Yesterday, political actors of PAN, PRD and Movimiento  Ciudadano, considered that the return of assets to the former chief of Mexico’s teacher union, was the  result of a ruling by a Federal Judge, therefore  a sign that the Government of López Obrador does not fight corruption and puts forward the alliance that wove with the former SNTE leader in the past elections.

The PRD leader associated with the President's memorandum by means of which he calls for a reversal of the educational reform, with the disagreement expressed by the former teacher leader.

The National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) demanded that the federal government take all properties from the Gordillo.

The 538 delegates from 36 trade union sections attached to the Coordinator spoke last weekend against the organization Teachers for Mexico, which supports the return of the former leader to the national magisterium.

"We demand imprisonment and extinction of ownership of the property of Elba Esther Gordillo Morales", stated in point 24 of the Resolutions of the Fifth Extraordinary Congress of the CNTE.

The leaders of the Coordinating Committee demanded an investigation  into the alleged enrichment of Gordillo, to return the union dues and to make transparent the amounts of money that the federal government gave her.

"We act from principles, we have ideals, we have moral authority because we know that in that way we can have political authority, we are not equal to the conservatives and their spokespersons, we are different, we do not make agreements in the dark, we do not pay to no compromise, we are not at the service of any created interest group, "he said.

"It is a new government that emerges from the people and whose purpose is to end corruption, impunity, influencing with all the scourges of politics, it is about going together, even if the conservatives do not want it, the transformation of Mexico , the fourth transformation of the Country ".

She was arrested charged with  stealing millions from the union, 156M USD.. 

After her “release” it was revealed she never spent a night behind bars.  Then suddenly the charges were dropped.

She soon filed for a return of her assets which a federal judge recently granted. 

She has been on the campaign circuit forming a new political party. 

Gordillo was arrested by the Mexican authorities on 26 February 2013 on charges of embezzlement and organized crime. She was included in a list of the "10 most corrupt Mexicans" published by Forbes in 2013.
