Saltillo, Coah.- In a security action, police elements of the state and municipality of Salllo repelled an attack with firearms and killed 9 armed civilians, likely members of a cell of organized crime. The events happened this morning in the neighborhood of Loma Linda, east of Salllo, when security elements were conducting a surveillance tour in that sector and marking the stop to a vehicle, from the inside of their target vehicle the passengers started firing , injuring two policemen.

After this, the Code Red was triggered and the the Secretariat of State Security and the South East Reaction Group came to their aid, who followed the aggressors to an address where the attackers took refuge and where other armed individuals were found
"The police acted with the rigor that should be done in cases like this. These actions are not every day and the police will always act to safeguard the integrity of citizens," said the Attorney General of the State.

been light on violence and a safe city.
However, Coahuila tends to be a black out news state regarding narco
violence. Either events are not reported
or partially reported.
I recall a time when we
were staying at a hotel for our work in Saltillo at the Migrant Shelter. At night there was a shootout lasting most of
the night. The hotel locked everyone
in. In the AM I searched for news about
the shooting and found none. The next
day also had no reports.
On Friday morning, an
18-year-old woman was found executed in an area of the San Ramón neighborhood
in the southeast of Saltillo. She was handcuffed and shot in the head.
The victim, identified
as Adamari Rubí, had a bullet wound to the head, was tortured, her hands bound and she was found blindfolded.
On her body was a
cartulina with a message supposedly sent by [CDN].
The message was a
warning to those selling ice and mota, and those who are supporting Coahuila Fuerza. It stated that the same thing that happened to
Rubi would happen to them.
The following day it
was Fuerza that led the confrontation at the safe house in Satillo.
So far it is unknown if
this execution is related to the killings on Saturday. Nine were left dead,
all civilians, seven men and two women, who according to the official version of
the Government of Coahuila, had been
armed and "would be likely members of an organized crime cell."
Rumors have circulated
for a year that Fuerza is aligned with CJNG.
In the past when
cartels attempted to overtake Coahuila from Zetas, they always have advanced
from the south or the “Laguna”. Never by
going directly to the NE where Zetas have a stronghold. So this makes sense
that CJNG may be advancing in the south and Veracruz towards their target. I had anticipated over a year ago that CJNG
may advance in this way with Nuevo Laredo the target. Time will tell.

DeleteNever sure what to make of it when police/military win so convincingly. One thing I will say, handling and shooting a gun WELL is not an easy thing to do. A lot of these cholos are given a gun and not much training. When battle starts, they shut down and can't hit anything.
