A man, arrested suspected of participating in the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students, in
the Iguala, Guerrero massacre, was tortured during interrogation.
Since the investigations began, accusations against
agents of different police corporations for torturing detainees have been
constant.
In March 2018, the United Nations High Commissioner
for Human Rights published a report in which he claimed that at least 34 detainees
had been tortured. In 23 of the cases, the detainees pointed to agents of the
ministerial police, attached to the federal prosecutor's office. One of the 23
is the man that appears in the video.
The new evidence again calls into question the validity
of the process. Last year, a federal court called for restitution of the
proceedings because of allegations that the confessions and accusations of
several detainees, accused of participating in the disappearances, were
obtained through torture.
Through torture, innocent detainees have falsely
confessed, while probable guilty detainees have gone free because of human
rights violations.
Of the dozens of suspects detained then arrested, almost none remain in prison.
Are there any really innocent people left in Mexico?

The human rights are defending lacras!
ReplyDeleteYou may be too stupid to understand that due process is what mitigates crime. Those who are willing to give up their rights for security deserve neither.
DeleteAh yes! A student of Thomas Jefferson I presume.

DeleteNormally I'd be celebrating that they "caught" someone for that heinous crime, but they probably picked up some poor joker off of the street who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and pinned this on him.
