Veracruz: Bank Robbery and 50 Murders

XALAPA, Veracruz: In the first two weeks of the new government of Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, Fifty people have been deprived of their lives, and 15 of these homicides are qualified as feminicides.

At that juncture, García Jiménez and the current Attorney General of the State (FGE), Jorge Winckler Ortiz - personal lawyer  of ex- Gov. Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares - have traded  mutual accusations supported by press conferences. Today, García Jiménez noticed that strategies are being carried out on public security material to prevent the insecurity that exists in the state; However, he commented that the first step is for the FGE to imprison the criminals.

While Cuitláhuac García and Jorge Winckler exchange accusations, today in the Pueblo Magicó of Coatepec, a group of assailants stormed the Banamex branch of the historic center to demand the money stored in the financial institution.

As a measure of pressure, they sprayed the customers in the front row with gasoline to demand the loot. Although a heavy security device was mounted, the Civil Force did not find those responsible.

The finding of Itzel Mar Betancourt, a 24-year-old student, who was found murdered yesterday on the Tancoco highway in the north of the state, caused social media outrage and outrage. On her Facebook account, her mother, Gabriela Mar Betancourt, posted: "Forgive me daughter for not working hard enough to pay your ransom and you were killed. Daughter I love you, rest in peace Itzel Mar. Forgive me for not having enough money to pay. Kisses my love, God welcomes you with open arms and your dad Ramon Mar Betancourt will help you to reach the Kingdom of heaven. "

The murder of Itzel Mar has caused a commotion in the north of Veracruz, since she has been more than a month in captivity, and neither the outgoing government of Miguel Ángel Yunes nor the current government of Cuitláhuac García could solve the crime.

According to official figures of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), so far this year 168 murders have been registered in the entity per month. From January to September, for example, there were 1,220 homicides, of which 940 were intentional and more than 500 were committed with firearms.

Last year the situation was even more critical: 2, 306 homicides, of which 1,562 were intentional and 911 with a firearm; there were, in addition, 79 feminicides.

    Only those with strong connection to the cartels have protection.

  4. Death penalty for all these individuals already. Maybe then these criminals will think twice before committing a crime.
    Veracruz and Guerrero are the worst of infested corrupted officials IMO of Mexico.
