in networks of men with long guns patrolling La Ruana confirms alliance between
members of both Viagras and La Nueva Familia Michoacana cartels to unseat the group of
Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes
In the community of La
Ruana, Michoacán, both cartels continue
their struggle together to try to unseat the Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG),
judging from a video circulating on networks since Friday.
The clip shared shows
alleged assassins of the two heavily armed criminal groups while patrolling the
streets.
According to the site
focused on narcoviolence, it would be members of Los Viagras and La Nueva
Familia Michoacana.
"Video of heavily
armed hitmen from Los Viagras and La Nueva Familia patrol La Ruana to fight the
CJNG", read the description of the recording.
In the material that
circulates on social media network, there are at least five men with long
weapons, most of them pointing from the window of the truck in movement.
"Here we go, here
we go", repeats one.
In March, several press
reports pointed out that less powerful organizations in the state have come
together to try to take the CJNG's place, which has led to more bloodshed.
In those dates, the
confrontations between those of the CJNG and the Viagras were recurrent.
Even earlier this
month, residents released a video in which members of the latter group are seen
in a kind of procession of trucks with gunmen aboard in the streets of the
municipality of Buenavista, in Tierra Caliente.
Video translation is as follows:

Can anyone explain the difference between Los Viagras and LNFM? I always thought LNFM was just a re-branding of the Viagras group, an attempt to claim the “legitimacy” of their connection to the original LFM. I know that LNFM released mantas against El Chanda (Los Viagras lieutenant) back before he was caught, but I just assumed that was some in-group conflict.

I've heard that some older members of LFM are re-establishing their networks in North Texas with the help of Sinaloa contacts and are really using the events in Mexico as a way to redirect CJNG resources away from that US market to try and cripple their finances, and win the long game. Anyone know if that's true at all? LFM used to own the N TX market 8-11 yrs ago, they're very patient and obviously ruthless - Dallas in particular - violent crime and murder rate is way up in 2019. Truth, partial truth, or totally wrong?
