police Report carried out by federal agents, the Hawker-type aircraft landed at the Chetumal International Airport and was abandoned at the head of a runway," said the Attorney General's Office.

Elements of the Federal Ministerial Police and experts conducted various procedures and, upon opening the aircraft, found 1, 398 "bricks" in 43 packages, with a net weight of one ton 396 kilos 557 grams 5 milligrams of cocaine hydrochloride showing a profile purity chemical.

The alkaloids and the aircraft were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry of the Federation in the delegation of the PGR in the entity to continue with inquiries about this case.

  4. That’s weird why would somebody abandon a plane just like that with dope. Someone is trying to make the comandante look good, if you ask me that’s a big investment. That Comandante better be loyal for years to come. That air strip will be on full patrol from now on, no one would Dare land with drugs there. Or would they lol

  18. They were to land the plane in Belize, but the Belize army and police made it impossible to land,so they had to emergency land in chetumal ,so yes heads will role in both countries

  22. Who controls Cancun and Playa Del Carmen these days?.. just wondering. Let’s hope things stay quiet there amongst the cartels...and doesn’t become out of control like Acapulco.. The Mayan Riviera is still such a beautiful place to visit... tourism money is much needed for the economy there.. would be such a shame to deter tourists to the area. Truce time for that area please...
