Juarez: Security alert issued after violence by La Linea and Los Mexicles

For two days violence has permeated Juarez.

"La Línea" and "Los Mexicles" allied to orchestrate and execute  attacks against municipal police.
Eight officers have been shot, 2 critically.  

12  alleged perpetrators were arrested, including two leaders of "Los Mexicles" identified as Jesus Daniel LR and Luis Santiago EC, nicknamed "El Miclo". All were consigned to the PGR, he reported.

The first attack recorded at the home of a commander of the SSPM, at 14:53 hours, on the streets El Principio and Puerto Cádiz, five alleged perpetrators were arrested who wounded three police officers by gunshots.

The detainees were identified as Ulises MH, 25; Eliazar E. de la P., of 26; Alan Alexis CL; Edgar David NV and Kevin PB

The second attack was recorded at 3:16 p.m. at the intersection of De las Torres Avenue and Zaragoza Boulevard, where a female agent was injured.

A third attack occurred in the city center at 3:40 pm, against an agent of the Special Police, it was at the intersection of Manuel Acuña and Ramón Ortiz streets.

The same agent arrested a 16-year-old woman identified as Linda Yessenia G., who was in possession of a cell phone with instructions to assassinate the officer, Mayor Cabada said.

At 4:50 pm, the fourth attempted homicide event was recorded leaving  four injured officers who were guarding the East District station of the SSPM in the Arcadas subdivision.

A fifth assault occurred at 7:23 pm against the facilities of Distrito Poniente located on De los Aztecas Avenue, without injured agents, it was reported.

Minutes later, the last of the events was reported at 7:52 pm, when an official unit of the corporation was shot at the intersection of Justo Sierra and Ramón Rayón streets in the Salvárcar neighborhood, where an alleged hit man named Cristian was arrested,  24 years old.

The municipal police and elements of the Prosecutor's Office later detained Héctor Samuel GR, aged 26; Ramón Heriberto GD, 37; Ramón GL, 38, and Jesús Daniel LR, 36, after the assault with a firearm on police elements at a safe house.

The mayor said that members of those organizations burned a bus on Avenida Tecnológico and Aeronáutica after the arrests, attempting to confuse the authority.


This prompted OSAC to issue a security alert for Juarez.

Event:  The Consulate General is aware of a series of connected attacks against police officers in Ciudad Juarez and Chihuahua City that started on January 17, 2019.  Authorities believe that members of organized criminal groups are carrying out these attacks, which are expected to continue.  U.S. government personnel have been advised to avoid police stations and other law enforcement facilities in both cities to the extent possible until further notice.

  1. For police and other emergency assistance, dial 911.
  2. Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
  3. Monitor local media for updates.
  4. Use caution when driving in heavy traffic or at night.
  5. Drive with your doors locked and windows up.
  6. Be prepared to take alternative routes between home and work and other frequent locations.

  6. the Juarez Municipales are aligned with the Aztecas now. They have cut all ties with La Linea. La Linea and Mexicles are weaker than ever.
