One would hope only the
bad guys were killed in this explosion—unfortunately most were innocents
including children. Children are being
triaged to determine which will be sent to Texas Shriners. You can help by making a donation to Shriners,
a 501C3 nonprofit, state of the art facility. Shriners Hospitals for
Children attains highly coveted 4-Star Charity Navigator rating. Rating showcases
organization’s commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility
A Galveston hospital will
be treating patients who were burned in a deadly pipeline explosion Friday in a
small town in Mexico.
A spokesman for Shriners
Hospital for Children in Galveston confirmed that the hospital would be
receiving patients injured in the massive fireball that has so far killed at
least 73 people and injured 74 others.
"We are in
communication with the Consulate General of Mexico in Houston and with the
Michou y Mau Foundation in Mexico regarding the victims of this
explosion," said Mel Bower, a spokesman for Shriners Hospital for
Children. "Hospitals in Mexico are triaging and treating the children and
adults burned in this accident. Shriners Hospitals for Children will be
receiving patients who need our care."
Fuel theft gangs have
reportedly drilled illegal taps into oil pipelines 12,581 times in the first 10
months of 2018, an average of about 42 per day. Mexico President Andres Manuel
Lopez Obrador said that fuel thieves have stolen more than $3 billion worth of
fuel in the last year to sell on the black market.
Shriners Hospital for
Children has ample experience treating international burn victims. In June, the
hospital airlifted seven severely burned patients from a volcano explosion in
Guatemala that would benefit from its state-of-the-art facility in Galveston.
But the wall...
ReplyDeletelet me finish your sentence for you
DeleteBut the wall....... wont stop white men mass shooters will it dumbass?
this has nothing to do with it idiot, these are kids in central mexico
DeleteOnce again, America, and her taxpayers are stuck paying the tab.
ReplyDeleteA racist-ignorant statement. shiner is not paid by tax dollars.
DeleteMost of the donations come from Freemasons
DeleteBut Americans dollars. Why were kids even there
DeleteTax payer or not.. I'M GLAD THE USA IS HELPING. USA is not represented by the ignorant, cheap, and racist.
DeleteWhat an ignorant fucking idiot. This is why I hate comments sections on websites. It gives idiot fucks a platform to say stupid shit.
DeleteChivis they don't know any better, just plain dummies
DeleteSo ignorant
DeleteShriners are 'do gooders' around the world.I think their specialty that they support are children's causes especially the medical.
Delete@9:52 The US wasted $1 trillion dollars of your taxpayer dollars on an imbecilic war. I'd rather my taxes help some needy Mexican kids than swine-skin US defense swindlers.
Delete@ 9:52 You're a total idiot. Hope nothing like that ever happens to you or you family.
Delete952 you such a moron, USA extented its hand to help. Go back to your hole and read a book.
DeleteMr 952 needs reading comprehension, kids hospital is non profit, no US tax dollars involved.
DeleteYou remember that these are children right? I'd like a wall separating me from your ignorance.
Delete@10:07 - “Swine-skin”? Really?? I guess it’s also then permissible to use the term “Poo-skin”.
Delete@7:22 Whatever floats your boat. Take a sip from the same cup of poison you serve other people.
DeleteShriners is those people wearing red cone hats? Right?vests with vicks vapor rub? Weird out of the closet Rosemary's baby type scenario?
DeleteGodspeed to all those unfortunate kids people. - Sol Prendido
ReplyDeleteSaw the video and i can say mozt those peple where NOT innocent. They had all these containers like they where prepared or have done it before. Also it sounded like they were having a good time doing it till well the explosion.
ReplyDeleteWhen the USA has had natural disasters Mexico has always helped.
ReplyDeleteSeriously burned victims need very specialized staff, procedures, and facilities... and these are not available just anywhere. Plus, victims often die from secondary complications (like kidney failure) and not the burns directly.
ReplyDeleteI am proud of the USA extending its specialized resources to burn victims ... especially if they are children.
P.S. Many years ago I was a surgical orderly and saw a young mother die from burns to her lungs. This mother had gone to light her oven, but it was full of gas and exploded. Hot gasses seared her lungs. She looked fine externally (singed hair, superficial burns to face). The doctors and nurses went all out to save her. She lived from about 4 P.M. to 1 A.M. with her internal burns. I will never forget her and think of her when I it involves burn victims.
IMO, the USA "should" do everything possible for these burn victims.

Despite political views, humanity resides within us all.
DeleteHope this statement confirms most opinions.
Burns are the worst. Good on the USA for extending aid to the injured. We can set aside wall discussion for the moment and worry about children, innocents and their health.
ReplyDeleteBorder security and helping those in need of specialized medical assistance are separate issues.
Very unfortunate incident....but WHEN will Mexico take care if it’s OWN problems?? Whether it is violence, cartels or fuel theft...Mexican government has sat back, done very little and then when things explode....like in this situation...they want help.
ReplyDeleteThey WANT help?
DeleteHow about when hundreds of Mexican nationals came up and helped with recovery after our massive hurricane in Texas? And the victims of Hurricane Michael are still living in tents. Our own government doesn't even help us. This is a non-profit that works with children from all over the world. At least SOMEBODY is doing SOMETHING.
I think it’s more than great they can help! As a Mexican American veteran it makes me proud. Unfortunately, we don’t have a whole lot of pride these days.
ReplyDeleteGod’s given mercy is for children to be taken care of. No matter of race color or creed. These are totally innocent victims and deserve every chance in life in their childhood. Their activities are to play like children and have fun. Children should NEVER be included in criminal activities. Children are our joys in life, what we live for, they are our future, we are not theirs. Things have got to change in Mexico, things have got to change.
ReplyDeleteDios mio. Ninos are totally exempt from the sins of stupid adults. It is the adults who bear responsibility for this horror. I have few fears of things but the idea of something happening to my nietas makes me knees shake. Mexico prensa has a big responsibility I feel to closely follow in fotos and words the struggles of these burned ninos. Show Mexico how stupid greed has destroyed the lives of children. "YOU! huachicol! You caused this! You! Empleados de Petroleos Mexicanos! You! Gasolinistas! You are responsible for this. How does the photos and the cries of the ninos make you feel, eh? I am too sad and too sick to continue.
ReplyDeleteSo true. Firefighters, also.
ReplyDeleteThus is such a humanitarian gesture. America is already grate again!!
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to the innocent dead and may the lord save the innocent injured.
ReplyDeleteWith all the border wall topic talk there is going around separating us here in good ol usa, it's good to know USA still does things like this! USA!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they are helping the children, but gotta wonder what a bad decision it is to bring kids to the free gas event. Probably need them to carry extra containers, but very volatile as it proved to be.
ReplyDeleteAny connections with shriners and mex8can cartels anyone???
