Singer Roberto Tapia says he was kidnapped then released in Michoacán

Chivis Martinez for Borderland Beat-thanks for the video BB follower!

"Despite what happened" in Michoacán, shows are not canceled, announces Roberto Tapia

Singer Roberto Tapia is on tour in Michoacán, and according to his social media was kidnapped by an armed commando, but released.  Tapia is known for “Narocorrido” genre of music, many dedicated to El Chapo, and Michoacán cartel capos.

The attorney General’s office denied that there was a kidnapping involving the singer.

The AG further stated that investigations into the allegation proved to be negative. For his part the singer said no matter what happened they are moving forward with the concerts.

There was a call to the emergency center reporting that Tapia and his team were taken by a commando, but by the time police mobilized the musicians had been released.

Tapia’s rep, Freddy Perez, through his Instagram account confirmed that they were ‘attacked’, but gave no details.  “Thank God we are alive”, said the rep.

Note:

This was said to have been an “Express Kidnapping”.  An Express kidnapping is when one or more persons are abducted and their atm card and pin is demanded.  The victims are held until means have been exhausted to withdraw money.  Usually victims are allowed to go free after the transactions are made.   Sometimes family is called and a demand of a relatively small amount of money is asked for.  More below

Field information from citizen intelligence confirms that popular singer Roberto Tapia was picked up by an armed commando in the Apatzingan - Buenavista road section after the caravan in which he was traveling was intercepted when they were heading to the region for an event. After a strong operational deployment the singer was already released. In the zone of conflict the armed pre-tension and road risk continue, for which reason they are still recommending not to use that route to avoid danger.. Authorities of all levels are already in the area to open the roads and regulate circulation, there are reports of confrontations in the area.

  4. Yeah, I guess this is newsworthy.

IMHO, just like anti-social and decadent lyrics in American black ghetto rap, Mexican narco-corridos aid and abet the violence and social disintegration of Mexico.

To me, most narco-corridos glorify violence and criminal lifestyles in ways that young people find palatable and meaningful to them. Does Mexico need to be doing this to its young?

Now that Roberto Tapia is given the chance to live, maybe he can give us his honest views concerning narco-corridos and Mexico's young.

    2. Mexican Narco corridors are bad but Rap and hip hop music are way worse at least they use real instruments in corridos and we can make sense of the lyrics no matter how awful and lame they might be these days.

    4. Lol narco corridos as a genre, wishes it was at hip-hop's level in terms of popularity and worldwide fame.

    5. @10:50 Rap and hip hop have taken over the world. Not knocking narco-corridos, some of them are catchy even though I miss most the words, but you don't see Russians and Italians and Koreans and Kenyans making narco-corridos. Knock rap if you like, kids today don't give two dead flies what old farts think.

    6. Corridos are FOLK music. You mirricans comparing it woth yoir plastic pop culture RAP is ridiculous.

    7. Well 11:31am those who have studied corridos, in its pure and early form, it is comparable to rap. during the revolutionary war corridos were use to spread news, and recount events. early rap the same. of course the execution sounds much different but that isn't the point, at its core its purpose is likewise. They are both narratives, story telling.

    1. Michoacan is a sad state. I went there a couple of years back and unfortunately the drug of choice is Meth. The cartel bosses there also have a very big cacique like ego where they believe they are gods (el mas loco) or walk around having the top of their hands kissed like the pope (la tuta) Others like el mencho believe going up against the government is good for business.

    10. 7:32 it's cartel related pendejo.. who would want to hear corridos of their enemy in their territory? I know sinaloas that hate anything to do with zeta singers like beto Quintanilla but they ain't even in a cartel lol that's hating

      Delete
    11. @9:35 you just contradicted yourself perro. Exactly I know Tamaulipecos that hate on Sinaloese music In General, hate on banda and banda has always been happy music with a bit of narco corridos here and there. So don’t open your mouth and say it ain’t the same on that side playboy.

    12. So much hate from the shinola groupies. The post 12:41pm, said it best. They probabaly told his ass not to play certain corridos belonging to cds. Shinola groupies quick to hate. The truth is CJNG is all over Buenavista and Apatzingán. That types of stuff happens all the time here in La Tia, Enigma Norteña didn’t play at Pulgas recently a narco manta (CTNG) didn’t want them to play certain songs for cds shinolas. Same thing happened to Gerardo Ortiz, told him his ass better not play that song Aquiles Afirmó which is for Achilles. That got canned really quick, shit the Tucanes don’t even come no more. So much hate, the truth is that Michoacán has been operating as long as the shinolas, but they cartels/families are low key. People just got wind of the Valencias Los Cunis and have been around for EVER and still are. They are other families in Michoacán but you don’t here them burning themselves out like dumb ass shinolas. You gotta fly under the radar to last long in that game playboy!

    13. 10:06 I know sinaloas that hate michoacano corridos because they don't talk about Sinaloa. Michoacanos and other states can care less unless it's a cartel..they dont even like the corridos that sinaloas sing for michoacan capos, there are many too.. it's here 8n the states, I don't know how it works in Mexico though

  9. What’s the point of posing with a toy AR? People with no military experience like to show off their firearms but have zero discipline or marksmanship for that matter. In the U.S those who never served join the NRA not so much for the right to bear arms amendment but to feel like tactdoodle dudes and wear patriotic shit because they couldn’t join or to scared to serve in the Armed Forces. In Mexico se apodan commandantes y Fuerzas especiales. This Tapia guy wasn’t even kidnapped he’s just trying to get attention like when Putillo Rivera shot his own SUV up with a BB gun around the same time el que cantaba de su culo Valentin Elizalde was killed.
