Agents of the Mexican Army found a clandestine laboratory used for the manufacture of synthetic drugs in the state of Sonora, northwest of the country, the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) reported on Wednesday.
Through a statement, the Army indicated that the events occurred when military personnel carried out land surveys in the municipality of General Plutarco Elías Calles de Sonora and located a clandestine laboratory in a trough, covered with weeds.
After the inspection, 3,200 liters of toluene, 2,700 of unknown substances, 600 of acetone, 200 of methanol and 550 of hydrochloric acid were seized at the site.
In addition 4,550 kilograms of sodium hydroxide, 1,175 of tartaric acid, 1,350 of caustic soda, 60 of unknown substances, two reactors for organic synthesis, 19 burners and a trailer.
The institution said that in total 7,250 liters and 7,135 kilograms of substances used for the manufacture of synthetic drugs were seized.
"Elements belonging to this armed institute are providing peripheral security in place, pending the ministerial authority to carry out the legal proceedings," the bulletin concluded.
Also, on September 15, the Sedena reported that under the "National Peace and Security Plan 2018-2024", elements of the Mexican Army obtained an important drug confiscation in the municipality of San Luis Río Colorado.
The secured drug has an estimated market price of more than 25 million 800 thousand pesos, which significantly affects criminal organizations; It should be noted that military personnel at all times provided peripheral security support to the participating authorities.
This type of action is intended to weaken the infrastructure of production and distribution of drugs by criminal groups operating in this region, which is one of the most affected by the trafficking of these substances throughout the country due to its proximity to U.S.
Military troops established in a Military Security Post, when reviewing a truck tract from the city of Puerto Peñasco, in the state of Sonora, located inside plastic bags containing a crystalline and granular substance, with the characteristics methamphetamine, with an approximate weight of 101.2 kilograms so the driver was arrested.
The detainee, the confiscated vehicle and substance, were made available to the corresponding authorities.
One of the laboratories of the Sinaloa Cartel near Culiacán, Sinaloa busted earlier this summer.
The drug was in 204 packages in four vehicles, three of them with theft report. According to Semar estimates, the alleged drug would have a value in the black market of 3,435,520 pesos.
During the search, a person was arrested who along with the drug was made available to the Federal Public Ministry of Tijuana, Baja California.

ReplyDeleteAll these confiscated chemicals should be poured into one large container and then every cartel/sicario that is arrested should just be dropped in and drown in it.
