Two members of the Cartel del Noreste were executed aboard a truck by four armed men apparently linked to a group of drug traffickers from the Sinaloa Cartel. They were later arrested, in the municipality of Escobedo, within the state of Nuevo León, Mexico.
According to initial reports, it was reported that elements from the Proximidad de Escobedo police upon hearing the detonations and seeing a red van with armed men began to follow them. And with the support of the Federal Police they were captured on a dirt road in the neighborhood San José de los Sauces.
The events occurred yesterday afternoon on Puerta del Norte Avenue on the road between Colombia, Nuevo León to Laredo, Tamaulipas in the Puerta del Norte Residential neighborhood.
The uniformed men disarmed the aggressors from Sinaloa, who were carrying 9 mm caliber weapons. The detainees are Roberto, 21, Jesus 26, Rodolfo 27, and Juan Carlos, of the same age.
A source said that the deceased was Margarito Ávila García, 50, originally from Guerrero and Jorge Gerardo Garza Araujo, 49, from Monterrey; who were aboard a Ford truck.
Municipal and Ministerial Police elements arrived to take charge of the investigations.
