Delfino
Sánchez Zavala, Delegate elect of Tejalpa, in the municipality of Jiutepec,
Morelos was murdered on Saturday night by a group of armed men who shot him.
Due
to the murder, the City Council of Jiutepec suspended their session scheduled
for this Sunday, according to local media. In that session, the city council
would deliver proof of majority to the winners of the election held on March
24.
Although
the elected delegate was transferred to the hospital, he lost his life. In a
statement, the Government of Morelos condemned the murder of Delfino Sánchez, and
assured that "for no reason will this type of conduct be allowed or
tolerated, and that actions and forceful measures have already been
taken."
The case has been taken by the State Attorney General's Office, and has begun the corresponding investigations.
