Saltillo, Coahuila: The death toll from the armed confrontation occurred on Sunday night in the municipality of Múzquiz, Coahuila is now confirmed as 10.
The local newspaper Zócalo confirmed that the commander of the Criminal Investigation Police at the Mineral de Palaú, Yunir Marcelino, died at 8 a.m. this Monday due to a shot he received in the head. The death of three alleged members of the Northeastern Cartel criminal group (CDN) was also confirmed.
However, municipal authorities unofficially report at least 25 deaths, including three members of the Fuerza Coahuila corporation, which is not yet confirmed by state authorities, who have refused to report details of what happened since Sunday night.
An official report from the Coahuila Public Prosecutor's Office issued during the early hours of Monday morning indicated that at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, a confrontation was reported on a local road near the community of Mineral La Florida, in the municipality of Múzquiz, "that up to now shows a balance of six probable delinquents killed".
