A military investigation into human trafficking on Thursday resulted in the arrest of 16 US Marines while the battalion formation was taking place at Camp Pendleton (California), a base located one hour by road from the Mexican border .None of those arrested were involved in border security activities , the Marine Corps said in a statement.
The arrests would be related to the arrest of two Marines, a few weeks ago, by a Border Patrol agent, they were close to the limits with Mexico. They are accused of entering - illegally - three Mexicans nationals onto American soil. VIDEO up next:
The arrests at Camp Pendleton stemmed from a separate investigation of two other Marines arrested earlier this month on human trafficking charges filed by federal prosecutors in San Diego, a base spokesman said.
Those two Marines, Lance Corporals Byron Darnell Law II and David Javier Salazar-Quintero, were also stationed at Camp Pendleton, about 55 miles (88 km) north of San Diego, according to the spokesman, Marine First Lieutenant Cameron Edinburgh.
“Information gained from the previous investigation gave way to this string of arrests,” Edinburgh told Reuters.
The Marine Corps said that in addition to the Marines arrested on Thursday, eight others were detained for questioning on unrelated alleged drug offenses.
The 16 taken into custody were all part of the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, one of the largest Marine Corps bases in the United States.
None one of those arrested or detained on Thursday was serving in support of the military’s mission along the border with Mexico, the Marine Corps said.
Unlike Salazar and Law, the Marines faced prosecution under the military justice system but no formal charges have been brought against them as yet, Edinburgh said.
The precise nature of the alleged wrongdoing was not disclosed, but Edinburgh said the troops were suspected of involvement in the smuggling of undocumented immigrants into the United States from Mexico and various unspecified drug-related offenses.
The two Marines arrested July 3 on charges of transporting aliens for financial gain were arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents several miles north of the border along a highway in San Diego County, which makes for a total of 18 US Marines arrested for suspected human trafficking and /or drug offenses.

According to the Marine Corps, the information obtained during those arrests resulted in Thursday's detentions.

The military is accused of various illegalities , from smuggling people to drug-related crimes, authorities added.
Other eight elements are being questioned about their alleged involvement in drug - related crimes as part of a separate investigation.
In context:
Camp Pendleton, the largest Marine Corps base on the west coast of the country, is located about 90 kilometers (55 miles) north of the Mexican border.
Marines were deployed this year to collaborate with the Department of Homeland Security to reinforce the border , installing barbed wire on top of existing barriers. Army elements are prohibited from making immigration arrests .
Give them the chair.
ReplyDeleteHaha I guess Trump is gonna have to build a wall around camp Pendleton too haha...but hey don't blame these guys for trying to make an xtra buck 10k-30k a pop depending on where they coming from ain't bad
ReplyDelete10k to 30K a pop? Not even close over here dude. You watch way too much news bro! They would have been lucky to have made 5k a pop. It's more like 1k to 2k a pop for that short of a distance.
DeleteThey had to, or they would have been put in El Hongo if caught on the Mexican side where US Marines cry for their mommy.
DeleteNow seriously, their sin was being free agents, when they work as a team for the whole organization everybody covers up and keeps it going faster and longer, with many opportunities for presidential pardons, over 100 in the age of HW and Ronnie's,
To my knowledge recon Marines take part in missions with CBP in the southern part of the US. Who knows what type of mess these boys get themselves into while on the border!
ReplyDelete7:33 a fine mess, obviously...
DeleteI was stationed there back in 2004. Camp Pendleton’s southern entrance is before a checkpoint off the freeway and exits just north of it. I remember being told that Pendleton had been used for trafficking before. I myself knew a gate guard from boot camp, it would be relatively easy to get that going under certain circumstances. Back then we didn’t even make $900 a month. I also remember once seeing DEA outside the barracks next to mine. Trippy
ReplyDeleteThey just serving their country.... Both of them lol
ReplyDeleteFuck these soldiers! Send them with Chapo to Supermax. Human trafficking is the equivalent of kidnapping except with a much softer tone to ita name. But only Mexicans harm Americans people say. This is why we need a fuckin 5 billion dollar wall along the border.
ReplyDeleteOpen your eyes immigration haters!!! Crime works in all directions from the border both south to north and north to south and criminals come from all backgrounds as evidenced by these soldiers.
These aren't soldiers, they're marines. Big difference
Delete*Marines not soldiers
DeleteSol is a soldier
Delete1120 were not talking about Sol can u read?
Delete11:20 is, or WAS?
DeleteIt has been a long time since the US Civil War,
Sol should be dead by now, dead, Dead, DEAD!
Our vaunted Marine have disgraced the Corp... spit on the Oath, etc. The same sh$t has occurred to the FBI with respect to the failed coup to frame President Trump for colluding with Russia to win his election to POTUS. I America as corrupted as Mexico?
ReplyDeleteGame over if my suspicions hold true.
I feel like throwing up!
Mexico-Watcher
Did you not watch the robert mueller testimony the other day? they burned him so bad he was getting called out for his numerous lies he couldn't even answer because it was all lies including the russia collusion investigation smh
DeleteAs a former marine, the corps disgraces itself. The only oath that holds weight is the true motto, “semper I, fuck the other guy”. With that said I always like your input watcher
DeleteNames of the accused? Let's see who they are?
ReplyDeleteThey are mostly white boys with a few Latinos/ Hispanics involved
DeleteWhat a shame... hope they get their names in the media to shame them.
ReplyDeleteThey will get there names and faces shown. But in Mexico they hide thier names and thier faces. That's why they the criminals feel, that they can continue to get away with crime.
DeleteI remember televisa stopped showing pictures of criminals firt, somewhere 2010-11 I was leaving in Tijuana, people where being identified in jail along with relatives thanks to pics, crazy times
DeleteSemper Fi
ReplyDeleteDo or die
DeleteNo way these guys were just randomly going into tj to pick up migrants. This is organized stuff. What better than a couple of corn fed white boy marines going into tj to party? BP waved them through with no problems countless times before. Someone one smart enough to use this trust against the border agents to make some 💲💲💲
ReplyDeleteIt was organized, by anchor baby marines with family in Mexico.
DeleteThe majority of those arrested are Hispanic, not corn fed white boys.
BTW, active duty Marines assigned to Camp Pendleton are prohibited from going into Mexico for any reason.
@9:06 some years back a Caucasian guy from the Air Force was killed in a bar down in Juarez. They confused him with someone else. All military personnel are prohibited from going into Mexico. Don’t think it’s just Hispanics going there. What the military prohibits is one thing. Another is knowing every rank does it’s own thing in private. From NCO’s to Officers. - Sol Prendido
Delete906 Big Sol couldn't have put it any better. Kapeesh!?
DeleteWe were stationed in Yuma in 1982 and the Gunny let us use his car and take it to Mexico. We were a bunch of clueless white girl Marines. The only rule was to replace the gasoline we used. Good times! How things have changed. Dr. K
DeleteI am speechless serving the military and this happens.
ReplyDeleteA disgrace to our country to have these individuals partake in these crimes.
ReplyDeleteTo serve and protect should be their objective. Not in cahoots with cartels.
I heard it was a few privates, that we're involved. They sure tarnish the good reputation of the Marines
ReplyDelete9:23 discharge, maybe dishonorable, that is it.
DeleteThere have been greedier traitors dealing with the enemy and PLAIN FLAT FOOT WAR CRIMINALS that have been presidential pardonned, their trampling of human rights and rules of engagement were no obstacles, not specially for private mercenary contractors.
The news reporter seemed upset because they were lined up and arrested. Guess the cry baby news media wanted the Marines to call them to to the office and call their parents.
ReplyDeleteThey may be prohibited from entry on Libo however, i know for a fact that we send or have sent Marine instructors to train with Marina in Yucatan.
ReplyDeleteNo organization is without it's bad apples though Marines are taught " Honesty and Integrity" from Boot. At the end of the day you can't change human nature.
ReplyDeleteLastly when describing Marines, Marines serve in the Marine Corps , Soldiers serve in the Army. Obviously most don't care about proper terminology or descriptions of such but thought it worth mentioning.
Nothing new 16 more will take over the business
ReplyDeleteThe US Marines will never run out of Bullet Stoppers.
DeletePeople could do good and go get bigger crooks, even among clean saintly USMC brass, many of them living for retirement in some DOD contractor's cushy job...conspiring to get their big bucks from the taxpayer, crime free.
White boys are caught doing the same shit all the time even in the military. Those anchor babies are native americans. Remember that.
ReplyDeleteFor real
Delete7:25 General, Lt Col Oliver North was no Mexican or a Saint.
DeleteAs an American who has lived around the Tecate-Tijuana area and crossed the border regularly for twenty-five years I think I can say this.
ReplyDelete"The evil I witness comes in all colors, ethnicities and economic levels. The marines are no exception."
Their needs to be an internal investigation of the entire base because they might be compromise by the cartels or even have a member of the cartels in their ranks.
ReplyDelete824 They do have special investigations on site. Furthermore is was a Latino private 1st class, that influenced others to make easy money. Don't worry the whole base is not infected.
DeleteEXCELLENT POINT. We cannot have this end here. I do believe this is just the tip of an iceberg. Already, I suspect some in our CBP , FBI, ICE, Democrap politicians are compromised . Identify and eliminate these traitorous roaches ASAP.
DeleteThat whole Trump colluding with Russia hoax makes me very uncomfortable with the way America is going.
Before we know it, we may resemble Mexico.
Mexico-Watcher
11:13 it is famously known that 10% of the persons are the cause of 90% of the problems in any organisation...
DeleteI am sure this "problem" is not even a stone in this base's shoes.
7:40 yes dear, this shit happens right hear in the land of the goldened tolidos, there may even be one in the whites' house
